Also, I have a Backordered Pre-order on the Wii U, because the day they announced the price my one of my dogs got really sick, he had a seizure and temporally blind (turned out it was from a tick bite, he fine now), so I had to stay home that night, the next day, after work I went to gamestop to pre-order it and the pre-orders were taken off the computer 5 minutes before I got there, went home luckily I got a pre-order off of BestBuy.com and the next day I get an E-mail saying it's backordered. Also knowing mine is backordered and seeing people selling their pre-orders for $500+ pisses me off.

bestbuy.ca frequently has 5$ discounts on pre-orders, so I pre-order from them a lot (and sometimes they have badass coupons like 20% off pre-orders too). amazon.ca also does that sometimes, but I hate them so I don't order from them.

Just ordered Dragon Warrior 2 from Mikesclassics last night. I have been waiting to play this one since I finished the first one last year!
I checked it out myself. Their shipping costs are outrageous. It cost as much to ship two NES cartridges as the price they were to begin with and that was the slowest shipping option they had. If I wanted them next day, it would have cost $100 shipping.

Well, I think this is my first real preorder:
Brutal Legend with Soundtrack on Steam. I got it for slightly less than the asking price (about $16) so this game had better not suck. It comes out on the 26th.
I also got two virtual items with it. :p My heavy will rock that mullet like nobody ever will.
Its a really neat concept for a game. A lot of the creatures are as unique as it gets. Imagine a smaller version of an Elder Scrolls game gone heavy metal.

Etrian Odyssey IV shipped this morning!
Oh, some of the tracks that were on there were shocking. Children of Bodom is quite a bit more hardcore than alot of the stuff that the game was based around. Skeletonwitch is pretty unknown but not bad. A song I hadnt ever heard before from Static X popped up during playthrough and it took me back a minute. Had to pull up images of Wayne Static to show my stepson his crazy hairstyles. A lot of the music was new to me though. If you like metal at all, you should be pretty well covered with the all the songs on here.

AFAIK only Dodonpachi Daioujou (and DDP: DOJ Tamashii?) got a PGM 2 release, and Demon Front is on PGM1 ;) I'm not that fussed about DDP - I don't mind buying the odd console port of it but *checks online* I'm not enough of a fan to spend $500+shipping for the arcade version. Demon Front's one I'll definitely pick up at some point as I already have a PGM1 motherboard, it's just a question of getting the money and finding one at a decent price!

@desocietas SMT4 is not the only JRPG that coming to the 3DS, bravely default: flying fairy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bravely_Default:_Flying_Fairy) is coming to europe sometime in 2013 and for north america its being released sometime in 2014, you know the 3DS is becoming the PS2 of handhelds aka there's are a lot of JRPG's on the system

Well I put in for a pre-order on a PS4. But Amazon says that they have a "Launch Edition" and "Standard Edition". I guess the Launch edition covers their numbers for launch and the standard is for anyone else that didn't pre-order last night, lol.
Worst case scenario, I don't get it on launch day and have to wait for it to get fulfilled. Oh well.

Ya I think it's a nice bundle. But buying it just for the swag doesn't appeal to me. I just really didn't like the way combat was set up, that and they don't explain anything. So you have to look through a menu FAQ to understand what's going on. Even then I couldn't find answers I was looking for.
So I thought about it for an evening and decided that the swag wasn't worth it. And I'll wait for the price to drop.

I don't preorder as much as you do, but sometimes if I'm good I'll plug in important dates into Google Calendar. You can set it up to email you before the date, on the date, 2 weeks before, etc. (customizable). Only issue with that are the preorders that don't have concrete release dates.

Secured my Diablo III pre-order the other day (still peeved I had to cancel the PC one) which comes out in about 10 days. Also getting close on my controller to ship too.
PS3 for sure. Diablo 3 was one of the main reasons I wanted to pre-order the PS4 ... but since the 3 version is coming out in 10 days and the PS4 isnt going to be out for another 3 months, I went ahead and moved my PS4 reservation money to Diablo itself. Yeah, the fact that it's digital-only and 30$ is why I'm not buying it. The game had a physical release in japan, why not here? And why so small a discount? My current "screw Capcom" attitude after all their constant stupid decisions in the last 5 or so years is helping my decision to not buy it.

