I'm looking for something to sit on while playing my retro games, because sitting at the edge of my bed isn't terribly comfortable, so I was wondering if gamer chairs were worth looking into or if I should just look for something else. I mean, I'm guessing they're terrible, but maybe someone who actually used one could tell me if I'm right :P

I tried one out a while back to see what it was like. It wasn't too comfortable, and it was way too small for me. I'm 6'4" so I'd imagine they would be ok for someone a lot shorter than me.
-
Ronalopolis got me one of these: http://www.sumolounge.com/omni.php for my birthday one year. Crazy pricey for a bean bag chair but hella comfy...with some practice.
That's what I use for most of my retro gaming.

Beanbag chair (as mentioned above). I also like moon chairs for gaming but they aren't the best when playing an "on the edge of your seat" game.
-
I have used a desk chair since I have to sit at the edge whenever I play a game.
-
I tried using a few gaming chairs but they didnt make my back feel very good. Since couches dont work for me either i finally ended up moving all my game systems into my office and now i sit in an upright office chair. I found that to be the best comfy solution and i dont have to fight the wife for the tv. Best gaming decision i ever made

I have a really weird sized couch for my game room. Its low to the ground. I just need a foot rest for the thing now.

I was looking at those earlier, I'm thinking that they seem nice, but I wasn't sure about them... I'll look into it more then, since "gamer" chairs aren't seeming like a good option the more I read impressions of them. Thanks for the impressions :P

I have a leather love seat and some crazy side chair from the 50s in my game room. I'm considering picking up a couple of these to replace them.

They're about $400 though. That's why I haven't bought them yet :)

Ended up picking up one of those:

Not perfect (not enough padding at the from of the seat, but I can remedy that myself), but it's comfy enough and it does what I wanted. Eventually I may go with one of those sumo bean bag thingies, but for now this is fine.

I have one of those too. I may buy a second one and move my little bench-couch out. The only downside is getting out of them feels like a chore. :P

I want to make a Dragon warrior bean bag for my room. That would be cool. And I wonder how many I would have to make for them to toss in that gorgeous model sitting on them.

DUDE!
If you make one... make an extra! I'd totally sit on a slime while playing some retro RPGs :P

seconded! A Slime bean bag chair would be killer.

I wouldn't think it would be too hard to do a Slime bean bag chair, actually this may be something I look into now...
-
Ill check into it! :D

Awesome link. I sent them an email. Will update this when I get a response.

Got a response. They dont make custom bags ... only custom material. Going to look somewhere else. :)
