How much time do you devote to gaming each day, each week? And how long is to long/too little?
-
Maybe an hour or so every other weekday. Weekends I might set aside 4 or 5 hours a day.
-
About 7 hours a week, maybe more, maybe less.
-
depends on my mood and if i got any new games. couple hours a week. to nearly 40 in a week when fo4 came out lol
-
About 10 hours per week I would say
-
In college I was doing probably 8-10 hours a day. It was pretty bad for a while. Since I've been working I've cut down to maybe 12 hours a week.
-
Depends on how much work I've got to do for my University courses, and how many hours I've got at work. I also play a lot more when I've got a new game I've been excited about. If I'm not really into anything at the moment, maybe 2 hours a day at most during the week, with a little more during the weekend. When I'm not busy and I've got something like Fire Emblem Fates to play, I'll play a great deal more. I was averaging more than 5 hours a day according to my 3DS when I was playing FEF: Conquest over the past couple weeks.
-
It really fluctuates for me as well so it's hard to put a definitive number down. When tests or school in general are really tough then I don't game as much, but on easy weekends or vacation I usually play more. I don't watch TV or movies though, so I usually game when I have free time at the end of the weekday. If I had to guess I would say maybe 1 - 1.5 hours a day on average.
-
Probably somewhere in the 7 hours/week range. Being married with kids does a good job at restricting my playtime.
-
To be completely honest over the past two years or so I have not gamed nearly as much. It used to fill most of my free time, but except for a few cases where I have gotten really into a game, I probably only get a couple of hours of gaming in a week if that. I don't know why, but often I'll start a game and then just not find as much enjoyment as I used to and end up thinking about work, school, etc. while playing rather than relaxing. I hope to change that with the recent release of Twilight Princess HD and my upcoming spring break :)
-
It honestly varies a lot. I may go a few weeks without touching a controller only to melt into my couch for hours at a time. I usually feel a bit guilty if I spend more than two or three hours on one sitting, though. It all comes down to my schedule.
-
At least 30-45 min during the schoolweek, 2-3 hrs ate least on Fri-Sun.
-
I finally finished school part of my job. So I play an average of 3-4 hrs every day.
-
When I was younger, I was so intensely involved, I had to play, I was playing over and over and over, then I grew up, went into the military. Lost the fun. Then fell in love with it all over again. So in the asking of times. It varies day to day. From 1 hr. To all day sometimes
-
Few hours a day, sometimes more since I have enough free time for it, so I usually end up doing a lot of gaming. Upwards of 50 a week probably.
-
If I'm in the mood 3/4 hours a session. If I'm not, well none.
-
I used to do 10-12 hours a day back in my prime, but since i have a family now and work a m-f i'm usually just relaxing at night with the family. After my daughter goes to bed i will usually squeeze in an hour or so each night depending on how tired i am. Weekends are where i get my freetime so on saturdays im usually doing closer to 8 hours since the kid is at my ex's and the wife and i just relax all day lol.
-
As of late, none. ;D
-
Maybe 3 hours a week?
Between work, a kid, and life, I don't have much time.

But you have over 2000 games ???

It seems to vary depending on what is going on in my life. If I have a lot going on, it's not unusual for me to maybe play 2-hours a week, so barely at all. However, when I'm not studying or have other major things going on, I typical game around 8-hours a week on average.

It's a lot faster to buy a game than it is to play it. ;)

Just as well it is quicker to buy then thankfully. You might be dead before you tackled even 1/5 of it saying its constantly growing. From reading the comments on here and other threads it seems the collection means different to each one of us. (obvious maybe) But still interesting.

I devote as much time as I can. It ranges from a couple of hours a day to six to seven hours during a weekend day.
If I bought a game, then I am going to damn well play it.
-
Despite what my wife would like... quite a bit.
Weekdays... 5 hours a day tops. Weekends... depends on my attention span, when Fallout 4 came out I would play from about 7am to about 10 pm with intermittent breaks here and there.

I figured that with my own collection. I got carried away for a spell; buying non stop and with an insanely long wish list. Then I figured I'd never get to play them all, so I trimmed it back to games I'd actually hope to play.
That said I'm sure when he's 65, his kid is out on his/her own, he's retired and life has slowed down. other than quality time with the wife; I'm sure he'll have plenty hours in the day to play games :D

I hear that. My backlog is ever growing.

It ranges greatly. But I probably get around 10 a week. Most of this is on the PC. My wife and I play a lot of World of Warcraft. That is followed closely by starcraft and Diablo. However, my console gaming is probably just 1-2 hours a week. My gaming number is just as high as it is because it is a shared interest between me and my wife for PC games. If not for that, the number would probably be between 1 and 4 hours.
It is interesting to see how few hours most collectors seem to get. I know I like retro games specifically for their short play time. When I do get a few hours to play, I like the games that are short. Most platformers can be completed in under an hour once you know how. Then, I have just one or two games that are my games of choice.
I'm missing out on a lot of classics due to the hours needed. I played a little of Mass Effect. It is clearly a great game. However, I just can't find the time.
-
I definitely play all day on the weekends. I've had few Saturdays when I didn't sleep, but that's cause I have no sense of time. If I don't play on weekends my BF and I hit all the game stores in the area. But I play maybe 3-5 hours on weekdays when I come home from work and class, if I don't have a lot of homework or fall asleep.
-
It's all dependent on what I have to do and my moods. some days I will play from when I get off work to when I go to sleep (minus cooking) ~4-5 hours other days I will not play at all. on weekends me and my GF make our rounds to game stores/pawn shops/garage sales that usually takes about 5 hours then we will either play games the rest of the day, watch tv, or any number of other things. so on the weekend it can go from ~8-10 hours Saturday/Sunday or none.

Too many hobbies, not enough time. I'd say 3-4 times a week I will do 3-4 hours per day.