If I got it, I would probably import the Japanese copy. It may only be in Japanese, but I would rather have that than a digital copy.

Yeah, I'm not really a strategy guide person, but some strategy guides are almost like art books on their own, and considering the quality of that one, I might pick it up eventually.

I'm still pondering cancellation, only because while I can afford it, it kills the surplus I've been trying to build. I've also noticed that since pre-ordering the launch edition, they've done a few bundles w/ games for the same price (including one for Killzone), so I'm wondering if waiting a couple weeks longer, assuming there's no shortage, might save me 60 bucks in the long run if I can score a bundle instead.

Just popped in a pre-order for the Danganronpa: Happy Trigger Havoc LE w/ NIS. I'm not 100% sure what to expect, but it's being described as a fast-paced Phoenix Wright style murder mystery, which sounds like it could be REALLY cool!

Prices of $100 are normal for games which don't have an announced price, because this way they're sure that you won't be mad that they will charge more than what you originally saw ;) I'm really skeptical over a Wii U Zelda release in such a short time, without ever having any information at all from Nintendo :-\ I guess we'll see soon enough though.

You know...I was gonna' say that $50 for a Rorona LE sounded kind of high -but- after looking at it on Amazon (where new/sealed versions of the LE) are listing from $70 to $130; I'd say that $50 *does* sound like a good/fair price ;D

Just realized how soon the HD FFX & FFX-2 re-makes are coming out for the PS3 (pre-ordered the game itself last September) -and- I noticed that there's a *Really* pretty-looking strategy guide (for both games) that can also be pre-ordered for <$20 from Amazon...and so it is pre-ordered!I ordered this for my girlfriend as she's huge into FFX. I've never played X-2 so it'll be nice to try that for the first time. I also really didn't play X to it's full potential. I beat it in like a week on vacation once so I didn't do all the side quests. It'll be all new to me really!
I've still got original Brady (I think?) guides for the original games, but:
A. They're in tatters, and
B. This new version is supposed to be coming with the "International Version" content that was never previously released - in the West, at least.
Really looking forward to re-playing these 2 games again...it's been long enough for me so it won't feel repetitive/'just did/played this' when I play 'em again ;D

I tried, really tried to get into Blitzball and I just couldn't do it. I had a hard time with the mechanics and stats. In all I really do like FFX, the combat system in particular. I'd say it's my 4th most played Final Fantasy game.

I don't remember Blitzball being in X-2. I do however remember that basic math game called Sphere Break.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - MMO-RPG, Square-Enix, releases April 14 for PS4, out now for PS3/PC. Some people hate MMO's - if that's you, just disregard this. ;) I fall somewhere in the middle, I like them sometimes but I never get hardcore into them. My wife and I played the PS4 beta together recently (yes, we're a 2-PS4 household...no kids = more toys for us :P ) and we really enjoyed it. That combined with the fact that I hear there's a proper FF 60+ storyline to play through in the game has me very excited. I'd also like to find some other people who play or who are planning to get the PS4 version. :D Again, trailer:

Well...since Bobster's "Too good to be true" deal on Atelier Escha + Logy blazed right on by before I could get in on it - I went to GS today & pre-ordered it & will just pick it up there in 5 more days ;DThat deal went insanely quick. And I like that NISA's limited editions are ACTUALLY limited. It's a fluke that the original Mugen Souls set is still available, most of them sellout before they're even released.

Haha, it really does look like the spiderman font! Even though I love uniformity, I have to say I totally prefer the new spine... Red was kinda ugly :P And the new logo looks better, in my opinion!

I saw somewhere they are planning a PS3/360 release, but I wasn't sure if it was going to be physical. If they release a physical version for the PS3 I'll be sure to pick that one up as well.

Just preordered Pier Solar HD on the Dreamcast as well, along with the strategy guide. I wanted to get the Genesis version as well, but don't have $120 to blow on one game right now. You guys are going to talk me into getting that Pier Solar for the Dreamcast. I never heard of that game or any one in the series if there is one until on this forum recently... My problem is that I always seem to hesitate when it comes to a homebrew game for some reason.

