First of all I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!  :)

This Christmas I got..
Call Of Duty : Black Ops 3 (Xbone)
Witcher 3 (Xbone)

These two games as well as Fallout 4 (Which I still haven't beaten) will keep me busy for the next few months! Got a lot of money so I will definitely be heading to Eb to pick up some others!

Merry Christmas VGC'ers! I dont have pics yet of the stuff I got but I will mention them. I basically buy stuff for the family and pick up stuff for myself too from everyone (its the life of being daddy).

First I pre-ordered the DQ heroes Vita. It will be here in a month.

(That little tiny babble in the picture plugs into the system and protects the audio jack).

Next I had a blanket made for myself. Here is a picture of the image :

Merry Christmas VGCollect!

Between The Boy and I, we picked up some solid stuff today.

I pulled down:

Back To the Future (PS4)
Game of Thrones (PS4)
$170 with strings attached.  It had to be spent on NES games.

The Boy got:

Yoshi's Woolly World (WiiU)
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse  (WiiU)
Lego Dimensions (WiiU)
Mario Maker (WiiU)
Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon... or whatever the hell it's called (3DS)

It's been a good day.

No camera so just text haha.

But last week my dad informed me about a lot of games his friend had and he bought it for $50 and told me today I didn't have to pay him back for it.

Just gonna list what I'm keeping:
 - Mike Tyson's Punch-Out
 - Contra
 - Paperboy
 - Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
 - Metroid Prime
 - Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
 - Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
 - The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
 - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
 - Halo 2
 - Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
 - Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II
 - Super Smash Bros. Melee
 - SoulCalibur II
 - R-Racing Evolution
 - Top Gun Combat Zones
 - 007: Nightfire
 - 007: Everything or Nothing
 - GoldenEye: Rogue Agent
 - James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire
 - Forza Motorsport
 - Resident Evil 4

Then today from my grandparents I got Hyrule Warriors. Also from them I got a $25 GameStop gift card and from my aunt & uncle a $15 GameStop gift card which I put towards Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Then came home and bought Rogue Legacy and Lisa on Steam.

Buy the characters you like, unless you like all the characters, then ignore what I just said lol Plus only certain ones have real substance, like Megaman will be good for the Mega Man collection, the squids are good for Splatoon, Shovel Knight will be good for Shovel Knight. I didn't even get super in depth and I feel I bought too many.  Trying to sell off about a half dozen now lol

Really the only game I got for Xmas was Beyond The Beyond for PS1 as part of a Secret Santa I did. Just haven't been in the mood to get any games, so I didn't ask for any.

What I did get is a lot of cool DVDs and CDs that I've wanted (the two CDs with blank spines are Led Zeppelin IV and Rolo Tomassi Cosmology). I also got a new hi-hat cymbal for my drum set, and one of those drone copter things that you can stream video from using your phone. I'm not good at flying it though. Crashing, I can do.  :-X

I got a bunch of Snoopy/Peanuts stuff from my roommates. My cousin got me the WiiU Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival game. Other than that it was kind of a lukewarm Christmas. Of course, I usually just buy myself a bunch of games leading up to Christmas.  :P

I also received Pandemic the board game, which we played like 4 times this past weekend.  Also received the Firefly Board Game expansion Kalidasa.  Might not play that at all until they release the Whole Damn Verse game mat.

I like co-op board games.

V.s. I tend too get too competitive.

Thanks and btw, your Christmas haul is fantastic.

Lately, I've really been into finding odd PlayStation-related merchandise that wasn't for sale or is rare.  I think I probably have one of the coolest collections of "20th Anniversary" merchandise around.  I'm particularly proud of strange things in my collection like a PlayStation CD with all kinds of alternative bands on it as well as the E3 1998, 1999 and 2000 artwork PC/Mac demo discs.  They were for the press and never sold.  Just got a "swag bag" of goodies I bought online with a PlayStation shopping bag and stuff from the 2015 PlayStation Experience such as the magazine, Drawn To Death post-it notes, lanyards, collectible cards, a t-shirt and a bunch of other stuff.

