I finally get to post in this thread again after a successful yard sale yesterday! Yay!
Raiden Project has been high on my wishlist for a LONG time, since the Raiden series is one of my all-time favorite shoot-em ups, and this has the only home version of Raiden II (along with the first game).
I already owned DQ VIII on PS2, but it's nice to have a portable version since I have downtime at my work sometimes, and never did get around to playing my PS2 version.
I also got a Wii pistol accessory, only to find out it isn't compatible with a regular Wii Mote, that you need a certain Nyko Wii Mote for the trigger to respond properly. Stupid. I've had my eye out for one of these for a while, since the Official Nintendo Wii Zapper is a monster. Oh well, at least I got it at GameStop, so easy return.

Anyone know how you acquired this ToL art book, was it a pre-order bonus or something?

Well, today was a weird day for my collection. I made a pretty big deal for the end of my higher dollar NES carts so today I took what was left (about 300 commons) and traded them to a local store. When all was said and done, I got a cool grand worth of trade value at the store. While they were looking and evaluating the games, I found something that I never thought I would see together. All 7 dotHack games complete in one set. I left the store with them. :)
Since I had to remove so many games from my collection, I went and cleaned up my whole collection on here. It seems so much smaller number wise obviously but there is a freeing sense too!

I had to sell a substantial chunk of my collection back in January to fund a family medical emergency. My collection link in my sig is not accurate at all (probably at around 1750 games now). But I understand where you are coming from about it being freeing. I no longer feel the need to continually grow my collection, but instead have been focused more on playing the games in my collection more, as well as getting rid of filler I know I'll probably never play.
Am I still a collector? Yes. But am I going to buy all kinds of games I don't have already just to increase my game count? No.

That's sad to hear, Usually emergency sales result in allot lower than market value or high ticket sought after items gone from the collection wich are fun to play.
Good for the buyer, not so great for the seller.

I sold them all at their current going prices. I didn't lose any money as far as I can tell. I had about a 2-month window to pay for the medical expenses so it gave me plenty of time to come up with about $1500 I needed.
CV
Picked up some boxed homebrews.
- BUSTin-Out Vol. 1
- BUSTin-Out Vol. 2
- BUSTin-Out Vol. 3
I bought 10 $1 NES games. I have them all, but I couldn't pass up that deal. Had some solid games in the lot too.You can just send those my way, I probably don't have any of those. ;p
Batman Returns
Star Wars
Battleship
and 7 more that I can't remember. Still, it was $10 total.
I've been making myself pass up stuff just to resell. I relapsed on this one.

When I read a Sworddude pickups post:
Free, freeeee..free, FREE, FREE, free, FREEEEEEEE, Freeee, FRee.....Free!!
Ah, the science of earning money by collecting games.
But in all seriousness, maybe I'm dense or not paying attention but I don't get how it's free. I think it has something to do with flipping? That sort of thing confuses me. Somewhere, and somehow you exerted time and energy, and probably money. If you're flipping stuff enough to get free games all the time you're busting your butt in some way. Can't imagine where a place exists that there is still an abundance old games just drifting in the wild, in 2017. Definitely not around these parts.

I've known some very dedicated collectors and resellers, we're talking hunting for games a minimum of 2-hours daily, sometimes they'd hunt all day, and none of them could claim even 10% of their pickups were outright "free"
I'm guessing his definition of free is he purchased everything, but is selling stuff he found to make up for the cost of what he keeps, hence in the end he is spending nothing after recouping. If this is not the case, I'd love to know who just gives away $50+ games for absolutely nothing.
I've just always wondered how Sworddude gets nearly all his games for free. Sworddude?
I'm not good at mentally converting euros to dollars, so the wow factor gets lost there. I also don't think like a reseller. When I see a game I'm not interested in, I walk away from it. And lots? Most of the time are something I already have or full of games I don't want, so again, no sale. To me it's never seemed worth the effort to try and resell games and expect to get their full value.
