For a friend of mine and myself, it was our weekly get together to play BG 1&2, DD heroes, Champions of norrath, etc.

The first one was good, but it wasn't Baldur's Gate. It's was more a Diablo clone, than any thing else. The best part about the 1st one though was the bonus game with Drizzt Do'Urden as the playable character.

I'd much more prefer a true BG sequel, I played that game so much that I had 3 floppy disks filled with custom character portraits.

Post by: jobocan on March 15, 2012, 03:42:01 pm: It's "Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition", which people are guessing means it'll be the original Baldur's Gate with better graphics. I never actually played the original, so that might be worth checking out.

Post by: scott on March 15, 2012, 04:16:51 pm: The original was good. But II was leaps and bounds better than it. I never got the expansion for Shadows of Amn, and wish I had... I think it will run just fine on my PC though, I may need to revisit BGII soon.

Maybe I should do that too... I actually have BG2 (I think I have the expansion for it too), but I never played it beyond the start dungeon...

It's a "Special Edition" version of Baldur's Gate. It includes the expansion. No idea what else.

And it's a Beamdog Exclusive, which is the best way to ensure YOUR GAME DOESN'T SELL AT ALL. The fans already have the game in one way or another, limiting it to YET ANOTHER exclusive client will drive buyers away. Myself included.
