This is for the original Wii from 2006. We'll have one more year till closing. So if you have anything you want from it, get'em now. Highly recommend Contra Rebirth, Castlevania Rebirth and Gradius Rebirth.

Man, I think all I can think of that I'd like is My Life as a King... Hopefully they'll announce compatibility with the Switch or something for games like that.

Note that the entire service will shut down in 2019, HOWEVER you will no longer be able to transfer funds to your account by March 2018, basically shutting it down even earlier.

Luckily hacking/modding a Wii is really simple and as far as I'm aware, all of the Wiiware titles are not hard to find.

I totally agree with Contra Rebirth, Castlevania Rebirth and Gradius Rebirth. If you need to xfer stuff from your Wii to the WiiU you'll need to do it while the shop is open.

I REALLY hope Nintendo plans on bringing over the Virtual Console stuff. That is the best part of Wii Shop.

It's all a plot to ween people off of Wii U so that they'll buy a Switch. They're also shutting down Miiverse next month.

Wii U eShop isn't closing though. Just the Wii Shop Channel.
Shame about Miiverse. I feel like it was a staple feature of the Wii U.
