As it's been hinted, Koji Igarashi is going to be making a brand new Castlevania-styled game. I was never huge into the series, but I think it'll be a cool game.

Backed the physical version. can't wait to get my hands on it.
-
Tempted to get the physical version, but might just go digital. Also as I post this, the project is funded lol
-
From my understanding, since the game is fully funded now, there will be physical copies. The physical copies from pledging just offer a bonus weapon and boss.
-
I'm in. Physical Copy for me.
-
Hopefully they make enough to get to the Wii U stretch goal. I'd very much prefer to have this on that.
-
So far, from the looks of it the stretch goals aren't going to last long
-
Another couple hours and they'll be done with all of them and we'll have David Hayter voicing the badguy, heh.
-
I already backed it twice, so I can get a physical PS4 and a XBone copy.
If they add a WiiU physical copy I might need to send another $60. lol

Goodness, that's a lot of copies of this game lol
-
Am I misunderstanding something? From everything I've read, the point of the Kickstarter was to fund a physical retail release of the game (plus whatever stretch goals are met), because Iga already had funding to make the game from somewhere else.
The physical copy you get from pledging $60 is just a special edition. You can still buy a physical copy of the game without pledging at all, though. I mean that's fine if that's what you guys are wanting, but if you're just pledging the $60 because you think that's the only way to get a physical disc copy, I don't think that's necessary.
At any rate, the game seems really cool and I'm looking forward to seeing more about it.

I don't see a stretch goal for a WiiU verson, where did you see this and how much do they gotta make to meet this goal?

Ya i'm sure it will be, but the special version with limited edition cover and extra content made me want to support it plus if everyone thought "oh I don't need to support it, it will come out anyway" it might not get the money needed to get made in the first place. ;)

In the FAQ section, they talk about a Nintendo version being an extra large expense, since it would be creating two different versions as they want to use the current gen tech to their full advantage, hinting that there's a possibility of it happening through the stretch goals should they make it that far, of course there only being up to David Hayter as a voice actor listed so far, I assume a goal like this would be in the million plus range.

The only thing I see about a Wii U release is a cryptic message in the FAQ section asking about it coming to nintendo and that is "That said, we've heard legends about a remarkable treasure hidden in the castle basement..." So maybe after all the current goals are met we might see something?
-
It's not uncommon for projects to add on additional stretch goals/platforms/goodies if the backers ask for it or they reach their funding checkpoints sooner than they thought. Hopefully you get your Wii U wish!
-
If they drop a Wii U version I'm in.
-
Dang, quicker than I thought, all current goals are wrecked and they are about to hit 900k.
-
They added 2 more stretch goals. kinda disappointed that we get cheat codes as a stretch goal, it just seems... odd
-
I plunked down for the $100 tier, gotta get dat soundtrack & my name in the credits. :D
As many times as I've played through SotN over the years, I figure I owe Iga anyway. ;)
-

This.

I'm bummed that they haven't made this a stretch goal :(. I'm hopping if they hit the $1250000 mark they'll do a Wii U version at $1500000, hell even 2-million.
-
I feel a bit hypocritical excited for this because it seems to be another "Iga"-vania when I find it hard to muster any enthusiasm for Yooka-Laylee being yet another Rare platformer. But glad to see both are incredibly successful and aren't suffering from Kickstarter weariness that has been creeping in the past year or so.
-
For those wanting a Wii U version: it seems pretty obvious to me that a Wii U version is a stretch goal, we just haven't "unlocked" it yet. For some reason this is being made complicated in that in order to see more stretch goals you have to unlock a certain number of "achievements". The FAQ hints at a port to something for Nintendo (3DS or Wii U unknown) by saying it's in the basement. We can't see the basement stretch goals until there are 30 achievements unlocked, and right now there are only 11.
-
I'm actually really excited about this. It just sucks that it'll be 2017 before it's finished.
-
I have a feeling this game will hit 2million plus, They made the $500,000 goal in less then a day and now they are up to 1.6 million. I hope they add a Wii U physical copy at 2 million, if they do I bet they add another million just from all the people who want a Wii U copy. I know I'll ad my $60 for a Wii U edition. ;)
I loved Castlevania SotN and I really look forward to playing this masterpiece.
-
I'm incredibly excited for this game, the only thing missing is Ayami Kojima. I'm really hoping they can get her involved even though they said she is busy on other projects. SotN is my favorite game and I still play it almost yearly. I'm going to frame the large print map for my office.
-
I got excited, until I saw "Xbox One, PS4, Steam"...I'm still stuck in the past. I still have to get an HDTV before I can even think about a PS4 or Xbox One.
-
This is indeed very tempting but I'm kinda mistrustful of the actual rendering of the game since they state that they will use 2,5D and we don't see any ingame gameplay. Mighty N°9 is also a revival project of a cult 2D franchise in 2,5D and the result is graphically really disappointing IMHO, it doesn't match the charm of the 2D installments.
-
So after the latest update it seems that once we hit 30 achivements, and unlock the dungeon, then two of the goals are listed: 2.75 mil for IGA's biggest castle, and 3 million for a Wii U port of the game( i think).
-
It definitely looks like it's supposed to be the Wii U logo. And it seems pretty likely that we'll hit $3 million.
-
Hopefully they can squeeze out another 500k for the Wii U version with 22 days left. I'll probably see about jumping in to support it next week.
-
They've been reaching a stretch goal every 2 or 3 days. Things have slowed down a little but it's still going strong. I would be very surprised if it doesn't hit the Wii U stretch goal and then some.
-
I wonder if the Wii U version will be a Digital copy only or a Physical copy. I have a bad felling It might be digital only.
But if it does have a physical copy, guess I'm pledging another $60. lol
-
I'll say it again, if a Wii U stretch goal is officially announced I'm totally in.
-
Looks like we will find out tomorrow if the $3 million stretch goal is a Wii U version.