Truth! I think I'm gonna rip this one, the Y's: Celcetta soundtrack & a few others to listen to on my trip this week. :)
We may need to start something : A sound track trade off. Borrow each other's soundtracks to rip them and what not. My soundtrack collection is pretty weak honestly and Id love to have a bit set to listen to.
I have a few soundtracks right now. Bravely Default, Witch, Ys Legacy, Radiant Historia (which I havent opened yet cause its still sealed first release version), Rhapsody, and FF VII Crisis core.
All my soundtracks are physical. But I listen to music on my computer while Im sitting at it. Having a few digital ones downloaded would be cool for me. Like I said, thats where my Ys one was and I miss it. :(

In a nutshell:
My 1st deal with Greg (Argyle) = he did his research, read my feedback here over the years, and (more than likely) talked to other long-time members about dealing with me ==> then, (as the "new guy" aka unknown quantity) offered to send to me 1st; which to me, makes sense & is just plain old "Netiquette" & the way things have always been done.
Then - Warmsignal (as a very new member to our community) requested that I set aside one of my Witch & the 100 Knight LE's...almost a month ago(?).
We even talked & agreed upon a price.
Then, yesterday, he seemed surprised that I wasn't going to just send it off to him in the mail -and- that (since he was so new) that I had the 'audacity' to actualy expect him to pay up front.
Lastly, "being surprised at the way I do business"...he just went & got it somewhere else :o
Not the end of the world since I have other interested buyers + (like I said) - I'll give the benefit of the doubt by not "marking/making" his "Permanent Record" (read: User Feedback thread) here start off on such a bad note -but- I *did* feel it worthy & deserving of a comment to the other regulars here who will be reading this to keep in mind...

The review + the fact that I saw how scarce it was already. There's no Gamestop within 100 miles of me that has it, and they don't even offer it online anymore. :o Most other retailers never sold it to begin with, so...figured I'd better jump now. And the only negative - if you can call it that - he said about the game in the review is that you have to like Rogue-likes to enjoy it. And I do. :)
Went with the CE because it was only $10 more, and I had a $10 Amazon credit anyway. Goofy stuff included, but I do like unique collectables (I have such oddities as a Starfox Adventures car air freshener and a Steambot Chronicles mini harmonica in my swag collection).
Even so, I may downgrade my Hakuoki as well - I forgot that it's a $20 difference on that one, was thinking it was only $10. The extras in that set definitely don't look like they justify $20.

I ordered Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children Red Book from ebay. I watched some YouTube videos late last year by a hardcore SMT fan who had pretty much every game in the series Japanese & US releases, and he went over them one by one giving a mini-review & explanation of them. That's the first I had heard about those GBC games. It's a 5-part video because he covers EVERYTHING SMT related - spin-offs, the works. Very informative & interesting if you're a fan of the series. One game I'm kind of waiting for is a lesser known title, Raven's Cry. Should be hitting stores in May. It's a pirate themed game, and I've been wanting to play a good one for a while. I like to consider myself a supporter of TopWare, they make often underrated triple-a titles. They've been in some legal trouble with Lucas Arts over some stupid chess game for the past two years, but they're getting ready to release Raven's Cry finally. I hope it does at least as well as Two Worlds II did.

I hear this a lot, but I gotta say I've had 4 orders fulfilled by them so far this year (Lightning Returns CE, FFX-X2 CE, FFXIV PS4 CE & a order of random games they had on sale) and haven't had any trouble with any of them. They all arrived on time (FFXIV actually got here before release day) and all in perfect condition. Compared to other retailers I've been dealing with online lately - Amazon, who almost always packages CE shoddily so they arrive damaged and Best Buy who not only packages stuff poorly but also has it consistently get to me the day AFTER release - they're doing fantastic. I can't speak for their customer service because I haven't had to contact them, but otherwise I have zero complaints *knock on wood*.

