Title: PAX Prime 2013
Post by: desocietas on August 14, 2013, 03:24:29 pm
I finally scored tickets and time off of work to go to PAX for a few days.  Anyone else heading up there?  Never been and, as long as I don't catch swine flu or something like that, I'm expecting major game overload and fun times.

Ha, yeah, I didn't snag the 4-day passes they had available, but I'll be going Sunday and Monday.

Leaving tomorrow to check out PAX on Sunday and Monday.  If there's anything you think I should go see/pick up, lemme know!  I'm not opposed to looking out for something if there's something there someone on the forum desperately wants.  Within a budget, of course.

Ha, yes, it's difficult to look at any DQ stuff without thinking of you!

I'll have to add a few pics from PAX (I didn't take too many), but I just wanted to report on the StreetPasses I got.

Started off with 571...
After two full days of PAX, I left with:
770!

I saw folks holding their 3DSes basically the whole time they were at PAX (I don't know how they got their battery to last that long).  I couldn't tell if they were just playing games (Animal Crossing was seen a lot) or clearing out their MiiPlaza or both.

I'm sure I could've gotten a lot more and managed to pick up multiples of folks as well.

I don't remember how many of the puzzle panels I was able to complete with all those folks, but it was quite a few.

I'll have to upload some pics later, but basically to sum up the experience:
- spent way too much money on Pinny Arcade pin collecting (the Behemoth ones were so cute though)
- the buildings for the expo hall and events were all very nice and comfortable despite it being 80+ degrees outside
- saw this great cosplay of GLaDOS
- everyone was super nice and not smelly
- panels were varied and interesting
- definitely need to be there for the full 4 days or whatever in the future -- two days was *not* enough to see everything
- mall sushi nearby = not terrible
