Good evening,
It seems that there is an error message cropping up whenever I attempt to upload an image into the game database. Specifically, I have been trying to upload cartridge photographs for Tron: Deadly Discs and Video Pinball (both for the Atari 2600) through images that I have taken with my scanner and copies of the games. However, whenever I attempt to upload an image the page moves to a blank screen with simply the message "Could not copy."
I must admit that I am quite new to this website, so it is certainly possible that I am doing something wrong which is causing the bug. The images are both .jpg and larger than 200x200 pixels. I have also tried the upload on multiple internet browsers, just in case that was causing the issue. I do have several other games for the Atari 2600 for which there are no cartridge images in the database. Hopefully if this issue can be fixed I can continue to contribute to this project.

There is something wrong with the uploader. A glitch probably?

How big are the scans? Both file size and dimensions, I mean.

I don't think it would produce an error, but I know we don't support PNG image at the moment. Only JPEG. Ill have to do some testing, but it could be a file size issue.

Scott, the images I tried to upload are the same as the dozens of others I previously uploaded. Size and format wasn't an issue for me at least.

Video Pinball is 912x1140 and Tron is 938x1340. Both are .jpg.
Good to hear that things are being worked on. I also have another question about these images, if that's alright. Some of the games that I own have various forms of markings on them: labels, people's names written in pen, rips and tears on the label and the like. For such games, should I still upload my scanned image or simply leave the entry with no image instead?

IMO I say upload away! better to have a marked/sticker/torn image than no image.
As long as its not stolen from another site that is... lol

Yep uploaded em! They caj always be updated If someone down the road has a better looking version. :)

I'm scanning some images in right now to do some testing. Is it only when you edit? or when you are submitting as well?

I got a "Could not copy" error while adding a game a few minutes ago, too.
I was editing games just fine earlier today; and I added four games too. So I dunno what's up.

Interesting. I got the Could Not Copy error too, but it pushed out the new item submission.

Good news! I just uploaded the disc image for http://vgcollect.com/item/19900
Originally I got the Could Not Copy error, but then I resized it to 200px wide and it took it. Maybe it's something to do with the code that automatically resizes the image when you upload them?

Well I uploaded standard sized Steam header images just fine earlier, and now it doesn't work.

Just tried the front box art and it spewed out some Warnings, and when I look in the admin menu it's only showing half the image. Hmmm.

Strange. On a whim, I decided to attempt to upload the box art images again and it took them, no problem.
Color me confused.

I added this earlier, it took the entry fine but the image wasn't uploaded. I tried to upload an image, and it still blocked it.
I'm holding off on adding more stuff until this gets worked out.

I just tried editing the image for http://vgcollect.com/item/3919 and it blocked the images, even after I resized them to 200px.
@foxhack roger, I hope we can get this fixed soon, but since matt won't be back til about Wednesday I am afraid we may have a lag in progress all around. Rest assured this is only a hiccup in the system, and we'll make sure to get it fixed asap. But, since I don't think matt has net access other than his phone, I doubt he would even be able to look at the problem until after he gets back anyway... *cry*

I didn't realize this was going on, and I just got the error when trying to submit a new item. Please do some editing to Onimusha Essentials. There are currently 6 entries in the database. Oops....
Oh yeah, none of the entries showed up under Latest Items, and it's definitely a prob. with the picture.

Cant upload any artwork either (im editing, not submitting). I get the could not copy error too

Hey all,
We are running out of disc space which is causing these errors. Unfortunately I've been traveling cross country for the past few days and haven't been able to address it. I just put in a request and the issue should be resolved later today.

I've been trying to add a game and getting "could not copy" did not narrow it down to the images. Hope this gets sorted out.

@snakes, ya the regular info still gets pushed out for approval, it's just not copying the images to the database for some reason. I believe Matt is back in town now, so hopefully he gets a chance to sit down and trouble shoot it soon.
