What's your favorite fast food place?
5 Favorite:
1. Sonic's Drive-In - Such awesome burgers and so many tasty drink combinations. Plus fantastic ice cream treats. And if that doesn't tickle your fancy, then how about a sandwich, hot dog, tacos, chicken fingers, chili; the selection is amazing!
2. Quizno's Subs - Man am I in love with their toasted subs. So tasty. And they don't skimp on the meat, cheese, and sauce (*cough*Subway*cough*), which is the best part of the sandwich, IMO. That Mesquite Chicken sandwich is heaven on bread.
3. Taco Bell - What can I say? I like tacos.
4. Long John Silver's - I'm also a sucker for seafood. And there's just something about Long John's Silver's batter.
5. Carl's Jr. - Best fast-food chain burgers you can get, IMO. Of course BBQ or mom & pop places are often better, though.
5 Worst:
1. Panda Express - They have the nerve to call that crap Chinese food?
2. Wendy's - Everything is just so bland there.
3. Pizza Hut - All the ingredients taste cheap. Which sucks because they do have good ideas for pizza like cheese-stuffed crust.
4. Subway - Because they think a sandwich should be 80% lettuce.
5. Jamba Juice - Because I'm a grown man and I don't drink my meals.
-
General is for gaming-related threads... so I moved this to Off-Topic. Sorry!

1 - burgers = five guys
2 - sub = Penn Station
3 - chicken = Zaxbys
4 - Fries = checkers
5 - Other = Portillo's italian beef / arbys roast beef
worst
1 - burgers = white castle. these sliders made me vomit
2 - sub = subway / jimmy johns / quiznos they are all about the same not bad just not penn station
3 - chicken = burger kings tenders, its odd as the tender crisp is great
4 - Fries = wendys, these are ok but nothing special
5 - Other = any pizza place as i hate cheese
-
5. Jamba Juice - Because I'm a grown man and I don't drink my meals.
hahaha love the logic
-
I don't like fast food for the most part but I do enjoy Arby's from time to time.
-

No, no, no. Subway and Quizno's are far from the same. Subway is a crapload of lettuce, and a thin layer of meat. While Quizno's is just the opposite.
And wow! You have got to be the only person I have ever seen that hates cheese.
-
Depends on your definition of fast food I suppose. I consider any place that doesnt require a menu and a waiter/waitress fast food. So here goes
#1 : Johnies - One of the best burgers around. Any place that uses a pile of shredded cheese instead of one stupid piece of sliced cheese wins with me.
#2 : Taco Bell - Simply put, I like Baja Blast and the Beefy Nacho griller.
#3 : A&W - A frosty mug of root beer and a side of cheese curds is awesome in the middle of the day
I dont really eat any other fast food place lately. And my least favorites
#1 : McD's - Just ick. Most of the time I cant even consider them "food"
#2 : Taco Bueno/Mayo - Fuckin gross. Plain and simple ... fuckin gross.
#3 : Burger King - I had a bad experience there once and cant ever get over it. I wouldnt mind them otherwise.
-
Jimmy Johns
A&W
Taco Bell
Fast food is not great. But sometimes you just want to eat some crap. Seriously, sometimes some burritos and tacos with a giant Mt Dew from Taco Bell is just fantastic.

1. Burger King - This started awhile back that if we were to open a food chain it would be like Burger King - but our twist would be that we would use Humans for the meat and call it the Badass Burger.. To supply the meat we would have the Badass Burger - This burger would be sooo Big that if you couldn't finish this off then we would ask the person to go in the back to sign something for attempting to win at this game and which we would butcher and serve to the next customer. If you were able to finish the Badass Burger then your meal was free.. This started all from our Love for BK and of course Texas Chainsaw Massicre II.
2. Taco Bell - I like to get the 7-layer burriotos but at times Taco Salad is awesome too.
3. Sonric - I go for this because I can watch the ones willing to try and rollerskate food to me :)
4. In and Out Burger - This Started in California I heard and Finally reached Dallas, TX firs time there and a well priced burger was awesome.. 2.50 for their double meat double cheese...an they don't hold back on that cheese neither.
-Taco Buano??? is still around?? I love that place as a kid but seems Taco Bell ran them out :(
Really don't have a place I hate to eat at.. but I guess if I chose a place I don't go to that often it would be.... Wendy's... square burgers are fine. but can I have the rest of my burger with the grease please!!!!

Taco Bueno is still around. In fact there is one right next to an in-n-out in Dallas. It's one right off the central expressway. They are all over Tulsa.
I didn't grow up in California and this must be why. But I don't really like In-N-Out... at all. I first had it on a trip to San Diego for the rowing regatta in college. We stopped at one in Tempe. I thought it might have just been Tempe, so I tried it again in San Diego, same result. I would periodically try it while in San Francisco. Still never got into it.

