Title: Super mario 2 and 3 alternate label
Post by: Superstock1986 on August 23, 2013, 05:32:06 pm
Hi everyone

I was wondering how rare the super mario 2 and 3 alternate labels are? What's the value of them and roughly how many copies were sold?

I didn't know there was a SMB 2 variant.
On the SMB I assume you're talking about the "bros." being left side. It's not near as common as the "bros" on the right. As far as numbers, I have no idea.  The cost is about he same too.  I think most people don't even notice.

The SMB2 has 3 versions. Round seal, oval seal, and no seal. As for price, I'm not aware of any difference.

I would doubt there is any significant difference. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't even matter to most collectors, only the ones that have to have every single variant. That and I wouldn't really say any of them are "rare". Like mentioned, the SMB3 with "Bros." on the left isn't as common but I don't believe it's uncommon enough that it's rare or has any elevated value.
