Title: Good, Cheap SNES games
Post by: turf on October 14, 2014, 03:40:38 pm
I just did a video about cheap, yet fun games.  (You can find my thread here: http://vgcollect.com/forum/index.php/topic,4482.90.html (http://vgcollect.com/forum/index.php/topic,4482.90.html))

I did that strictly about NES games, because that's what I played the most of.  Can you folks help me out with finding a solid list of SNES games that are still under $15?  I upped it a little since SNES is quite a bit more expensive.  It turns out most of the games I've played for the SNES are $20 and up.  Maybe y'all can point out some gems.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not up-to-date on the SNES scene, since I got a lot of the must-have games I wanted on it a long time ago.

But from what I recall, here's a few that were cheap:

-Darius Twin
-Final Fight
-Gradius III
-Hook
-Maximum Carnage
-Mortal Kombat 2 & 3
-Separation Anxiety
-Sim City
-StarFox
-Street Fighter II: Turbo
-Super Mario World
-Super R-Type
-T2: The Arcade Game
-X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse

Is T2 good?  I don't remember if I've played it or not.  Seems like I did and it was one of those arcade shooters that you had to control the crosshairs with your controller.

Good call on X-Men.  That's a real good game that I'd forgot about.  Thanks.  That's a good start.

Out of This World/Another World
Sim City
Populous
Eye of the Beholder
Doom
StarFox
Super Mario World
Super Mario Kart
Mortal Kombat II
Killer Instinct (comes close at $14)
Street Fighter II (all of them)
Final Fight 1 (don't, uh, even look at the other two...)

That's a quickie list off the top of my head and confirmed via Amazon.

From the top of my head and check on the loose chart price from PC. Price might not be accurate because I didn't check what its goes on Ebay atm.
- F-zero
- Mortal Kombat 1 & 3
- Street Fighter II & Turbo
- Super Mario Allstar
- Earthworm Jim & 2
- DK country 1
- Starfox
- Killer Instinct
- Nobunaga Ambition
- Ys III
- Batman Return
- Kirby's Avalanche
- Wario's Wood

I'll add more If I remember anymore.

That T2 Arcade Game is pretty good, but really hard.  I never played it with the Super Scope, but apparently only one player can use that thing at a time, putting player 2 at a gross disadvantage.

Batman Returns goes for more than $20, on average. That's one that is still on my wishlist.

And I meant Darius Twin in my original list, not Darius Gaiden. Darius Gaiden is on Saturn.

BTW, Sim City is rare example of a PC gaming actually getting a console port that turned out better than the original (if you can get past not using a mouse).

- Super Smash TV
- Goof Troop
- Super Ghouls 'n' Ghosts
- Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures
- Jurassic Park
- Chuck Rock
- Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse
- Aladdin
- Super Street Fighter II
- Magic Sword

Really I seen it go around $10-$20 (cart).

Funny thing is that spent around $12 on Ebay a while back for a CIB Batman Return (Nice condition). Little did I know it goes for $40-$50 CIB.

Wasn't that one of the few games you could actually use the Mario Paint mouse with? I may be imagining things, it's been a LONG time. ;)

The Addams Family
Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt

Two SNES games that I absolutely love. I got them years ago but I think they're still nice and cheap.
