Well I mean I guess it wasn't September, but I just got a PS4 with Uncharted 4 August 22th, my first console that wasn't Nintendo, ever, for $269.99.
Next I got PS Plus for a month on the 25th for $9.99. Also bought a jet black Dualshock 4 v2 for $59.99 on August 30th. Alright now to the games.
Physical Games:

Rocket League Collector's Edition - August 30th - $29.99

Trials Fusion: Awesome MAX Edition - September 3rd - $15.99

I found two rare games for a rare Japanese game console called the Gakken TV Boy. They only made 6 games for the system and I already have 3 games. So after these I'm only missing 1 game for a complete set.
- Urban Combat 200X (plays a lot like Combat on the Atari 2600)
- Mr. Bomb (plays a lot like Kaboom on the Atari 2600)
And in the one that got away...
I almost got an Aero Fighters on the SNES for under $300. But the seller found out it was going for a lot more and refunded my money. "sigh" :-\

Picked up Yakuza Kiwami Steelbook Ed along with Yakuza 0 for the PS4 - guess it's time to get back into the series.
Plus recently got a few Super Famicom Games from my local retro shop since they got a new batch of games in:

I need to get back to adding things to my collection on time, but in the meantime:
Got Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth yesterday, complete with waifu pillow case. Wasn't sure if I'd like the series, but I've been watching a Youtube playthrough of the first game and have been enjoying it so far. I started watching the anime initially, and while it's good, it's nice to see the SRPG elements and some of the side storylines that didn't seem to be reflected in the anime thus far. Anxious to jump into Mask of Deception, but I'm sure I have more of the original game to watch through first.

I've been using it for remote play of some PS4 games I've been enjoying. Many great VNs available. I really enjoyed Freedom Wars, if you're into that hunting genre of games.
Danganronpa is great, Tearaway is a great one for utilizing all the features of the handheld.

Yes, yes I do. Plus the adventure of getting all of them and researching the releases is fun. I think I'll pick out a few other games I really like to do the same thing for once I finish this one. Feels better to get these than just some random crap commons on most systems. :)

Also the Pokemon Sapphire has a green shell on the back. Guy who sold it to me said it was a legit cartridge and from what I've seen on it and the board it is legit. Anyone know where I can replacement shells similar to Sapphires, or should I just leave it as is?

- Utawarerumono: Mask of Trurth - Launch Edition
I was at my local used game store and picked up a few games (see below) and as I was walking out I see something out of the corner of my eye and see a Gold PS4. I think... no... and take a closer look and see it's the Limited Edition Gold PS4 that was only given away in a contest by Taco Bell. :o
Then I see it's only $200 :o I ask the clerk if it had the gold controller and he says he tells me yes. Then he tells me it came in the store brand new in the box. I ask about the box and he goes to look for it and can't find it. After a while of searching and not finding the box he looks in the trash and finds it in the garbage. :o Thank god it was saved. ;D

I was going through a bin of Atari games at my local game store and find an odd label variant, I look up and only found a few people on Atari Forums that found this. So I just bought it. It was labeled with the Colecovision version of the label and is relabeled and the end label is orange instead of red.

I didn't hit a lot of sales but in the small amount I did score one great find.

While I was out hitting the sales I get a text from a friend of mine and he tells me he found a NES and N64 at a garage sale and sends me the address. But he saw it the DAY BEFORE. I think crap there's no way it's still there but head to the sale anyway. I get there and I'm shocked to see the NES lot was still there. :o but the N64 was gone. I see some decent games and ask a price and I'm told $100. Honestly not a bad price seeing it came with almost 20 games. But I got him to take $85. Here's what it came with.

I remember going to Taco Bell most every lunch break trying to win one of these. I never thought I'd find one just sitting in a used game store for the price of a normal one. (with the box no less) Now if only I can find the 25th Anniversary version like this. ::)

It wasn't a PAL region copy, but I remember seeing a Japanese version of this game for sale at a game store in NYC back in late May of 2006, a few months before it came out in North America. I think they wanted like $80 for it and being the huge FF fan I was at the time I almost did. Seeing how I later found out I didn't care for the game and that I am not proficient in Japanese it was probably for the best I didn't pick it up.

I think they wanted like $80 for it and being the huge FF fan I was at the time I almost did. Seeing how I later found out I didn't care for the game and that I am not proficient in Japanese it was probably for the best I didn't pick it up.
I agree with you not picking it up if you ended up not liking it. I bought the Japanese SaGa Frontier when it was launched in Japan and played the hell out of it not being able to read any Japanese. Liked it so much I bought the US version immediately upon release. I also bought Final Fantasy V new back around 1995 out thinking it was going to come to the US as my still owned EGM said it would. Well we know the story about that now... Haha!

variant or not it is a very common game let alone a copy of mario bros 3.
For cib it is more notable but also not really important let alone a lose copy of super mario bros 3.
It's even less of a difference than a platinum and black label if you would like my opinion.
Maybe for a more uncommon game it would be more important but really understandable for just another copy of mario bros 3, I'm pretty sure that many on this site do the same.

lol I don't know why but my town was a hot spot for gold ps4's in fact the taco bell I won mine from had 9 winners including myself that they knew about (all had pictures taken and hung up in the store). but I have seen at least 4 sold in my area with one still on sale for I want to say $500 still sealed.

