I just got word that the Oklahoma Video Game Exhibition will be back on June 16 at the Spirit Bank Event Center in Tulsa, OK.

I'm planning on having a booth again this year, going to poke out the stuff that's on my sales list along with some arcade marquee light boxes I made. Might even have a few extra animation cels to put out. I'm really looking forward to this year's show!
Anyone else planning on making it out?

That would be super fun. Maybe I'll have to mail you out some flyers to pass out as well. ;)
-
I'd do it in a heartbeat. :D
-
I'm working on redesigning it with updated info. So I'll keep you posted on it. I'd love to go to another gaming con this year, but I don't think its gonna happen.
-
Cool, can't wait to see 'em.
I, too, would love to go to some more gaming cons, but I seem to have a hard enough time making it up to Tulsa, which is only about 100 miles away. Perhaps things will get a bit easier to manage once I finally graduate. I think the hardest thing then will be trying to build up enough vacation time. ;D

I just remembered about this and had to double check the date. I'll take a break from my gba boxes and finish up the new flyers asap.

I'll be there with some of the guys from the OKC Retro Gaming Society. We were considering buying some booth space too but I don't know that it would be too worthwhile since we'd be in Tulsa. If you're down with putting stuff on your table I'll make some cards for you :)
-
Yeah Im definitely planning on being there. It should be fun!
-
Sure, I can put out some of the Retro Gaming Society cards, too.
-
He's gonna run out of room for his own stuff!
-
My sister got a table this year, too, so I should be able to encroach on her space a bit. 8)

Man I wish I could attend.

Man I wish I could attend.
Me too, there is nothing even remotely like this around me.

I've not done much searching, but I don't think there are any decent shows like this around here. Matt and I went to that show in Cleveland last year and it was pretty alright. Not as impressive as we thought it was going to be, but I walked out with a nice haul of Saturn games. I wouldn't mind going again, just because.
Sadly, Tulsa is a bit of a haul from Michigan... so no go for me, this year.
-
You know what they say ... if you start walking now, you will make it by Saturday. :D
-
I wish I could but thats a bit far from me :(
If there is any other northerners around here, there is a classic gaming con in Wisconsin that I attend every year. Its called the Midwest Gaming Classic. Its full of video game and pinball awesomeness :D

Texas is in the way.
I don't think I'd be able to go two miles without being shot at. :P

Just put on some silly looking cowboy hat and a piece of straw in your mouth and no one will even notice you through Texas!

Swim through the Gulf to Louisiana. I'm sure you'd have about an equal survival rate.

Believe it or not, we actually had two game expos from 2007-2009. Wished the other one would have lasted a bit longer, but being accused of organizing it for my own personal shopping spree took all the fun out of it. Turned it over to another person, who promptly changed the name, cancelled the 2010 show at the last minute, then moved out of state.

What's wrong with that?
-
That was on top of several other issues. The venue was a little less than enthusiastic about hosting and seemed to inject problems wherever it could. The person I turned it over to (also the one that made the accusation) was a bit power-hungry, kept tacking on various things and then dumping them on to other people (namely me) to handle. The event was essentially a school-sponsored even which meant it had to have a faculty supervisor. I suppose being a student trying to organize this mess was the first strike against me when dealing with people. Marketing also seemed to be a big issue, it was like we were tainted or something. Generated a hell of a lot of stress, especially with the classes I was having to deal with at the time.

Sooo, if there a date for next year yet? I was kinda thinking it could be fun to head out there buy things and rub elbows with a few VGC'ers. ;D
-
It would probably be about the same time as this year. And that would be cool if you come down :D
-
I've heard through the grapevine that it might be in October this time. Haven't verified this with Jesse yet but I'd be happy to pass along the word when I can confirm it.