It's official Wii U port at $3000000 and there's less than $8000 till it's reached. The people working on that port seem to mostly ex Retro Studio so it ought to be a really good port

So happy about this!!! The only thing that is keeping from committing is if it will be for a physical copy or digital only. I'm sure they'll let us know soon.

It's been confirmed that Wii U port is at $3 million, which we are only about 200k away if we count Paypal+ kickstarter totals. The only thing they haven't confirmed is if you can choose between a digital or physical copy like the other platforms( I'm really hoping they let you choose either one). There's also speculation of online co-op at the 3.25 million level.
-
Only 37k left for the Wii U goal, so it's guaranteed to make it with 13 days to go.
*EDIT*
They said with Paypal that they now reached the Wii U mark and it's getting the full spread with it...

Well looks like I'm dropping money on the $100 tier and getting my Wii U copy :D!!!!!!
-
While I'd like a physical copy, I can't afford it's crazy price lol
-
I'm probably going to pick up a physical copy before the Kickstarter ends now that the Wii U port has been funded. It also looks like there is a good possibility that the Vita port will get funded before the deadline as well.
-
So I see on the actual link that for $28 or more I can get a digital copy for PS4, XBox One, or Steam. But I don't see Wii U.
Is the Wii U version not included with any Kickstarter goals? Is that something that will only be available after the actual release of the game?
-

You pick your version after the game launches with a survey they send out to backers. I'm guessing they just haven't changed over the actual details yet. Read the latest update on it.

I got this confirmed straight from Kickstarter crew, too:
Koji Igarashi says:
Hi Nathan! The Wii U is available in all tiers both physical and digital--we're just unable to edit tier descriptions once the campaign is in progress. So back any tier you like and you can tell us your console request, etc. when we send you a survey after the Kickstarter ends. Thank you so much for your support!
-
Just backed the $100 physical PS4 copy.
-
The game is coming to the PlayStation Vita now too, yaay! ;D
-
Backed the Collector's Box
-
Damn finances! >:( Even though I have been unable to be a "backer", I fully intent to pick up a copy for both the PS4 and PSVita to support Iga and play another great game from him & his crew.
I was sold when they said Iga was making a Metroidvania-style game and the Kickstarter pitch video was awesome. The way Iga drank the wine, then pitched the goblet brought back memories of Symphony of the Night where Dracula tosses his cup before attacking Trevor.
-
12 hours to go. Get those pledges in to get that final $5mil stretch goal!
-
Let's go!
Rip $250
-
Aaaaand the stretch goals are done.
EDIT: All of the sudden TRAP DOOR aND a new stretch goal
-
I just backed it so I could get one of the special backer physical copies with the slipcover. I'm still on the fence about which system to get it for. I'll probably end up going with the Vita version.
Only a few hours left, will it reach that final stretch goal?
-
Caved and upgraded to the 60 dollar physical version because I am weak lol
Here's an "End of Campaign" stream they got going, with Frazier and Becky of Video Games Awesome.
http://www.twitch.tv/ffstv
Kickstarter has less than 3 hours left.
*EDIT*
5.5m goal is basically guaranteed with the Paypal amounts added to it.
-
Unfortunately, it looks like I won't be able to back this at the moment. I will still pick it up and try getting some of the extra stuff when the game gets released in retail a couple years from now.
-
Yay! The final $5.5 million stretch goal has been achieved! :D
-
Not only has the 5.5 mill stretch been reached but all the achievements have been gotten as well. It is the highest grossing video game kickstarter ever and its in the top 10 of the highest kickstarter ever period (just passed Reading Rainbow within the last 2 hours).
-
Its over. It got almost 6mill. :)
-
Most successful kickstarter campaign ever...for a 2.5D, side scrolling adventure game in the "metroidvania" style. That Konami wouldn't green light. That other publishers wouldn't back. That all the big publishers said nobody wants this kind of game.
Guess what Konami and everyone else that turned your backs on Iga? F YOU!!!!!!!
Imagine if Kojima, Igarashi and Kamia all founded their own new studio to make these classic games....one can only dream.

It really is impressive how all these publishers really do seem to be wrong when they think people don't want these franchises anymore. Heck, I've been watching the Super Best Friends play Freedom Planet, which is basically one of the best Sonic/Not-Made-By-Treasure games ever. Microsoft hasn't wanted to bring back Banjo-Kazooie properly, so now we got A Hat In Time and Yooka-Laylee. Capcom shutdown Mega Man, because they didn't know what to do with him, Inafune goes and makes the new Mega Man with Mighty No. 9 and Shovel Knight shows you can still do 8 bit and make it fresh and fun. And Konami failing so hard that they've driven some of their biggest personalities, who will go off to make their own games without Konami shenanigans. Man, I wonder when that Kojima kickstarter is gonna happen lol
