Grade-e-us or Grad-e-us
The second one, but I said "Rye-u" and "Gay-den" for years. So, you have to take that into consideration.

Graw dee yous.
Edit:
Well that was a waste of a 200th post! Ha ha.

I totally pronounced it as Rye-yuu and Gay-den before I learned anything about the Japanese language.
According to Wikipedia... Gradius (グラディウス Guradiusu, pronounced: Grah-dee-us)
-
I've always pronounced it Grade-e-ous. But then again, I also said Rye-u and Gay-den as well.
But, not only that, but thanks to lots of Destiny of an Emperor and Romance of the Three Kingdoms I also mispronounced:
Liu Bei - Lie-u Bee-I
Cao Cao - K-O K-O
Zhang Fei - Zang Fee-I
Zhuge Liang - Zoo-gee Lang
Zhao Yun - Zay-o Un
Ma Chao - Ma Chay-O
And a whole slew of others, but those stand out the best. It wasn't until voice acting in either Dynasty Warriors or Kessen started that me and my cousins realized we were wrong the whole time.

Hahahaha. I guess since a lot of us grew up thinking it was Rye-U, it makes sense why you thought the others were pronounced that way.
The Lie-U one just makes me laugh particularly because my mom's last name is Liu (pronounced kinda like "lew").
