This is awesome. If/when these come out I'm going to be spending much more time outdoors!

Man I wish this was real but didn't it come out that this was a fake video?
-
I have no idea. I hope not!
Here's an article from Wired that proves that the video could be for real: http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2012/03/analysis-of-the-human-birdwings/ (http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2012/03/analysis-of-the-human-birdwings/)

I imagine it could be real ... I just wonder how big and heavy the wings would have to be to use.
-
That would be soooooo cool!
-
Better than game collecting? But you can fly in games too! Pop in that Superman 64 and voilà! :P
-
I don't believe that this is real. The wings don't look like they would be able to generate enough lift to get him off the ground and he isn't running fast enough to do it himself.
I'll believe it when I see a video that wasn't filmed by the inventor.

Well I'm pretty sure that the wings are made from a parasailing chute. He also obviously has some type of electronic device helping him with the outside of the wings when he flaps his arms.
I don't really think he has too much of a reason to fake it. From his blog it looks like he's been working on it for some time. He's also a mechanical engineer so putting out something like that as a fake would really hurt his credibility.
I have a feeling we'll be seeing more about it if it is real.

Or better yet Pilot Wings! ;)

Now instead of playing as Kid Icarus you can be him! Just don’t end up like Icarus by flying too close to the sun.

Well the guy came out and said that it was in fact a hoax.