Oh sure, and I'm not denying that others have had problems - they clearly have, I've heard a ton of stories. I've avoided the particular pitfall you ran into by only ordering things together that release at the same time (FFX-X2 I ordered both PS3 & Vita versions together, I ordered 2 copies of FFXIV - one for me & one for my wife - etc.). As for customer service, based on my recent experience I'd be surprised if anyone could top NISA. Just unbelievably good service from that company, makes me want to support them that much more.

But seriously, it's not just that - I'm very impressed with how they email you before they ship a preorder to let you know you should double-check your shipping & billing info. A nice extra effort that's appreciated. And when they had the recent shipping snafu with Danganronpa (where they had apparently switched to a new shipping company for the first time) they not only quickly offered replacements to anyone affected but apparently corrected the issue because when The Witch & The Hundred Knight shipped it was packaged very well.
Basically, they genuinely seem to care about their customers, which is rare these days. :)

I'd bite day 1 if we were getting that sweet CE that the UK is getting, but since we're not, it's digital only (so it's not going anywhere) and my backlog is slammed I'll wait for either a sale or for it to be a PS+ freebie.

Sort of. The UK release has a box & some physical extras, but the game still isn't on a disk - the set includes a code for you to download the digital game.
Still, if that set was available over here I'd buy the game day-1 just for that Amano poster. :(

I *love* CCS, and was drooling over that set when I got the email the other night. Unfortunately, that's just too pricey for me. :(
I'd love to see it again, and I'll end up with it sooner or later I'm sure.
It's kinda cutesy, so I'll put that out there, but from the games you play I doubt that's an issue. It would be classified as a "magical girl" anime, but it's just so well done - the characters are all really likable, it's very funny, I adore the artwork and it's just a fun show to watch.

Well...of course, now it's not - they're saying 6 more months, and personally I'd add an "at least" to that. So I was going to just put another preorder down for the set in-store, just put $5 on it instead & then cancel the other one to free up all that credit. Except they aren't taking preorders for it anymore. No one is. And if I remember correctly, BB won't let you change payment methods. So...it's either keep $88 credit tied up for the rest of the year, minimum, or cancel the CE and probably not get it. :-\

I was honestly hoping for PS3 too. But seeing as the game isnt going to release til April of next year, I can understand why they are doing the most recent gen only.
Also, they are going to open up a Paypal option soon for people that missed the kickstarter ... If you guys are interested, keep watching it.

In the US, BB changed up their Gamer's Club - members get 20% off of *every* new game they buy year-round. And other deals stack with it, so they'll often offer a $10 Reward Zone cert as a preorder bonus (as they did on the 2 I preordered yesterday) that we'll get as well. So $60 -20% = $48 - $10 back = $38. If Amazon down here HAD been offering that deal, I would have only been interested for the games BB doesn't have that $10 bonus on anyway. ;)

Yeah just cancel your pre-order and move it to the regular version. I hadn't see those other Gamecube controllers, but I see why you want them, they look pretty badass. I might instead get the regular version of Smash and then pre-order the Mario controller.

Logitech's wireless controller for the PS2 is still my go-to controller on that system. And I've been using their bluetooth keyboard that was made/marketed for the PS3 on my PS4 lately, still works like a champ. :)

Yup - in fact (and I don't know if it's like this w/ the PS3 or not) but Final Fantasy XIV even recognizes the touchpad on the keyboard so you can use that like a mouse if you want. The only trouble I've had with that keyboard is that I used it so much that the letters were rubbing off the keys. :P Grabbed this from Amazon and it's as good (or maybe even better!) as new!

What I understand for North America is that Bayonetta 2 will be available either physical or digital. Physical will include the first game, and if you buy Bayonetta 2 digital, you'll get a discount on the first game.

I watched a gameplay video and it looks interesting, but the environments are very plain and barely look like PS3 era, much less PS4. Not that graphics are everything. But I'm just not sure it screams full price preorder to me.

Then again, there's still many weeks, several months, and my B-Day between now & when it releases and that *is* a very cool case for the 3DS...so, anything is still possible!

Personally, I'll take any release over no US releases any day. Which is why I backed Diamond Trust of London on DS, and Class of Heroes 2 for PSP. And why I'll buy any physical release of an Atlus title. Doesn't matter if it's on a large or small screen, so long as it's coming stateside.