1 - burgers = five guys
I keep hearing about how great Five Guys is, but I never tried it before because I was sure we didn't have those around here. Last week I heard we did, and it's close to my job so I'll be trying it soon.
I don't really have favorite fast food places because I try to mostly avoid fast food that's not pizza... Burger King is okay but their burgers are so minuscule now, and Harvey's is good. I'm not big on Taco Bell, Quiznos doesn't have the one thing I liked there anymore, Subway is decent... and that's about all we have around here.
Otherwise... well it's not "fast" per say but The Works (http://www.worksburger.com/) is a badass burger place.Whenever I go there I get a root beer float and a Sk8ter Boy burger (ground beef, bacon, monterey jack cheese and peanut butter), but they have like at least 50 different types of burgers and you choose the meat (or veggie burger or portobello mushroom cap). It's where I learned that peanut butter is probably the best thing to ever put in burgers. And you get your soda in a measuring cup!
-
5 Guys is awesome. Matt and I went there last the year before last when we went to Cleveland for a Gaming show. That burger completley melts in your mouth. The fries were pretty good too.
-
I wasnt as impressed with 5 guys. There are a few of them around here in OKC area so I wanted to try it. It was a standard burger for me. There are two places around here that do a good burger so much better. Johnnies I already mentioned (not all of them are the same strangely but the one I nearest to my house is by far the best one) and a local place called Ron's. They are simply the best but I didnt list them earlier cause they are local only I think.

4. Long John Silver's - I'm also a sucker for seafood. And there's just something about Long John's Silver's batter.
You're right, there is something about that batter... It's so good (especially with malt vinegar), but boy do you feel like dying after eating anything there. *sick face*
I'd rather order a pizza than go for fast food.

even that has turned Fast food Little Ceasers "Hot and Ready Pizza" Walk in order and walk out no wait they have them ready to go.

Ewww, Little Caesars is nasty. I do tend to go with Pizza Hut for "fast" pizza, even though it's packed with sodium... I'd rather go to a cozy, sit-down "Mom and Pop" kind of pizza place. :)
-
Little Ceasars is nasty to a point. I hate their pizza sauce (I actually hate pizza sauce in general but theirs is caked on especially thick) so what I do is call before I go and order a square sauceless pizza. By the time I get there, its ready. Same $5 price. The cool thing about the square pizza is the middle pieces have no crust which is awesome. I remember back in the early 90s, Dominos used to have a pizza called the Big foot. 3 foot long rectangle pizza. Lots of middle crustless pieces. I used to order one almost every Friday night.
-
I try to avoid national chains and the usual glut of greasy, crappy fast food stuff, but there are a lot of local food carts and quick stop places that are really tasty. Off-hand, I'd say Perierra Crêperie for late night noms, Sizzle Pie and Tugboat Brewing Company for quick food and beer, and maybe Chipotle if I'm stuck in the suburbs.
Tons and tons* of brewpubs around town that serve cheap, locally-grown, goodies and beer, and can have you in and out in 15 minutes, too. I have a standing habit of hitting a pub for something quick before digging around used bins or going to shows.
* The Portland-Metro area has like 300 microbreweries, most of whom have a restaurant or 12 somewhere in town. It is awesome.

dont get the large fries unless there is 3-5 of you. they give you a sac of them

not sure this would be classed as fast food but i think you can get it as take out,
Famous Daves.
that place is great.

Both Little Ceasar's and Pizza Hut is terrible, cheap pizza. Crappy dough and sauce, frozen and canned ingrediants, rubbery cheese. TERRIBLE. And in Pizza Hut's case, it's really a shame. Because they have good ideas for pizza, like cheese stuffed crust, but because their pizza is so bad it's never as good as the idea should be.
If you want a great pizza, nothing beats Round Table Pizza, NOTHING. Always fresh, always grade A ingredients, best pizza cheese, and the best ranch sauce I have EVER had.
-
Ive never heard of Round table pizza. I guess thats a regional thing. We have our own regional thing here called Mazzio's. I worked there for a long time and so did my wife (thats where we met). Her ex husband runs one of the stores and they remain friends so we get to go eat there for free a few times a month. They make their own ranch and its the only ranch I will eat period. I also like their pizzas over the other chains around here cause of the same reasons. They make their own crust and sauce every morning and nothing is ever frozen.
Btw, this thread is killing me. Its making me so hungry. :(

