Your favourite console, and why? Plus 20+ exclusives for it.
-
Either NES or SNES, depending on my mood. Nintendo's heyday when they were still on top of the world. They made some of the greatest games ever made in that era, and they had all the third-party support in the world. Great time to be a Nintendo fan.

It's a great time to be a Nintendo fan today lol.

Yeah, great first-party titles. But they're still missing the third-party support.

Gamecube. It's the first console that I owned, and I think it was pretty underrated back in the day since it got cast as a kiddy machine with the original indigo model and handle on the box, along with Nintendo not giving third-parties info on the console until too late. Despite that, it has a decent third party lineup for exclusives and has a great selection of first party games as well. There's a lot of accessories to enhance the console as well for online( as limited as it is), the best way to play the whole Game Boy library of games, and more. It's a nifty machine, and its one of my most used system thanks to the library of games, even with its limitations in some genres, features, and overall games compared to the original Xbox and Playstation 2.

Mine's the DS, by far. It's got a lot of really unique titles, a ton of exclusives, and a few great remakes of some of my favorite games for other systems (such as Chrono Trigger). For someone who loves the point 'n click and visual novel style, it's pretty perfect. It's also the only system I've ever really imported a fair number of games for.

It would have to be the first PlayStation for me which I got at the end of '95 at the ripe old age of 21. I know implicitly how Nintendo single-handedly brought gaming back from the brink and have huge amounts of respect for them. But PlayStation brought it home for me. It was-aside from the wreckage that was Sega Saturn-the first fully-3D gaming system that ran on dedicated CD-ROMs instead of cartridges and a CD-ROM add-on. Game series that I enjoyed from the NES and SNES took on a completely new life with their PlayStation sequels. New series unlike anything that came before arrived like Tomb Raider and Resident Evil. I signed up for PlayStation Underground and instead of a monthly magazine, I received two-disc packages full of demos, interviews, previews, etc. Sony also sent me dozens upon dozens of demo discs like MediEvil, Legend of Legaia, Crash Team Racing and so many more.
My top 20 games? Here goes with a brief "why I loved it" and in no particular order.
1) Crash Bandicoot (series): The first non-Nintendo/Sega Platform series that made realize others can make great platformers.
2) Spyro (series): Another great platformer that made me question Nintendo's dominance in the genre
3) Resident Evil: What more can be said? The birth of the survival horror's dominance & the zombie sub-genre.
4) Silent Hill: While Resident Evil was gory horror, Silent Hill was true psychological horror.
5) Tomb Raider: Exploring 3D "tombs" was born here.
6) Metal Gear Solid: I loved the NES stealth and this game cemented the genre and this series place in history.
7) Final Fantasy VII: What more can be said? It is the most beloved Final Fantasy and the one JRPG that everyone has heard of.
8) Gran Turismo: The first true, console sim racer. Nothing like it existed before it and it is still relevant today.
9) Twisted Metal: Vehicular combat with a backstory about psychopaths.
10) Ape Escape: The first console game to make use of dual-analog controllers. It was a pretty good platformer too!
11) Soul Blade: The beginning of the single best weapons-based fighter in existence.
12) Tekken (series): On par with Street Fighter for fighting games. King of Iron Fist Tournament indeed!
13) Fear Effect 1 & 2: Truly creepy, adult-themed games with live-motion backgrounds. Still love these to this very day.
14) Rayman: One of the most vibrant, gorgeous platforming series was born here.
15) Lunar & Lunar 2 Eternal Blue: RPG's made even more perfect with the most awesome packaging & extras ever conceived.
16) Grand Theft Auto: Who knew this fun top-down game would spawn a juggernaut franchise?
17) Parappa the Rapper: Kick, punch! It's all in the mind! A fun game that Sony took one big gamble on.
18) Oddworld-Abe's Oddysee: With a funny but sad story, tight controls and a loveable character. A true classic.
19) Colony Wars: A fantastic space-shooter. May not be considered "AAA" but I loved it nonetheless.
20) Everything else Squaresoft and later, Square-Enix released was pure GOLD on the original PlayStation.