I see big limited edition stuff by other companies all the time for games here in America, but Nintendo seems to very specifically never try to give North America anything special. Even Club Nintendo sucks more in America.
Mario Kart 8 had the spiked shell statue, Japan has the super Hyrule Warriors edition, with a lesser version coming to Europe, and we've seen it in the past with other games to. Is it simply too costly to even do a limited selection of special editions for us?

Even if you can't run the fan translation patch on your PS3, you can just look at the script online. That's what I plan on doing.

And believe me, I'm a card-carrying Vesperia fanboy - that game single-handedly got me into the Tales series. I will eventually own a 360 again just for that game, it's that good. And I'd love to play the extra content they added w/ the PS3 version. But I just wouldn't enjoy it having to read a script online while I play.
My understanding is the reason that game was never translated to English on the PS3 is because MS paid for exclusivity on it in Western countries. This is before they discovered that A) They will never, ever, ever, ever be successful in Japan and B) RPGs, while still very popular in the West, are still a niche and will never sell on the level of Call of Duty, GTA, Destiny, etc.
The following is my personal dream situation - but assuming the exclusivity was for last gen, it would be amazing if B-N ported the game to the PS4 & released THAT in the US. 8)

Various components have been in production for weeks, that's still ongoing. Once they all come together, they'll be shipped to SDM for assembly and we'll have a stronger idea of the assembly timeframe. I'll definitely post when we do. The main page and game's page in the PS3 section was updated earlier in the week with the actual box coversheet that's being used instead of the placeholder during the presale. The design of the original box placeholder we used is now the manual cover. The PS3 game was also officially re-rated to E10, just like the final PSP rating.

Traded in my Vita yesterday for a whopping $160 at Gamestop. Thought that was a ridiculous amount for a trade-in. Used the credit to preorder & pay off a Playstation TV, finished paying off my Alien: Isolation & Tales of Hearts preorders and picked up One Piece: Romance Dawn for the 3DS (technically used, but looks brand-new & even included the unused Club Nintendo code). And still had a buck left over. :P
Most of the Vita games I want to play are RPGs, and I'd rather play those on the TV. But my wife still has a Vita, so if I really need/want to play something on it I can. My 3DS has taken over as my primary portable tho, mainly due to its ability to play DS games. ;)

Yes, just console & charger. Mine was the original model, not sure what they're giving for the new one. The only stipulation is you have to be a Power Up Rewards Pro member - if you are, you should have a coupon code in your active offers on the site that will add $50 to the base trade-in price (which is obviously $110 ;) ).

It's 20%+ more? That will defenitely help the trade-in of some coveted games, systems, and coveted working phones. Ah yeah, the bf started working at Gamestop about a month ago and said right when he was hired that they were about to roll out a better trade-in policy, netting customers something like 20% more than what it used to be.
My local GS' newest *push,* that they've been annoying the hell outta' me with, is trying to sell me some kind of new "GS" credit card...is anybody/eveybody else getting this too?
My friend & GS manager told me that her store's expectation/quota is to sell 10 of these per day --but-- reality = that they're lucky to move 3-5 of em a day :o

It doesn't sound any different from something like a Target CC or anything else (only useable at their store and not as a regular credit card elsewhere), and the interest rate is awful, but it's not necessarily a bad thing to get for someone who has no credit or bad credit. They gotta start somewhere if they wanna start creating a good CC history.

Hoping to pick up Far Cry 4 tomorrow if I can see a PC port report from someone by then. I would imagine that at the very least they'll have their usual first print run edition with the mini artbook and CD, but I'm hoping we'll get a limited edition that comes with one of those Persona 5 Bluray discs and some other stuff.

I'm in the same boat as you. I wasn't crazy about the colors being offered, but I keep telling myself that it's going to get modded anyway, and I have to let it go. Thankfully we were able to get one of the MM CEs as well, and we'll be anxiously awaiting the Monster Hunter 4U CEs.

