Do they have a Convention tour for video game collectors, sellers, buyers? I know I go to pocketwatch conventions that the Nawcc hosts. when I was at one of them the convention coming in afterwards was toothpick holder collectors convention. I'm not talking about comic con or dragon con im talking about only video gaming. if damn toothpick holders have a convention for themselves video gaming should to(if video gaming doesn't have one, that is). a place where you can set up to sell and buyers and collectors can look and buy if they want to or just trade or socialize for that matter.

Yes there are plenty of gaming conventions around the globe, the 2 that I have been to have been the Classic Gaming Expo http://www.cgexpo.com/ and the Portland Retro Gaming Expo http://www.retrogamingexpo.com/. I personally have gotten great deals from both of these Expo's and you can sell your stuff there and trade with other people. I'm not sure of any conventions around your area I just try to go to the ones closer to where I live.

Although it is not retro exclusively. A lot of game collectors go to Magfest. It is a general gaming convention but has a fair amount of retro from what I hear. Enough to find good deals. But not worth it if you fly out just to save some money on a Panzer Dragoon Saga or something.
There are usually some retro stuff. For example, Tulsa Oklahoma has a small one. Dallas just had one. and so on.

I'm hoping matt and I can work something out, so we can take VGC to superbitcon. If not, I gonna try to plan on going just so I can help support it.

Hello, I'm cute and fuzzy. I'm the mascot. :P

I don't think there's trading/selling, but my boyfriend managed to help me get tix to PAX this year. Anyone else heading up that way?
I've never been to one before - hopefully I don't catch bird flu or the plague.

Sweet! Can't make it to OVGE this year so I was hoping some other local shows would pop up. Almost makes me miss organizing the old OEGE (almost...).
-
Man, things are happening in the south central US. Tulsa, OKC, and Dallas all have at least one a year. Way to go guys!
-
Hey Dstone, when is OVGE anyhow? I have been trying to contact them for weeks with nothing.

I'm planning on making this trip too. If you need any help manning a booth or whatnot, hit me up.
I wanted to go to OVGE, but I haven't found much information about it. I've never been to any kind of convention, but I'm going to soon.

He can be a bit difficult to get ahold of sometimes. OVGE is going to be on Sept. 21 this year. Here's what he posted on a different forum:
Drew,
I understand and trust me, I was't ready to even announce this yet. But there are several upstart new events similar if not just like OVGE starting this year in Oklahoma and Trek Expo and the Screw Attack convention in Dallas took my June time slot this year. As it is.. it will be a crowded fall for shows. Portland Retro Expo, CGE possibly in July or August, OVGE now in September, the Green Country Comics and Gaming Expo in Oct. And now I got word that the OKRGS guys are going to start their own OKC area convention just like OVGE in May or June 2014. Gonna be an interesting year...