Does PC count? I'm torn between Super Famicom/SNES and PC. For both system there are a lot of japanese and western old school RPGs respectively. SNES era console RPGs are to me the peak of the genre, while cRPGs on PC were just as great in an entirely different way during the 90s and early 00s.
In the end I can't decide but I know I've spent by far the most time playing on PC since I didn't get my Super Famicom until early 2014.

The Nintendo Gamecube. I am probably the only picking this one out of the bunch. I love the Gamecube. The console contains some of my first console gaming memories and some of my favorite games of all-time are on the console. I played a lot of GBA back in the day but never touched to much into to consoles. The first game I tried out was Sonic Adventure DX and was blown away. I may of only had the demo but I've played the Emerald Coast levels so many times that I could probably speed run it. It easily sits as one of my favorite games of all time without a doubt. Yea sure it was on the buggy side, but the intense gameplay and many broken controllers make it a gem in my eyes. Luckily since then I bought the full game on multiple platforms and always get that sense of joy I remember those many years ago. Not to say the system didn't have any other gems of its own. Super Smash Bros. Melee, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart Double Dash!!, Shrek SuperSlam, Crazy Taxi, Super Monkey Ball, and Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker just to name a few. I love the NES and SNES but the GameCube surpasses those by a long shot in my mind. It's a shame Nintendo wanted to scrap this quickly so they could work on the dreaded Wii.

Sega Dreamcast
I got my first Dreamcast during the holiday season of 1999 and played, loved, and supported it all throughout its very short life. I remember the first time I played Sonic Adventure and being absolutely floored by the graphics and high speed gameplay. Being a huge fan of the arcade, it was pretty amazing that the Dreamcast really felt like the first console that had arcade perfect ports on it which was awesome to have that experience in your home. It was also an awesome system for fighting games which has always been a favorite genre of mine.
In addition to that, the Dreamcast has a strange charm to it that I've never experienced with another console.
And of course I have massive nostalgia for the system, with tons of memories of renting games, getting games for XMAS and birthdays, and just countless hours of fun with it.

I'm gonna be weird and say that the original Xbox manages to beat all else in my mind, even though I'm a huge Nintendo fan and have since shifted to the Playstation hemisphere after the 360 lost me. Maybe it's just because of KotOR 1+2, but even to this day it's a fun console to collect for considering its games are pretty cheap. Had the best graphics of the generation, too! It's funny that I was never really involved in the major selling points for the console though... never liked Halo much and didn't have a live subscription back then. Just a lot of good memories (should point out I didn't have a PS2 back then, and if I had chosen it instead it would certainly been in the running).
Runner up is either the 3DS or PS3, I got both systems around when I started to get some actual income and I started to try out series that I had never had the money or time to get into.

The Sega Genesis is my favorite though I can't say that I've played it too much in the past 20 years. Back when I was a teenager I really got into sports video games and played a ton of EA's NHL and Madden games, as well as a fair amount of NBA Live and FIFA. I don't see too many fans of sports games on these forums, perhaps because they aren't very unique or interesting to collect. I don't play too many sports games anymore, but back then I was someone that wanted the new version each year. Aside from sports games, my favorites were Golden Axe, Phantasy Star II, and Warsong. I played so much Golden Axe that I had memorized where each enemy would appear. I'm looking at my manual right now as I used to write down all of my scores in it (Sega put in three pages labeled Scorebook) and while I can't really remember how the game was scored, it looks like my top score was 390.0 as Gilius Thunderhead. I've got Strength ratings written down here too and can't recall at all what that was. That particular score was 69.0 but I did have higher strength in other games with slightly lower overall scores. The game assigned grades too; I've received as high as A+++ which I'm guessing was the best 8) I know I played that game over and over trying to perfect my scores which is not something I do these days.
I'm not too sure I can name 20 Genesis exclusives and I don't really own that many non-sports games. Unfortunately I did trade a few in for credit to get Lunar: The Silver Star on Sega CD. It's the only time I've ever traded in games and still regret it a little even if not all of them were great. A few I traded it because I got them on the Sega CD Genesis classics compilation, though I still wish I had kept the cartridges, such as Streets of Rage. During the 16-bit era I also rented a lot of games from a local video store. I remember liking Flashback but not having enough time to finish it. I did finish Gunstar Heroes and Strider. Of course I've played some Sonic the Hedgehog games too, though I've never been a big fan of platform games. Ecco the Dolphin was a unique game but I don't think I played the original on Genesis. I did try it more recently on a Genesis compilation. Speedball 2 was a favorite even though I never owned it. I've got the first one on Commodore 64 and did later pick up Speedball 2 on XBLA. The old Shinobi games are fun too. Revenge of Shinobi's ending area had all of those damn doors and forced me to check a magazine's strategy guide :-[ Browsing the VGCollect listings quickly for some other exclusives: Moonwalker , ToeJam & Earl, and Herzog Zwei -- all games I did rent.