Yup, the two modders you'll usually see named off when people talk about 3DS modding is Loopy (3dscapture.com) and Katsukity (3dsvideocapture.com). They're often mistaken for each other (as you can tell by the URLs), but the big thing is that folks usually care about is that Loopy is US-based while Katsukity is Japan-based, and Katsukity offers a lot more in regard to what systems they will mod. Loopy currently only does DS and 3DS (non-XL, non-New) but is currently working on the XL boards and the New 3DS XL. He also just put up the mod (for self-install only) for people to plug in various controllers into their 2DS/3DS/3DS XL.
You should expect to pay about $200-$250 for the installation of a capture card into your 3DS, though he hasn't put any prices up yet. I have a DS modded from him, and that only cost $75. No telling if the regular 3DS capture card will also go down in price.
The video output goes to your PC, so you can play 3DS/DS games on your computer monitor. It works great for my modded DS! The original DS's screen is pretty terrible compared to a 24" computer monitor, ha.

I just pre-ordered Xenoblade Chronicles on the 3DS. I'm pretty happy to finally get around to playing it. Didn't own a Wii when it released and it sounds abit pricey to buy now, so getting it cheaper and without any possible motion controls is good to me.

The downgrade is a bit expected to be honest. The 3DS has some graphical features that give it a mix between Gamecube/Wii in graphical power, and the reason why it's only on the New 3DS, is because apparently the design of the original 3DS has a graphical bottleneck that can limit the GPU performance thanks to the CPU. Yeah, well come games do look amazing on the 3DS such as the legend of zelda remakes, but that's only comparing from the previous games. The 3DS is still a fantastic system as far as for portable gaming.

I'm assuming you're talking about The Last Guardian here. Not sure, honestly - I *think* there will be physical copies sold at retail, but they've also said the Kickstarter copies will have exclusive content.

I'm pretty sure I only preordered the LE because it wasn't too much more expensive than preordering the standard edition, not to get the Wii version.

Have they made any adjustments to the game play in this version? That special edition looks neat, despite the fact that the size L tee-shirt would look like a tent on me.
Odin Sphere was a gorgeous looking game, but playing it on the other hand...yikes.

“Because we released it with slowdowns and such, we couldn’t just do a simple HD-ification.
“We didn’t want to seem like we thought, ‘sure enough it’s an old title, so,’—so instead thought we should rebuild it all again as we would a new VanillaWare game.
“But on the other hand, since I’m sure we’ll have players that value the original version, we have the completely preserved original version included in HD [via Classic Mode]. We decided to make it a double-feature.”
Regarding new mechanics…
“We’re putting in mid-boss monsters not included in the original version. They’re called mid-bosses, but they’re more splendidly made than the old bosses. And enemies from the original game have a new thought logic to them, so you can play it with a fresh sense.
“The controls have a Dragon’s Crown and Muramasa-like familiarity and easier sense of control to them.”

Was also going to preorder The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Amiibo combo but I was in a hurry and waited (like an idiot) until after I got to university this morning to put my preorder in aaaaaand now it's unavailable. Hopefully it is no more than a baseless rumor and it will go up for preorder here soon so I can save some money.

Thanks. :) It would be nice to save some money. Then again, after thinking about it some more I know Amazon would probably send it in a bubble mailer. Games get mushed enough when those morons pack big expensive games with bubble mailers for packages sent within Canada, I don't even want to imagine what kind of shape it would arrive in after going through customs. :o EB Games does a better job of packing stuff in general, so I'd assume GameStop is the same with you Amerifriends.

Well, apparently the TMS #FE special edition is an EB Games exclusive in Canada. This news is coming from their official Twitter account, so there's no reason to doubt that. This gives me the impression that they think they can rip us off and charge $120 just because no other retailers will be carrying it out here, which really pisses me off. >:( I might just cancel my preorder from GameStop for that reason (since they're owned by the same company). There seems to be little demand for it. Preorders have been up for it on EB and GameStop for days now and at this point it seems that there's really no reason for it to be difficult to get later. I already have a 30% off promo preorder for the standard edition through Best Buy, so it's not like I won't be playing it at launch.

They let you use 8bitdo blu tooth game pads with your old NES. :)

I'm happy that I have purple GameCube. :) When I get an N64 it would be sweet to get my hands on one of the colored versions.
