Hey I'm Aniclod, I'm new to VGcollect but I'm not new to game collecting though, I collected games in the past but I pick too many consoles to collect for and eventually lost interest but now I'm giving it another try by collecting for the xbox 360 and the original xbox as well, at this time I have a tiny collection, stupidly tiny to be honest.
anyway I would like to know what games you lot would recommend for both of the consoles I collect for, I I know of the obvious games to get (halo, gears of war and etc.),I specifically love the cult classics, the obscure and underrated, so yeah I'd love to see what games you lot think are worth a play.

I would also recommend Ace Combat 6 on the 360, and Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, Outrun 2 and Knights of the Old Republic on the xbox:)

Might I add Vanquish to that list, it's on Xbox 360, PS3 and more recently it came up on Steam, awesome Japanese FPS by PlatinumGames, basically it's what that 'Maverick Hunter' game should have been if it had ever come to fruition.

there is one Halo game for the Xbox360 I either don't know how to play correctly or is a really bad game all together.
It is called in these exact words "HALO 3 ODST" there is virtually NO ammo in the levels leavening you stranded fighting countless enemies. ON easy your basically invincible without cheats and on normal difficulty the enemies are impossible and kill you.
While your stuck wandering around on the ground looking for full ammo weapons for shooting at them you taking damage. I don't get this game at all. My guess now would be to enter some sort of vehicle but they are all destroyed and the AI friends die vary quickly in that game >:(
take this, you need to drop and pick up different weapons every single time you run out of ammo, you can't refill ammo by simply walking over the guns. >:(

I'm a pretty hardcore XBOX guy but most of my suggestions are already put up. I will recommend playing Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind on the original XBOX--which will run on the 360.
I'm sure I'll have more suggestions later, my brain is fried.

Just a heads up about Morrowind: The Game of the Year Edition is riddled with bugs and stutters when playing on a 360. Your better off playing it on an original XBox, even though it is technically compatible with 360. I absolutely echo this suggestion, though.
I haven't seen Oblivion mentioned. That is my favorite entry in the Elder Scrolls series. While Skyrim was epic, it took some of the more nerdy RPG-stat stuff away, which I missed. Oblivion had a nice balance of that and real-time action.
I also haven't seen the MechAssault games for original XBox mentioned. Fan-freaking-tastic mech games that are heavier on the arcadey action than the boring simulator stuff the MechWarrior games gave us.
Jade Empire for original XBox is a fantastic action-RPG that is quite unique. It's set in Ancient China and uses a martial arts based battle system where you can learn different techniques to add to your magic attacks or special physical attacks. It also has a really cool good vs. bad system that really does affect the story.
Bionic Commando on XBox 360 is an overlooked gem. Such a fantastic action game that truly tests your skill. And the grappling mechanic, once you get the "swing" of it, is quite addicting.
I of course echo the suggestions of Skyrim, the Halos, and Star Wars Battlefront. Many hours spent in those games.
Panzer Dragoon Orta is another original XBox game I highly recommend, that has already been mentioned. When people say that games should be considered art, this is a game I think of. The graphics, the atmosphere, the setting, and the music all just combine into this wonderful, mesmorizing experience.
If you like Diablo-esque hack-n-slash RPGs, then you MUST play Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1 & 2 and Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes. Highly addicting loot-fests!
If you like open-world RPGs, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is one that does not get the attention it deserves. Amazing, and beautiful game with names like R.A. Salvatore and Todd McFarlane (of Spawn & Venom) working on the design. It feels a lot like Oblivion or Skyrim, but with a more satisfying battle-system.
I could keep going and going. I've been an XBox guy since the first system (though this generation, I feel I might have made the wrong choice).

Not really an xbox fan but I find it pretty interesting that no one mentions shenmue II, spike out battle street, bloody roar extreme and even the hyped stubbs zombie ;)
quantum redshift is also pretty interesting

Good to know about the 360. I hope this gets backwards compatible in the XBOX One soon...
We aren't really going to see many more original Xbox titles being added to BC for a few months unfortunately. On the plus side, after having tried KOTOR and Psychonauts on the One, I can easily say that the problems Xbox games had running on the 360 are practically nowhere to be seen.

Well for xbox 360 I'll second the recommendation for Allen Wake then Silent hill homecoming,Culdacept,Import Tuner Challeng,Nier and Pray for starters. Not sure about xbox I'll check later and update my post.

I didn't see it mentioned, but Stubbs: the Zombie is a lot of fun, I think there was an HD downloadable version on the 360, if not there is always the original Xbox version too.

I went and looked at my 360 games and noticed that A) some games aren't inventoried... and B) they are way out of order.
Bulletstorm, Bully, then Bullet Witch... whaT? Afro Samurai, Alpha Protocol, Ace Combat, Alice, Angry Birds, Alan Wake... wut? Dead Rising, Dark Sector, Dead Island, Darksiders, Darkness II, Dark Souls, dead space, dark... wat? I stopped looking at that point.