I would probably say the N64, even if it's not the best console, but it has some of my favorite games of all time on it and I love it's design (even if the controller isn't remotely comfortable lol). I'm certainly holding a bunch of nostalgia for it which might be way, but I just love it.
For exclusives, let me see...Not sure I can pull up twenty personal favorite exclusives, but I'll try.
1. Super Mario 64
2. Banjo-Kazooie
3. Banjo-Tooie
4. Donkey Kong 64
5. Diddy Kong Racing
6. Mario Kart 64
7. Goldeneye
8. Beetle Adventure Racing
9. Conker's Bad Fur Day
10. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
11. Perfect Dark
12. Pilotwings 64
13. Star Fox 64
14. Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire
15. Super Smash Bros
About all I could add. There are other good games, but I either don't have solid memories for them, or didn't play them enough to feel like I should add them. Like I never beat Majora's Mask and I don't want to add it there just because I'm a huge Zelda fan lol
If I had to pick another console with abit less nostalgia hanging over it, I'd probably say the Playstation 2. Tons of great games on it.
-
Definitely the SNES. It has so many awesome exclusive games and some of my favorite games of all time. Here's some of my favorites for the system (in no particular order):
-Earthbound
-Super Metroid
-Chrono Trigger
-Mega Man 7
-Mega Man X
-Mega Man X 2
-Mega Man X 3
-Donkey Kong Country
-Kirby Super Star
-Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest
-Final Fantasy II
-Final Fantasy III
-Super Mario RPG
-Sim City
-Contra III
-Castlevania Dracula X
I could easily keep going, but I don't want to make my post too long.

Original Playstation was the big one. It was right around the sweet spot of me being 11-12 when I started playing it. The Gamecube is also pretty special as it was the first console I purchased myself when I was in college and it was nice to re-immerse myself with all the Nintendo franchises I hadn't seen since I was a child on the NES (never owned a SNES or 64).
-
PS2 - It wasn't the first system that I ever bought with my own money (That was the N64), but it was the first console I was able to actually buy games for as I pleased. It had more refined 3D graphics than the PS1 and N64, which unlike the PS1 and N64, have held up really great today. The PS2 was the main system of choice for me for that generation and it's easily noticeable in my collection, the GameCube and the Xbox are at 19 games, where the PS2 towers above them with 116.
The PS2's Dual Shock 2 was a vast improvement over the PS1's controller too. I feel the DS2 is also much better built controller than even the Dual Shock 3, which feels cheap and lightly made. Where the Xbox's controller seemed huge and unwieldy and the GameCube's button layout seemed strange.
I can honestly say that during the PS2 era I was solidly in the PS2 fanboy camp, but, thanks to my friends buying 360s and needing one for multiplayer that all changed the following generation. Still the PS2 is my favorite console ever and still gets regular play in the game room.
Sadly I don't have time to put in 20 exclusives. But I'll edit this later.

- NES, why ?, My old and reliable has been with me almost all my life, this mothafucka is even more hardcore than today's consoles, it was created not only for fun purposes also to continue giving us a lot of entertainment with our kids, not all consoles can say that they will do this also a lot of their games still kicks my ass several times about the 20 list gotta think it twice and will post it later ???