It's good.  We are either playing the game wrong or the game is just ridiculously hard.  We played 4 times and I think we won once.  First time we ran out of cards, second time I think infections spread so hard we ran out of infection markers, third time the outbreak marker reached max.  We won the fourth time, but we were playing with 6 people (max is supposed to be 4) and we ended with the outbreak marker at one under the max, we were using 4 epidemic cards instead of 6, and we didn't cheat, but kind of cheated.  Right at the end, we knew we were in a scenario where we would likely fail, because the odds were stacked probability wise that we'd fail 3/5 of the time.  So we let the person undo a remove infection action and do a move action instead during their turn.  We made a decision, basically knocked it down to 2/5 probability we would fail, and decided what we would do and looked at the bottom card of the infection pile to see what the epidemic would cause, basically deciding right there, if it would cause the final outbreak we would quit playing before we draw the epidemic card, we were safe, and the way we would've played we would've remained safe, but I still count it as cheating.  We would've won without cheating, but I still think we must be playing wrong, because it's really really hard to win.

Yeah, I'm stoked about the two FFs. I finished the first one and started the second one last night. It's already gearing up to be more scary than the first.

Am I missing out by playing the vanilla version of Bloodborne? I haven't started it yet.

We don't really do presents for the adults in our family, just kids. My parents did give my wife and I $600, so we bought a freezer. We are each going to spend $50 on whatever we want, and the rest is being put away to go towards finishing the back yard.

Not at all. The Old Hunters expansion just adds more to it. You can download it fairly cheap, I'm just anal retentive and hate DLC. Especially when it's an expansion that is fairly significant.

LOL...me too.  If it's free from PS+ I'll download them, sure.  But I'm not spending more than two bucks on something I can only download.   >:(  That being said, if you are interested in the Old Hunters expansion, you can pick up a GoTY copy from China or Europe and they play just fine, in English on NTSC systems.  Though expect the normal higher price that usually goes along with importing a game.

And one final thing, I see you have the Bloodborne Collector's Guide in your collection.  I would recommend picking up the Old Hunters hardcover guide while you can.  It's reasonably priced and high quality.  It will match your other guide perfectly.

Thanks, I'll start hunting (ZING!!) for one. My only problem is that Future Press makes these things almost -too- useful. As a result, they're massive tomes that take up more space on the shelf.

The Old Hunters guide is nowhere near as thick as the original Bloodborne guide.  Probably about a third I would guess.

Haha, that was me last year! I throw my socks as soon as they have holes in them, but I was left with very few socks all of a sudden and didn't have time to shop for more. So when the (usually dreaded) "what do you want for Christmas" came around, I asked for socks.  :P And now that I think about it, this year I should totally have asked for pajamas... oh well.

This year, I mainly got gifts from China since my parents went on a 2-weeks trip there last month. I got :

-a super cute and fluffy vest that looks like a panda,
-a pair of super-warm socks that make me want to buy more (my apartment is always soooo cold),
-some ceramic chopsticks that make my cutlery drawer die from the weight,
-a crocheted pikachu plush with a crocheted pokéball bag,
-a wooden board with a pillow underneath, no idea how that's supposed to be called but it lets you have a "stable" surface to put things on your laps,
-my gifts from the great Kashell for the Secret Santa event

The more years go by and the more I realize how much my family doesn't know me anymore. The fact that we don't talk to each other all that often anymore definitely doesn't help, of course. But my grandmother was telling me about something super cool that she wanted to buy for me because she "knew that [ I ] love to draw" (I stopped drawing 8 years ago). And the wooden board's purpose was intended as a book support for reading (I used to read 3 books a week, about 15 years ago... now I read maybe 1 book a year). I'm very grateful that my family thought of me, but at the same time I find it sad that 1- we definitely don't talk enough now, and 2- they put money on something that I know I won't use.  :-\

While it may seem impersonal, my parents just started giving me money several years ago.  I think the last year they bought me actual gifts was when Mass Effect came out because I got the hardcover art book and the special edition of Quake 4 for the PC.  That is, if I am remembering it correctly.  My mind is old and fragile.   :'(

Guess that they didn't want you to believe in Santa, dunno why but a couple of friends experienced the same situation when they were kids now as adults they don't do the same with their children and am doing the same with my little girl, she lost one teeth this past week and we received the visit of the tooth fairy who leaved some bucks under her pillow  ;D

I was never "made" to believe in Santa, and I personally wouldn't have it any other way if I ever had children. It didn't ruin any "Christmas magic" for me, I just saw it as a great story like all the others I loved to learn about (like Norse mythology, for example). I don't like the idea behind lying to children while teaching them not to lie. That would have made me unable to believe in whatever my parents told me after that.
But that's just me, and I'm definitely not going to be the one to break it to my nephew that Santa isn't a thing.  ::) Everybody makes the decision they think is right, and certainly I'm not gonna interfere with that.
