Title: Rust
Post by: ffxik on April 06, 2014, 03:32:17 am
Ok I got curious and started inspecting my Intellivision games.  I have dealt with quite a few things with cartridge contacts, rust however isn't one of them.   Some have it pretty bad.  Any ideas on how to remove it?

Sadly true.

Generally not recommended but you can try to gently sand it away but you must be extremely careful not to remove whatever good metal is still left, if any.

I use CLR for rust and corrosion and it works very good. It requires some scrubbing and patience but it will remove rust. A very fine sandpaper will also work but I generally save that as a last resort.

Luckily the games I have are fairly cheap.  I can replace if need be.  Still would rather go this route first.  Thanks for the assist guys/gals.  ;)