It was like exactly the same as PS1's Dual-Shock. Just more colors to choose from.
-
Im going to have to go with the PS4. I had some play time with my PS3 when Ni no Kuni and Diablo III came out but nothing has brought me back into gamer mode the way my PS4 has. Ive already finished Mordor, about 65 hours into Inquisition and feeling the anticipation for Bloodborne, MKX, Shiness (a game I kickstarter backed and is supposed to release this year) and some other titles. Plus with ESO and Everquest Next going to be on the 4, there is nothing that is going to stop this landslide for me.
I know that the Playstation controller has been mentioned already but I actually enjoy the feel of the DS4 the most also.
Btw, not enough exclusives ... yet!

Dunno, I always felt like there was a difference. Plus my PS1 was mainly a non Dual Shock until way later down the line. Which is the reason I still gravitate toward D-Pad controls on driving games to this day.

This is a lot of it right here. The original controllers for the PS1 were pretty solid built. All the Shock controllers feel about the same to me with the exception of the new PS4 ones which feel pretty great.

The PlayStation controllers never truly bothered me it's just the D-Pad (Until DS4) felt very displeasing to use. To me it caused finger cramps in games like Mega Man X4 where precision is a must. Built-wise these controllers will survive being thrown down a flight of stairs or a couple games of Wipeout.

Favorite system as far as the best games and holds the test of time, by far SNES. The 16-Bit age is timeless, many NEW games are made to have this look because it is so timeless. Games from the PS1 and N64 days have some great games but most don't age well due to their early polygon graphic's. I love Zelda Ocarina of Time but man the early polygon graphics look dated today. Yet the ones that used more Pixel graphics hold up better and far as graphics go.
I always had a soft spot for The Atari 2600 just due to it was my first game console.
I also love my Neo Geo consoles, and Turbo Grafx. If I plug one of those in I'll be using it for hours.
As for game exclusives... (many of these games technically have been released on later platforms such as GBA, NDS, nintendo E-store. etc but I'm going by exclusives as of when they came out) :P
no order. off the top of my head.
1. Super Mario World
2. Legend of Zelda Link Between Words
3. Super Metroid
4. Chrono Trigger
5. Final Fantasy III
6. Super Mario Kart
7. Super Castlevania IV
8. Donkey Kong Country
9. Donkey Kong Country 2
10. Donkey Kong Country 3
11. Mega Man X
12. Mega Man X2
13. Mega Man X3
14. Secret of Mana
15. Earthbound
16. Super Mario RPG
17. TMNT Turtles in Time (ya Gen Hyperstone is similar but its not the same)
18. Star Fox
19. Castlevania Dracula X
20. Kirby's Dream Land 3
-
Turbo Grafx 16
This is the first console that was truly my own. I saved up enough to buy it when the price dropped to ~$160. I use to play a lot of shooters back in the day and this system had a pretty good selection to choose from. I never really had an issue with slow down, but at times the scan lines would make everything disappear (R-Type boss fights) or the sound card would favor the explosions over the music (Super Star Soldier drums cut out when enemies are shot).
I never had the cash for the cd attachment back then, so I'm sticking to the huCards here.
1. Alien Crush
2. Aero Blasters (sort of: Air Buster on Genesis, arcade name)
3. Blazing Lazers
4. Bonks Revenge
5. Bravoman
6. Devils Crush
7. Dragon Spirit
8. Galaga '90
9. Legendary Axe
10. Legendary Axe II
11. Ninja Spirit
12. Order of the Griffon (many maps and bum passwords that didn't work here)
13. Parasol Stars (still pissed I cut the barcode off to enter a high score contest that had no outcome)
14. Psychosis
15. R-Type
16. Sidearms
17. Soldier Blade
18. Splatter House
19. Super Star Soldier
20. Veigues Tactical Gladiator
The bad thing about these old games is that 80% on this list can be beat in under an hour.
-
I gotta say gamecube. Simply it's just the system I spent the most time with both single player and multilayer with friend. Lots of time play smash and Mario Kart, and even bringing it to high school and having a huge group of friends and even a couple of teachers play Soul Caliber 2 after school. And the GA Player allows me to also include the game boy series in my choice. :P
-
PS2.
Because it has everything covered for what one could ask for in a home console. And even if you can think of a genre that it is lightly-populated with, chances are they're available on PS1 which the PS2 can also play.
Ace Combat 4/5/6
ATV Offroad Fury 4
Buzz: The (*) Quiz
Champions of Norrath/Return
Cold Winter
Everybody's Tennis
Formula One 03/04/05
The Getaway 1/2
Ghosthunter
Gran Turismo 3/4
Klonoa 2
Road Trip Adventure
Sky Odyssey
Tourist Trophy
Transformers (2004)
Valkyrie Profile 2
We Love Katamari
The X-Files: Resist or Serve

