Looks like ffx is getting released in HD. I wonder how good it will look. I doubt its a remake. A lot of people are screaming for an FFVII remake but I think this is just an optimization whereas FFVII needs a full remake...
either way I'm getting this for my collection. probably won't play it for ages. I have a lot of FF to get through. :p

I hope they'll remove that stupid laughing scene :P
I might get it. I never finished that game somehow... I got up to the final area and stopped playing there.
-
That laughing scene killed it. it was so terrible *cringe*
-
You know, I played through the entire game and have no recollection of this laughing scene.

You must have thought it was so bad you blocked it from your memory.
Anyway I'm defiantly sold on the Vita.
FFX is my second favorite FF game and I really hope they include all the stuff they added in the international version.
Sony looks like it might have a chance of toppling Nintendo, especially if they keep adding games like this to the lineup.
-
Ah yes, now I remember it... must now burn it out of my memory again.
-
When you play the rerelease you can burn it into your head in HD ;)
-
If you're wondering what it might look like in HD I have this.

The bottom picture is taken with my PS2 running through component cables into my capture card.
The top one is the game running on PCSX2 rendering at 1920 x 1080.
Doesn't look bad for a game that's almost 10 years old.

I never did play FFX. I just remember people telling me they probably spent way more time on the sport (baseketball?) aspect than the actual game itself. HD would probably be a good way to play it for the first time.
Also, that laughing scene really rivals some of the stuff I saw watching my roommate play XIII.

Blitzball :)
I enjoyed X but I'm not sure I'd play a remake. Highly likely I'll purchase it though.
-
I'll get it, I loved X. Though I HATED Blitzball, I never understood the mechanics of it.
-
I hated blitzball too. controls were too sloppy. ill get this but probably keep it sealed. I have no intention of replayed ffx soon. (big backlog)
-
I just started playing FFX again on my PS3, thanks to this post. It still looks pretty really good. Not MGS3 good, but still.

Also, one thing I hope for with this HD release is that the characters look closer to the same in Cutscenes and the game play. One thing that always bothered me about the game was how different the in game models looked compared to the cutscenes.
-
Blitzball wasn't that bad once you got the mechanics down. Although they never really give a clear explanation in the game.

I'll second that. One thing I noticed when I last played it was that the low poly character models only have a thumb and index finger and the other fingers are fused together. I could never force myself to unsee it.

Ya even with the strat guide I never understood the game, ha.

Hmm really. I never looked that close.

Yay, I'm passed the "Laughing Scene", might give Blitzball a decent shot this time too.

rumor is that its more than an optimization
-
This is interesting, if it's true. The only thing cooler, would be allowing us to use our old save files. ;)
