I feel like putting glue or paints on the case might make the value go down as some people would see an original product as tampered with.

I guess it depends on how you feel about your collection, if it's for yourself and your own sentimental value than this would probably help make everything look really good.

Yeah, as long as someone doesn't use these methods to try and sell an item as something original, I'm fine with it.