Yeah you're right I think it must of been because of the graphics or something. They were really polished.

The snes has got to be my my #1 but the dreamcast is a close second.

SNES is by far my favorite system.

Some of the internals may have changed, but the PS1 and PS2 dualshock controllers used the exact same mold. The PS3 DS3 had a slightly modified mold to accommodate the different L2 and R2 buttons as well as the PS button.

Mine tends to bounce between the Genesis and the Dreamcast. But the Genesis is probably it. It's lifespan was around 1989-1998 putting me between the ages 4 and 13. It was what I grew up on. Sure not a lot of stuff was out in 98, but Toys R Us had discount bins full of games. This is how I got Comix Zone and X-Men 2. And now as an adult, the length of these games fit my schedule a lot more. It's hard to fit in longer games. But games that take 30 minutes to beat after months of practice are perfect. The dreamcast has a special place since I did buy that with money from a summer job. I got it on launch day. And that was the age I was going to the arcade a lot. The dreamcast, and its many naomi ports, remind me of that time. But the Dreamcast wins out by a smidge.
Exclusives are tough since SEGA rereleased these so much. It cuts out things like Sonic, Streets of Rage, etc. Some of these may have been rereleased on virtual console etc.. But I think it is accurate. I'll only do 10 to avoid looking for rereleases.
1. X-Men 2: Clone Wars
2. The Ooze
3. Alisia Dragoon
4. TNMT: Hyperstone Heist
5. Contra Hard Corps
6. Castlevania Bloodlines
7. Eternal Champions
8. Herzog Zwei (may have received a computer release...)
9. MUSHA (virtual console?)
10. Moonwalker

The Ooze is on Sonic Mega Collection Plus (or maybe it was Sonic Gems?). And Sega never re-released Eternal Champions? For shame! It was a unique take on 16-bit fighters, very cool characters.
X-Men 2 is a must-have on the Genesis. It's one of the reasons I bought my Genesis back in the day.
I still need (and really want!) the Contra and Castlevania games on Genesis.
Cadash is another you should check out for non-re-released exclusives. It's also on TG-16, but not a lot of people own one of those. Great little action-RPG that started as an arcade, believe it or not.

Even though it tanked, mine has to be Sega Saturn. I'm a huge fan of fighting games (especially the 2D ones) and that system had a HUGE leg up in that department. Darkstalkers comes out on PS One, Night Warriors comes out for Saturn. MK3 for PS One, Ultimate MK3 for Saturn. The exclusives were great, but even the games that did come out for both were better in pretty much every respect for the Saturn.
Then there were all those great Working Designs games like Dragon Force and Iron Storm. I know that they folded, but does anyone know why nobody has released a collection of WD games? It seems like a no brainer to me... :/

It's a no brainer gotta go with the PSP as my favorite console. A little background is I'm 20 so back when the psp first came out I got it basically as soon as it was released and I was 10 years old. The reason that it is my favorite console comes down to one simple fact that still hasn't really been replicated IMO. I could bring it on long drives or play it whenever and wherever I wanted in the car, school bus, bedroom, living room while the adults watched tv and guess what... I never ever had to worry about reaching a save point! Holy shit that was the greatest thing ever I could play games as much as I wanted and whenever something in real life happened I just shut the thing down and when I powered it back on I was right where I left off. This capability made my gaming back then pretty easy. I remember playing a soccer game so much because I never had to worry about actually finishing a game or simming it I just shut it off and was good to go. Also good in a few of the other action and rpg games with long fights that would have to be left on or abandoned on other systems :p And I can't even name 20 exclusives I just love the system for that saving aspect, unfortunately the games are near impossible for me to find let alone good deals on them.