You should have told me before! :p
Just got back from there, with a regular fries they still put a ton of fries in the bag. Love it though, one of the best burgers I've had in the area and the fries are really good. More expensive than Burger King but it's worth it when you compare the quality.
-
I like Taco Bell, to a point. I usually don't like them but their Doritos tacos... god, they managed to make their "food" resemble something edible.
My favorite fast food restaurant is still Carl's Jr. Love their fries.
For pizza, I buy from a local restaurant that's a mile away from my place.
Uh, that's it.
-
I've been hooked on Taco Bell's Volcano Tacos. If I want a fast burger and fries, I usually hit up Rally's or Burger King. Other than that, meh. I do like me some Long John Silvers occasionally, but it's so oily and greasy, and I only get their chicken 'cause I hate fish.
-
I use to get pizza from this one place awhile back...what was it called oh now I remember "Pizza Patron" Some friends and I think they mix the dough and sauce with crack because you can't get enough of it. plus it is a kinda mom and pops / regional kinda pizza place.. 15 min but it is well worth the wait... My babe though doesn't like me driving all the way to where it is at about 15-30 min drive :(
-
Most of the fast food places I like best are local or regional chains:
Burgers:
Runza - great burgers, but the Runza pocket sandwich is their claim to fame.
Don & Millie's
Tacos:
Taco John's
Amigos
Chipotle
Chinese, pizza and sandwiches:
Mom & pop shops are way better than national chains
-
For Pizza around here, there is an excellent place called Pizza Sam's. Huge dining room and right downtown. The place is packed in the Summer.
-
one thing you have to remember of when talking fast food is the food regulations are different in other country's,for an example, canadian food regulations are more strict then the usa food regulations,so canadian mcdonalds is better then usa mcdonalds,
burgers
mcdonalds
wendy's
burger baron
poutine
new york fries
pizza
dominos
vern's pizza (to good to call it fast food)

I hear a lot of people in hating on McDonald's and saying things like it's not even real food when I bring them up. It says 100% beef right on the packaging of the burgers, and 100% white meat chicken on the chicken packages. With the french fries they have an art down on how they grow and cook them to make their world-famous fries, it's actually kind of neat. They even give you a list of ingredients and nutrition values just to prove to people that they're legit.
Yet people still say try and claim it's all a bunch of chemical junk. It's a hipster thing! McDonald's is so big now that it's not cool for some people to like McDonald's so they just spread rumors about it.
I like McDonald's. It's not Carl Jr. nor is it as good as a sit-down restaurant burger, but it's still good.

in the states a lot of restaurants use LFTB & BLBT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pink_slime) and its gross
-
^ Which McDonalds came out when the controversy was all over the news and made it clear that they no longer use the pink slime.

which is good but it still grosses me out that there are restaurants in the states that still use it
-
I dont care about the pink slime or not, I just dont really like their food. Its bland to me compared to almost every other burger out there. Considering their prices have went up a lot lately, its almost the same price to get a higher level burger as it is to get a Quarter pounder or a Big Mac.

On the topic of burgers and the quality of meat. The Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri area has a fast food place called Braums, which is pretty good. Just not my style of burger. Braums won't open stores a certain distance away from their farm due to shipping the food and how quickly real food spoils. What I think is nice is that their farm gives tours. One of the few fast food places that let's the public see where the food comes from.
I imagine a few people on this forum are familiar with Braums. I'm not a fan of the fries though. I think they are just Ore-Ida fries.
-
The issue I have with Braums is they dont use a really good mayo and burger without mayo is trash! I dont eat fries anyhow (I hate potatoes). I used to like their limeaids but they changed and I cant stomach them now compared to Sonic.

Yeah McDonalds is disgusting. I ate some last week (my first time in over 2 maybe 3 years) and it tastes really bad, it's barely even edible and I'm fairly convinced the only meat in my bacon double cheeseburger was the bacon...
At least the fries are decent.

I just wanted to add:
The Mesquite Chicken at Quizno's is divine.
I order it on Rosemary Parmesan bread. On it is marinated chicken, olives, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, bacon, and ranch. Then the whole thing is lightly toasted, and finally crisp lettuce added to it. (You're supposed to have onions on it too, but yuck! Why would I do that?)
I recommend it to everyone here.

Id recommend putting the olives and tomatoes in the same place you put the onions!

And where is that? lol ;D

Most likely in the trash Im assuming. :) Thats where I would put them. Onions are actually better than both olives and tomatoes.
-
For burgers you can't beat 5 Guys. Grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, jalapeños, and steak suace makes a damn fine burger.
For pizza I like Papa Johns. Dominos, Pizza Hut, and Pizza Inn are all still pretty good. But pizza is a lot like sex. Bad pizza is still pretty damn good.
When I find one I can't pass up a Chipotle. Those burritos are amazing. That cilantro rice they put on there is fan-freakin-tastic. It is great. We have a Blue Coast Burrito around here, but ts just not the same.
As for the bad, well I can find something I can eat just about everywhere. I even like McDonalds. It doesn't really qualify as a burger. It's its own little animal, literally.

I've never actually eaten Braums' food. I've only ever gotten their cherry limeades. They're pretty good, I guess, but Sonic's are slightly better (Happy Hour FTW!).
On a side note, I tried the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos the other day... They're not bad, but I feel like I need to drink a litre of water after a few because of all the sodium! :P
-
Original Chicken Sandwiches from Burger King are my weakness.
I also enjoy Papa John's for pizza.
