Codename Gordon.
A good platformer that came with every copy of Half Life 2 until Steam pulled it.

There's the obvious ones, some of the "holy grails" that I've heard being talked about a lot:
-Albert Odyssey: The Legend of Eldean (Saturn)
-Bonk's Adventure (NES)
-Bubble Bath Babes (NES)
-Chase the Chuck Wagon (Atari 2600)
-Cheetahmen (NES)
-DuckTales 2 (NES)
-Earthbound (SNES)
-The Flintstones (NES)
-Halo 2600 (Atari 2600)
-House of the Dead (Saturn)
-Ikaruga (Dreamcast)
-Magic Knight Rayearth (Saturn)
-Mega Man Legends 2 (PS1)
-Mega Man X2 & X3 (SNES)
-Ninja Gaiden Trilogy (SNES)
-Nintendo World Championships (NES)
-Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn)
-Pier Solar and the Great Architects (Genesis)
-Radiant Silvergun (Saturn)
-Snatcher (Sega CD)
-Spider-Man: Web of Fire (32X)
-Stadium Events (NES)
-Sturmwind (Dreamcast)
And like 75% of the Neo Geo AES & MVS library.

Those are all valuable and uncommon, but do they really count as obscure just for being hard to find?

Enter that in a browser and boom, you got the game. It's listed in many "Free game" on Steam lists.

Yep, the link mentions that too.
I just mean it's not on the store and won't show up as a purchased game anymore.
Most folks have no clue it exists. :)

That may be, but how many have you found out in the wild?

There is a local mom and pop shop here that has Bonks Adventure (nes) on display with a price of $350.
He's had it for almost a year.
-
One of my favorite games of all time is definitely an obscure one.
Angband
(http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/0/7900/276761-angband.png)
Angband is a direct descendant of Rogue, the original Roguelike. ;D A game called Moria was based on Rogue, and Angband is based on Moria. It's a fantastic turn-based adventure RPG. Everything is completely randomized, so you'll never find the same rooms or treasure twice. Gotta be smart though, as death is permanent! If you die, you can't reload (unless you "cheat" and save a backup file). Don't be fooled by its simple appearance though, this game is incredibly engaging, with a wealth of ways to play and survive. If you enjoy games like Dark Souls or Diablo, high risk high reward types, you'll love this game.
It's available for free on lots of different systems.

This is exactly why I hope the bottom falls out. I hope he paid $300 for it and it's worth $10 tomorrow.

He's a collector himself. Started the shop because he bought so many lots he got a ton of dupes. Part of me thinks he doesn't want to sell it. :)
Then again, if you consider the fact that it currently lists for $400 on Amazon he is still offering it at a deal.

define a game. i could probably got out and find 100 Flash games that no one has ever seen.

Project Gordon made me think of another obscure game that had a limited release exclusively as a limited bundle pack with SoundBlaster sound cards. Twinsen's Odyssey, also known as Little Big Adventure 2 in Europe.