PSP was and still is a fantastic little system. The Vita could be the same if Sony would just make some damn games for it and advertise that it exists! If you had a PSP 2000 or 3000 model, you could even hook it to your TV for big screen fun.
So, so many great PSP exclusive titles.
Castlevania the Dracula X Chronicles
Daxter
The 3rd Birthday (Parasite Eve)
Ape Escape on the Loose
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Dissidia and Dissidia 012 (Final Fantasy games)
Tons of Atlus, Square-Enix and Xseed RPG's....

Super Nintendo.
Reasons:
It has a great selection of games.
Like a Nintendo 2.0, both the system and game cartridges were far more sturdier and they can last a lifetime.
The color scheme is perfect.
The sound quality is, in most games, ahead of it's time.
The controls are not only simple and convenient, they paved the way for most controllers afterwards, especially the PlayStation.
Additions like the Super Gameboy keep the replay value even greater.
-
PlayStation: Dualshock was the best controller I've ever played with and I still enjoy the system. My 20 choices are:
Breath Of Fire III
Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night
Einhander
Final Fantasy Tactics
Final Fantasy IX
Grandia
Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth
Legend Of Dragoon
Legend Of Legaia
Lunar: Silver Story Complete
Lunar II: Eternal Blue Complete
Parasite Eve
Spider-Man
Suikoden
Suikoden II
Tales Of Destiny
Thousand Arms
Vagrant Story
Vandal Hearts
Wild ARMs

For me it has got to be the NES, since it is the first one I ever had back in 1988..89??? Why you ask? It is what i grew up with, it represents the re-birth of the Video game industry. I cant say that we wouldn't have a video game industry today without it, but would it be the same?

I couldn't get to this fast enough :'( Was gonna take the stuff I'm missing and repost the rest. Lots of Turbo Grafx here.

Wow, that's a great set! All things considered, that's not too bad of a price for everything. I don't have the heart to collect 100% complete in box Turbo games though.

Sorry for another post on an older thread, but I couldn't help myself, I just love this topic so much.
Are we allowed to have a tie? I love rpgs so for me, the PS1 and SNES are the kings of the castle in that regard. Prior to my collection being stolen, I had many great titles for both. My favorite rpg of all time is Xenogears, so I think I have to give the nod to the PS1. It's alot more fun to collect for as well. I enjoy the SNES, but hunting down the games you want that are CIB is a total pain, and with the PS1 double cases and instruction booklets, I feel like I am getting more and that it is a better investment. So PS1 for me.

N64. I played the crap out of it as a kid. I had a SNES and Atari 2600 before, but N64 was the one I played a ton. Lots of good games.

Although I have some great memories from my SNES and Gamecube, I'm going to cast my vote for my good old Game Boy Advance. Its vast library of SNES remakes eventually led me to buying an actual SNES later, and the e-Reader's small library of NES ports also influenced my decision to purchase an NES a few years after that. Not to mention it has backwards compatibility with the Game Boy/Color library. As such, my top 20 will draw from all 3 generations of Game Boy games.
1. Pokémon Gold
2. Pokémon Emerald
3. Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
4. Super Mario Bros. Deluxe
5. Final Fantasy V Advance
6. Super Mario Advance 2
7. Super Mario Advance 4
8. Pokémon FireRed
9. Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls
10. e-Reader
11. Advance Wars 2
12. Super Mario Land 2
13. Pokémon Red/Blue
14. Mario Tennis (GBC)
15. Ms. Pac-Man: Special Color Edition
16. Tetris DX
17. Bomberman Quest
18. Super Mario Advance 3
19. Yoshi
20. Pokémon Trading Card Game

