Good post by IGN, they have a graph of the different games day/night cycle. Nothing more fun then being on the hunt for something and night time coming fast.....

I might break out the n64 now for some Zelda....

No mention of games that run on real time?

I feel as if Minecraft's Day/Night transition is shorter than 20 minutes ;)

This goes back to the Atari 2600 days. Games like Frogs & Flies and Real Sports Volleyball had skies that darkened as night fell.

A little more modern, sometimes I like to just drive around in Need For Speed Hot Pursuit on the PS3 to watch the sunsets turn to night and back to dawn again.

And of course, being a life simulator, The Sims games had great day/night transitions

I really like stuff with day/night cycles.  The upcoming Dying Light actually makes nights extremely dangerous by changing the gameplay where you are essentially becoming the prey, instead of the hunter.  DayZ has realistic cycles I believe, which meant you had to find servers that skewed the game time from the real world time, so you weren't always playing in the really terrible night time every day lol

I definitely would love to see more games that make night a more dangerous experience.  Zelda was brought up and I certainly remember skeletons coming out at night in the fields in Ocarina of Time lol

I feel as if a Day/Night cycle in combination with weather in real time in games would be great! Although I'm pretty sure it has been done before.
