I'm in!
Started a coffee can bank and glued the lid on (can't remember who had that idea, think it was scott), which is a great idea!
Now my little brother can't raid my change to buy candy anymore!
I think I want a Neo Geo Pocket Color, but I might shoot for a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga!

I dont think Im going to be able to join in this one. I am no where near my goal of RR2 at the moment and all my change/wife's tips atm are going toward that. We will see how far along this is by the time we actually come up with all the funds.

Yup, that was me! I haven't glued the lid back on yet, since I haven't found my glue yet. But it does help keep me from sneaking dollars worth of quarters. I don't glue the lid on the smaller change container tho, since I never sift through the thing.

*sigh* If only I used cash.

This is how I feel. :(

I have a single dollar that's been in my wallet for like 6 months. I'm debit 100% of the time.

I'm in the "No Cash" boat as well, but I've decided to use the "Cash back" feature of my CC as my "saved change."  It's like, kinda the same thing, right?

I don't think I could ever go the "debit card only" route. Possibly because I run a store, and know how much percentages come out of my sales because of cards. Plus, if you're dealing with mom and pop shops, they tend to give you a better deal if you show them greenbacks.

Game Stores in Michigan? Well, when I was living in Midland I'd go to Game On and Game Traders. I've gotten good finds at both. But Game On did seem slightly more organized. I also think they had a better selection. I found good prices at both.

I know our one friend opened a new store in Bay City called 1-Up Games. But I haven't had a chance to swing in and check it out yet. Maybe I'll do that after work sometime this week.

In Saginaw there is Video Games Plus, some folks think his prices are a little out there, but he does have a lot of stock. I've gotten some good finds there as well.

Well, Im closer to RR2. Im at $94.40 atm ... however the guy that was holding the game for me had to sell it to pay a medical bill. :( So I may not get it for the price I was wanting.  :-\

Trying to use cash more often these days in an attempt to start cutting my credit card debt down.  I dropped $25 on the ground the other day and thankfully found it before someone else got to it, reminding me why I don't usually use cash -__-

but!  Using cash means my piggy bank is a lot heavier than it was compared to the the first round of SYC... fingers crossed for a PS4!  haha

Feels like it's been longer than that... but yeah, October, I think, right?  I've been trying to spend cash lately instead of plastic in order to pare down the credit card debt, so my piggy bank is super heavy and maybe 3/4 full.  *excite*

Mine is empty. I had to take my entire savings since the beginning of the first round ($55 total) and put it into the bank to pay the water bill. :(

Mine's lacking. I don't know if I'll reach Snow Bros levels like I wanted. If I don't, I may just hold onto it for another 6 months.

One month to go! I counted my quarters a few weeks ago and was sitting in the mid $90s. I'm thinking I'm not going to hit the same, or better, amount as last time. Though I didn't count my dimes and such either. Still planning to put it toward the PS4 purchase, so what ever I end up with will at least take most of the sting out of it.
Title: Re: Save Your Change v2.0

How the hell do you end up with that much change? I havent gotten $90 total and thats from both rounds of saving. The first round I finally ended up with $55 and I had to put it in the bank to pay my water bill. This time around its not even $20 (of course cause the wife keeps going into it and taking some out for the kids).

Ha I take like $60-100 bucks out of my check a week for daily food/pop/etc expenses. Then while at work I only hand the clerks bills, at the end of the day I empty my pockets and put the change in my jars. After work, I have changed/showered and when I go places I have already emptied my change out of my pockets so I hand the clerks bills.

I rarely use change when I'm shopping, so it builds up pretty quick.

Final tally: $183.50!

Just under halfway paid to the total of the PS4.

Edit: and apparently this time was 50¢ short of last times total. Crazy!

I'll have to tally mine up later this week but will refrain from adding any more after tonight.

Also, nice work, Scott!  So nice to have the PS4 half paid off already :)

scott, do you want to set the date for the next one?  i think we save our change for something like 6 months and then reveal the amounts and what we plan to spend it on.

i haven't had a chance to count mine yet.  hopefully this week!

The first time around the 6 months zoomed by.  But maybe since this one included the summer time, it felt longer.  I think the first time around we counted up change on April 20.  So I assume that'll be the tally-up date for v3.0 .  Glad you're interested to join in!  I'm anxious to see how much mine is, but I also want to count out and buy out my quarters for laundry.  Otherwise, I'd just take the piggy bank straight to the grocery store to cash in with the Coinstar machine.

Ha, not as extravagant as the others, but considering that my last round was just over $14 or so, I was pretty pleased with my final tally:

$50.85 !

It'll probably go towards one of the 3 other copies of Hometown Story coming my way, but I'll let you know if I decide to splurge on something interesting with that little chunk of change.