While I am sure its not the "popular" opinion, mine has to be the Wii U.
I know, how can this under selling system be my favorite. I think it really comes down to what features the system has to offer, and how helpful those features are for you. For example, the GamePad has been fantastic as my system is in my living room but often times I want to watch NetFlix, YouTube or play games in bed. The GamePad makes it possible.
Also, the internet browser on the Wii U is great. Thanks to its support of HTML 5, I am able to watch videos on it. This is great as there are a number of anime sites that I like to watch shows on, and the Wii U allows me to watch them. Partner that with Netflix, Amazon Video, Crunchy Roll and Hulu and there is never a lack of things for me to do on the system.
I also have a large collection of Wii games that I can play on the Wii U. The virtual console also makes it possible for me to play some of my favorite NES, SNES and GBA games without having to breakout my old systems. I also love a lot of the games that come out on the eShop, like the NES Remix games.
While not perfect, I also like using Miiverse. Its a great way to talk to others who have the same games I am playing. I find myself surfing some of the communities (like Art Academy) for hours. There are so many talented people out there who can do amazing things with the GamePad.
However, just like with any system, its also the collection of games that makes a system. The Wii U already has a nice collection of games and there are a bunch I am still looking forward too.
Here are just a few of the games I love on the Wii U:
- Bayonetta 2
- Mario Kart 8
- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
- Donkey Kong Country Returns: Tropical Freeze
- Lego City Undercover
- Hyrule Warriors
- New Super Mario Bros. U
- ZombiU
- Pikmin 3
- The Wonderful 101
- Super Mario 3D World
- NES Remix 1 and 2
- Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
I also enjoyed some remakes like Wind Waker and Deus Ex but I'm not going to get into those as they really aren't exclusive, just exclusive features.
Games I'm looking forward too:
- Devil's Third
- Zelda Wii U
- Star Fox
- Mario Maker
- Splatoon
- Xenoblade Chronicles X
- Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem

There isn't a thing wrong with that. ;)

Favorite console? Gah! I have to go with the PlayStation 2. I remember getting a PS2 around Christmas 2003 with Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2 and Need for Speed Underground. The PS2 brought so much joy to my life. My friends and I would spend hours on the weekends doing nothing but playing NBA Live and taking turns playing Kingdom Hearts. Not to mention, it served as my DVD player. The fat PS2 is the king of all game systems!
I'll try to list 20+ exclusives I loved on that system:
1. Kingdom Hearts II
2. God of War II
3. Kingdom Hearts
4. Rogue Galaxy
5. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
6. Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
7. Final Fantasy XII
.... that's all I got. 20 is hard, lol.

Nintendo 64, just for Ocarina of Time, its the best game ever in my opinion :)

Only thing you didnt have on PS2 console was either Halo, Mario, Zelda. >.>

Okay that's total bullshit. You can't call the pokemon games different games because they're all the same game!

There isn't a thing wrong with that. ;)
For next-gen consoles, I WAS right there with you. Wii U has some amazing games, that actually focus on gameplay (imagine that).
But lately, I can't honestly say that anymore. Wii U has pushed back Zelda U, and from the last Nintendo Direct, they really aren't giving us much to hold us over in the meantime. Meanwhile, on the other side of things, companies are starting to shift to next-gen only releases; the PS3 and XBox 360 are getting left behind; and Wii U isn't getting 95% of the third-party releases.
It's starting to be time for me to think about PS4 or XBox One. Wii U isn't cutting it anymore.

Yeah, Zelda getting pushed back sucked. However, their last Nintendo Direct just got me even MORE pumped and made me see that I don't have to have "Zelda" to get excited for upcoming Wii U games. With SMT X Fire Emblem, Fatal Frame, Xenoblade, Rodea The Sky Solider, Devil's Third and more coming out, I have a lot to look forward too for the rest of the year and beyond.
There might not be much new coming out for the Wii U right NOW, but I'm so busy playing Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8 online with friends that I hardly noticed ;)

Doesn't appear to be. Valhalla Game Studios still has it as the "front" game on their website. I did hear that they were working on approving the game graphically and re-working the controls since what we saw at E3. Still scheduled to come out this year.
