I'm betting it's the PS2, but there might be a console with more.
PC doesn't count.

(Insert PC Master Race gif here)
I believe it's the PS2 if we count games that were released across multiple territories.

Yeah, a quick Google search turns up over 3,000 games for the PS2.
No other console I Googled came close. PS1 was around 1,400. XBox 360 around 1,100. NES and original Game Boy had between 700-800. Atari 2600 around 600. Most of these according to Wikipedia.

Think the xbox 360 or ps3 will catch up in 10 years?

I doubt it. All 3 companies are trying to push their next-gen systems, hard. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot less 360 and PS3 releases.

For portables, I'd say it would be nintendo ds followed by gba.

^ I would have bet money the original Game Boy had more games than GBA or DS, considering how long it's lifespan was.
But I just looked it up, after seeing your post, and yeah, GBA had around 1,100 and the DS around 1,500. Wow.

It's pretty crazy isn't it? I'm surprised the original Game boy only had about 720 games made for it, but it might have to do with not as many companies were developing for the system compared to the gba and ds, which were both huge steps up in hardware compared to their previous counterparts.

Technically I think the backward compatibility of the ps3 and xbox 360 would make them the victors would it not?
Not to mention all the Digital stuff that will never see a physical release.

PS2 by a pretty large margin.
