I work for a small game store in Central WI and will be attending E3 for the first time this year!
I'm very grateful to be given the opportunity to go.
Just checking in to see if anyone else on the forums is going?

I thought they changed it so only press, gaming industry, entertainment industry, and vendors can attend. I thought it was closed to the general public, now.

I thought they re-opened it to the general public a few years ago?

Even if given the opportunity, I wouldn't want to go to E3. Annoying people from unreliable magazines, footage of yet another shooting/racing game and huge crowds of people who think their knowledge on the industry is supreme all under one roof doesn't sound like much fun.

I wish, and I live near LA haha.

Working on getting my pass. But I've noticed that I learn more about what is coming out when I watch the livestreams from work. When you're there, you're in long lines and unless you plan on what you want to get your hands on and are there for all the days, you will miss out on a lot.

They might have, I don't know. I just thought I had heard it wasn't for the general public anymore.
I've never been to a gaming convention of any kind. I would so love to go, if I could.
But I have been to a large comic-convention called WonderCon, in San Francisco. Supposedly it's the 2nd biggest one after San-Diego Comic-Con. And while it was way too crowded for it's own good, it was very fun. Lots of celebrities, lots of creator interviews, lots of cos-players, we got a free preview of a movie before it was released, I got lots of stuff signed, and so much swag to drool over.
If you have the opportunity to go, I say go for it. In a heartbeat. WonderCon was a lifetime experience I will NEVER forget. And I'm sure E3 is similar.

To my knowledge you have to be in the industry in order to go. I'm in charge of placing orders for my store so I applied and got approved for an "Industry" pass. I've been to anime conventions but never a full on conference like this before.

Would love to have you on the podcast!
Especially after you back from E3 to share your experience there! :)

I'd love to!

I wish! Would love to attend E3 or TGS.

Just looked up E3 2015 and the site clearly states it isn't open to the general public.
Take me with you, ziondood! :P
