Title: Garage Sales (Re)visited:
Post by: disgaeniac on July 05, 2014, 03:46:55 pm
Topic:

Like the "Recently Added to Collection" and/or "Pre-ordered/Waiting For" threads

-but-

strictly for items found or bought at garage/yard sales, Flea Markets, Craig's List, etc.

Okay, okay already...Jeeez!

Fine!

I admit that it was half a case of just being too damned good of a reference/title tie-in to *NOT* use it  :P

Raise a hand/Bang yer head ("Metal Health will", indeed, "drive ya' there)" if ya' got the reference(s?) w/o "cheating" (Googling/Wikipedia-ing, etc)  8)

So you basically wish to destroy the other recently added threads?

It was too good a reference to go unused.

derp...no!

Don't feel bad - you're just very obviously not the..."Target" audience here  ;)

It was too good a reference to go unused.

It was...*Wasn't* it?!

(I knew that you'd get (at least) one of 'em)  ;D

I suppose we could put our stories here, maybe those items you didn't buy. But ya I cant see 2 different threads for finds.

Like this...

Stopped at one sale this weekend and it had a Wii with a bunch of accessories and maybe 10 games and they wanted $70 for it all. The only note worthy game was Mario Party 8.
They also had a PS2 (fat) with about 15 PS2 games and 10 PS1 games. for $50.
I wanted some of the games but they wanted like $10 a game to separate from the systems and the games I wanted where a couple Spyro games for the PS2 and budget titles for the Wii, so I just passed.

Then last weekend there was a lady who had a Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP (black 001 model) with 2 chargers and 2 games. Pokemon Emerald and Bases Loaded (GB) and wanted $30 for it. I tested the Pokemon game and the battery was dead.
She wouldn't take less and I passed. Maybe if it was a 101 and the Pokemon Battery was good I would, But I just didn't want to spend that much. Would any of you guys buy this lot for $30?

I really don't think two finds threads are needed here.  I think we should just hit the lights on this thread and keep using the Recently Added/Recently Purchased thread.

Or use the thread for a different purpose like TheFlea did above.

Maybe if the game worked and the GBA was in immaculate condition. Funny enough the SP is one of the few Nintendo systems I don't have yet. Back in the day I was fine-and-dandy with the original GBA so I never bothered to pick one up. Same with the DS Lite.

Might as well let it fade before the 4 horse-men  trample it...

Anyways...I think that Cthulu's calling!

And no, I have not. I was never a big Married with Children fan.

I grew up a mile or 2 from Paul Krook (a...'replacement' or 'secondary' guitarist of the band; iirc) -and- in high school, we actually played together in a "Battle of the Bands" or two...

I sang a bit -and-

*played* a mean rhythm (and a passable lead) guitar until I lost my left hand (over 5 years ago, now).

"Garage DAYS Revisited" is the name of a Metallica album.

The thought/idea that "Garage SALES Revisited" was just too good of a title/reference (relevant to this site & collecting) to *NOT* use...compelled me to make this thread & name it what I did.

Since the opening post, it's been (almost) all Metallica references (names of songs/albums, lyrics, etc) with some other musical references ranging from Anthrax, to Quiet Riot, to Pink Floyd, to the Beatles)...

Was that ever released on CD? I used to have the original Cassette release of the Garage Days Revisited EP.

According to Amazon ==> it looks like the original Garage Days Revisited was on vinyl & cassette while the RE-Revisited version is available on CD   8)

*Oh Yeah* -

The songs on it were all cover songs by other bands, too...
