I may have missed something in a previous post, but are there any plans to bring back the page that shows graphs and stats pertaining to a user's collection?

Yes there is. These pages are actually in place but no content there yet: http://vgcollect.com/about/(insert username here)

I'll add that to the list.

What's the status of the feed?  I'm anxious to see how that will look.

Keep up the good work!  I really like the site and use it all the time.

Oh, are the badges no longer going to be used?  I kinda liked seeing them!

Thank you sir! The feed is there and while I have big plans for it you probably won't see any changes to it for a bit. Other items have just taken priority right now.

The badges will be making a come pack once the profiles and stats pages are done.

All I see is "Hey everyone - the feed will launching soon! Matt".  Am I missing something?

Ah yes. It doesn't seem to list your own activity. But it lists the activity of the people you are following... So like for me I have a bunch of things listed from the people I have on follow and I see when they add or remove games from their collections and wishlists.

http://vgcollect.com/feed/scott doesn't show me anything. I assume this is because it's not my feed? :P

Next on my list! Outside of trying to get the Android app to compile so we can open source it.

Can wait to see Android improvements!   I use it all the time.

Right now I'm just really prepping it for open source. I broke it about a year ago so in it's current state it still won't run without crashing.  So I have to figure that out as well as remove a bunch of hardcoded string which included the live API key.

I don't know anything about coding, but was just wondering if there was a way to have a checkbox or something next to each data entry line in the "submit form" page that we could check off that might say "not applicable"?

Maybe there'd be a way for "not applicable" fields to then just not show up at all on the item page.  Just added a few plushie records and thought it'd be useful for those instances.

Thanks, Matt, and keep up the good work!

You know previously we actually had different fields on some of those pages depending on the category. This is definitely something I'd like to revisit since it is impossible to have a universal form.

Would love to see the 'My Stuff' on the items page added to your list.  Currently there is no way while on an item page to see your 'instances' of it in your collection/edit them/etc.  I was assuming this is where that feature would be.

Geez yeah I totally forgot about the "My Stuff" tab. Adding it to the list!

Once all of the bugs are squashed, are you still planning to implement custom user lists?  This was the first item on ToDo 1.0, and a feature I will find very useful.  I hope it will eventually be possible, but either way thanks as always for your diligent work!

Yes I'm looking into that. If you check the feedback forum there is a thread going on now that talks about it.

  • Look into encoding issues. Everything needs to be UTF-8

I don't know how your site is built, but isn't it a quick and solid fix by just adding this in every header?

Code: [Select]
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8">

how is the list progressing? Also are you looking at an updated search algorithm?

Here's another great idea to add to your list. Have the programmers add an extra field to the edit page allowing the editor to give optional remarks or source citing for the change. I have had many incorrect rejections and had to re-submit using the Alternate Name field for my comments. That so far has seemed to work. Of course, my comment will get rejected.

Hi.

I found the VGcollect a great tool  for catalog my retro games. I love the way it works and are organized, but i have a few sugestions that i think could improve.

- Export option to choose the fields to export to csv

- Rarity field on description

For the rarity field the easy way is to be a manual input. Other possibility could be the auto mode to get this feed on digitpress or retrocollect (EU versions) websites
