Do I have to say more ?, guess that the title explain it all so let's begin 8)
NES: Mega Man 2 and Contra, these two were part of my childhood and purchased them as an adult.
Game Boy: Gargoyles Quest and Robocop 2, both were a gift from my cousins when they did't want them anymore.
Super Nintendo: Not quite sure if it was for the Street Fighter Alpha 2 or the Samurai Shodown.
Playstation 1: Mega Man 8, I am a big fan of the blue bomber and wanted to see him at the new generation console.
Playstation 2: Silent Hill, 2 cause I first bought the PC version but my graphic card wasn’t enough for it.
Nintendo 64: Super Smash Bros but in the ended playing the Mario Kart 64 and Cruis’n USA.
Game Cube: Resident Evil 4, saw the game at a friend home and totally felt in love with Rebecca’s leather costume.
Nintendo DS Lite: Final Fantasy III, took me a time but this one was the chosen one, yes I love RPG games.
Dreamcast: Project Justice, after kicked a lot of butts at the Arcades want to practice even more at home.
Xbox 360 : Gears of War and Dead or Alive Xtreme 2, chainsaw, blood, big boobs and bikinis, do I have to say more ?
Wii: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, when I heard that this one was going to be an exclusive for this console.
Game Boy Advance SP: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, this one was a funny story I tested this game at a Best Buy store, guess that I was playing for at least one hour so one of the workers told me that the game was at sale, told him that if he was able to found it at the store I will purchase it (before I started to play didn't find a copy at the display), after almost 30 minutes later he came with a copy of the game, they had one at the warehouse so I purchase it even when I didn't had the console yet.

Eh, I'll bite. I'm bored at work right now.
Super Nintendo: Mega Man X. I mean, come on.
Game Boy: I think it was for Final Fantasy Legend.
Game Boy Color: Crystalis.
Game Boy Advance: Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. More like Circle of the New Moon because that game was so hard to see. ZING!
DS: Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
3DS: The ambassador program. No...really.
Game Cube: Tales of Symphonia and Skies of Arcadia Legends.
Wii: Tales of Symphonia 2. *sigh*
PlayStation: Breath of Fire III, of course.
PlayStation 2: Ephemeral Fantasia.
PlayStation 3: Valkyria Chronicles.
PSP: It didn't matter. My first game for it was Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion, but I quickly got rid of it because that game was garbage. I just wanted a PSP since it was the latest, greatest thing.
PS Vita: I bought it for Ys IV, but my first game for it was Shinobido.
Dreamcast: Record of Lodoss Wars.
Sega Saturn: A tie between Albert Odyssey and Magic Knight Rayearth.
Xbox 360: Tales of Vesperia. As if y'all didn't know that.
Retron 5: I just got it so I could start collecting import SNES titles and so I could begin replaying Secret of Mana.

I did things in reverse. I wanted the console. Then I would see what it had to offer in the way of games.
-
There are very few times I bought a system for a game. My DQ PS4 however is one ... and it was for DQ heroes itself. So happy it got a western announcement.
I plan to buy a Saturn eventually to get Magic knight Rayearth again.
-
I bought a GameCube so my soon-to-be ex-wife could play Animal Crossing.
Most of the time I just buy a system and hope I can find some games I like.
-
There's never ONE game that made me purchase a system, it's usually there are a few that are adding up and then one finally releases that makes me go "Well, now is the time." Though I did buy a Wii at launch which was certainly helped by having Twilight Princess on it, even if I didn't like the controls lol
On Xbox 360 it was Dead Rising. It had a few games out by then I was interested in, but an awesome looking zombie game like that completely sold me. Right now, the PS4 is building up to this. Rock Band 4 has possibly pushed me over the edge, since I'm not getting an Xbox One.
-
I didn't buy the console, I got it for Christmas, but the commercial for Super Mario Land made me get the Gameboy.
-
Just systems I bought myself and I'm throwing the NES in which I bugged the crap out of my parents for! I'm also going to list more than one game if there was more than one that I just had to have! Systems I didn't buy at or near launch are not included. Handhelds like the DS and 3DS which I didn't originally buy for myself but my kids are not included. Some systems, I bought ahead of the release of that "big game" because I knew it was coming. For example, not that I needed the extra push, but the promise of Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec for the PS2 was mouth-watering for me! :P
NES Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda
GameBoy Tetris
Sega Genesis Sonic the Hedgehog and Altered Beast
SNES Super Mario World and Super Castlevania IV
GameBoy Advance Castlevania Circle of the Moon
PlayStation Rayman, Street Fighter Alpha and Ridge Racer
Sega Saturn Nights Into Dreams
Nintendo 64 Super Mario 64, Zelda Ocarina of Time and Banjo-Kazooie. Loved Banjo...hated the other two. Least played system for me.
Dreamcast Soul Calibur and Sonic Adventure
PlayStation 2 Tekken Tag Tournament, Onimusha and Zone of the Enders
PSP Ape Escape and Darkstalkers Chronicle
Gamecube Luigi's Mansion and Star Wars Rogue Squadron II Rogue Leader
Xbox Halo, Oddworld Munch's Oddysee and Dead or Alive 3
PlayStation 3 Resistance Fall of Man
Xbox 360 Dead or Alive 4...and knowing a new Halo would be coming.
Wii Wii Sports and The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
PS Vita Uncharted Golden Abyss
Wii U New Super Mario Bros. U
PlayStation 4 Killzone Shadow Fall...and knowing all the great upcoming titles

PS3 - Metal Gear Solid 4, Disgaea 3
PS4 - Bloodborne (despite not being out yet when I purchased)
X360 - Rock Band 2 (switched over from PS3 to play MP with buddies)
-
Tbh, never bought a console for a specific game. Always just bought the console, and picked out some games second.
-
If I ever found one cheap enough, I'd be willing to buy a Sega CD just to play Silpheed. Love that game.
-
The Metal gear solid IV 80GB PS3 for the same game...
-
Atari 2600 - Pitfall, Pitfall II
Colecovision - Donkey Kong, Chuck Norris Superkicks
NES - Super Mario Bros.
Sega Master System - Double Dragon and Ninja Gaiden
SNES - Star Fox, Star Fox II, Super Mario All Stars
N64 - Nothing. It was gifted to me. Only ever played Star Wars Episode One Racer
GB - Super Mario Land
Genesis - Sonic and Streets of Rage
GameCube - Resident Evil Zero & Resident Evil 1 remake
Wii - Metroid Prime Trilogy
WiiU - Mario Maker & Xenoblade Chronicles X
PS2 - Kingdom Hearts
PS3 - Linux & Blu Ray (not kidding. that one kinda didn't work out for me...)
XBox - Homebrew
Dreamcast - Homebrew

Phillips CDI - Burn Cycle
Sega CD - Nothing. I never intend to own a Sega CD proper. I do own Double Switch but I play it on my xbox.

PSP - FF7 Crisis Core (I actually bought a second PSP for this game when the first model came out that supported TV out.
Game Gear - Sonic, Streets of rage, and the Master System Converter.
XBox 360 - Nothing. XNA Studio development tools almost pulled me in but the failure rate on these things was too high for too long.
Xbox One - I just learned Shovel Knight for xbone has an exclusive battle toads level and it is an awesome love letter to the NES original. This honestly almost swayed me. The sequel to Tomb Raider being a timed exclusive is also tempting. But honestly not as much as battle toads. :)
PS4 - Infamous First Light and Second Son, Tomb Raider Definitive Edition are tempting. But I'm waiting for the TR sequel to hit PS4. Even then. I dunno. Not really pumped about current gen.