It is for the user to decide how they want to put it in their collection. As he has already said, he did not know it was different. If he chooses to keep it as NES [US] or change to NES [CA] it is up to him. As you can see from jce3000gt's posts, some people do care about collecting variants, other may want to accurately enter items into their collections and many do not care. We do not have a care about how people put things into their collection, but the information should be present in the case someone wants to use it.

I remember going to Taco Bell most every lunch break trying to win one of these. I never thought I'd find one just sitting in a used game store for the price of a normal one. (with the box no less) Now if only I can find the 25th Anniversary version like this. ::)
lol I don't know why but my town was a hot spot for gold ps4's in fact the taco bell I won mine from had 9 winners including myself that they knew about (all had pictures taken and hung up in the store). but I have seen at least 4 sold in my area with one still on sale for I want to say $500 still sealed.
Does it still have its number card? what number did you get?
No number card. Wish it did have it. But seeing what i paid for it i'm not complaining. I was just so happy it had the box.

Finally got my Collector's Edition of FFXII yesterday after ...
- Mar 10: preordered
- July 10: received it, noticed some damage to the item after opening outside packaging
- July 11: contacted SE to ask for an exchange or refund (since item was still available in the store)
- July 17: sent the item out
- July 20: SE received it
- August 10: emailed to see if a replacement/refund was coming
- August 21: emailed again
- August 28: received a response back
- Sep 7: got a tracking number
- Sep 14: finally got the item
I'd never had an issue with SE before, and if anything, I'm glad that this only happened with something that was still available. Just frustrating going through over two months of them having my money with no item to show for it (good thing I wasn't rushing to play it). Wish they'd have issued some sort of partial credit or something but whatever.

I know this isn't all of them but here are the releases I have minus the Spain and Italian (and obviously the 2 Japanese ones in-transit). Once I get those Japanese releases I'll take a new picture and lay them all flat face up for another picture. :) I feel like an 8-year old kid when I get a new one in the mail.

I've got both of the Ultimate Hits from Japan coming and I have identified the Platinum item numbers for the Aussie/New Zealand so those are step two of my collection adventure. The Korean Ultimate Hits is likely going to be the hardest one to come by...
Are there any non-UK Euro Platinum editions? If so they are pretty elusive since I haven't found any yet while searching. I'm about to buy the UK Platinum new/sealed. :D

I went on an adventure today. Outside of Dayton Ohio there is a HUGE flea market that's twice a year. I got up this morning and said never been probably worth the 100 miles drive. I found some neat stuff not many games. My wife made out like a bandit with fiestaware (her hobby). On the way back I ended up stopping at my favorite haunt since it was on the way back and then I hit the Walmart Pre-owned bin.

I decided this weekend that I would check out the local places since I didn't have to do a lot of house stuff (for once). So I hit up the local Walmart, Gamestop and Goodwill which are all in the same strip mall area. I didn't get over to the local retro store because some reason they are closed on the weekends. I did find some good haunts and bought my first used game for Walmart. Works just like a new game so I'll be doing that again.

So today I got my first ever Xbox console ever. The Xbox One S Forza 3 with Hotwheels DLC Bundle and I also picked up Halo Master Chief Collection.
The whole thing cost me just over $400 CAD <_>
The thumbstick grips were given to me for free for some reason.

Stopped by a local game store and apparently someone traded in a huge container full of complete in box SNES and N64 games. The box itself was somewhat hidden away as the store owner had not gotten around to fully assessing the small treasure trove. I ask him if I could rifle through it. There were a lot of gems in there far outside of my price range like Knights of the Round, Final Fantasy III, Super Smash Bros just to name a few. He was nice enough to separate the box from the carts as I already had them. I ended up settling on these three....

Had to do some business in the city I work in on my day off. I caught wind that one of my haunts was taking in Magic the Gathering cards for store credit. (Good thing I have over 500,000 cards). Took some over and ended up with a few CIB NES games, some more Game Gear games and ended up hitting up Gamestop for a few items.

(Didn't think I need to put another entry in for my few finds today.) My wife and I celebrated our two year anniversary today by going to West Virginia. She loves FiestaWare. So we went on a tour of the factory. And she spent a small sum of money on dishware. Everyone needs a hobby right? As we were coming back I talked myself out of going to Pittsburgh and hit up a big retro gaming shop. I ended up going to a gamestop in Eastern Ohio and taking advantage of the buy 2 get 1 free sale on used games. But man the manager there was a super dick.

I saw this game at my local used game store and it was not in the best of shape, I looked online and saw one in great shape at the same price (including shipping) so I just bought the one online.

The next week I saw this in their store, Priced at $49 and it came with manual. :o The manual Alone sells for that. I needed it for my collection and I had to buy it. ;D
- Imperium
Last I saw an SNES Super Set box behind the counter, I asked how much? They told me it's just the box. I looked at it and it had all the Styrofoam, plastic and paperwork inside. I told them I wanted it and they let me buy it for $20.
INTV
Last they got in some INTV games and quite a few I don't see often, but one caught my eye and I was missing it and it was way under priced. I had to buy it. ;D

I so absolutley adore that game! One of the best, most atmospheric action-RPGs ever made. So many secrets to uncover, too.
But be prepared for some pretty rough graphics (very early PS1), and some slow gameplay. If you give the game a bit of a chance, you will level up and be able to move around a bit faster, though.
