Just made a run to GoodWill and walked out with a Sega Master System, Sega 32x, Sega Activator, Light Phaser, Sword of Vermilion CIB, Space Harrier CIB, F-117 Night Storm IB and Virtua Fighter for 32x.  I actually had no idea the Activator was that hard to find.  ;D

Did you look through their pile o cords section?

I don't know about your Goodwill, but my Goodwill always (and this is stupid) separates cords from systems, PCs, DVD players, etc. and just sticks them in that pile for you to search through.

I decided to make a run back to GoodWill and see if I might have missed anything and walked out again with a Sega Genesis 2, Sega CD, Sega Arcade Power Stick, another Master System controller, a Genesis 6-button controller, several Sega power adapters and Hang-On & Astro Warrior CIB.

2014 is has had the best start I could ever have asked for.  ;D

We went out furniture shopping today to try and find a new TV stand. One of the furniture stores also sells games, and on my way out of the electronics section, there was a bin of clearance games for $19.99. Somehow, Super Mario 3D World for Wii U was in there, marked at the same price as the other clearance games.

Found these New Years Day in an untapped resource I hit up for cheap retro games. I paid $40 total for all of this. I know it looks too good to be true, but as much as the word of a Newbie can be worth, it is 100% true. Definitely a top game hunting find for me.

I'm worried it might be short, but so far, it's really enjoyable and well-made.

Thanks to some sneaky trading, I snagged a bunch of stuff I needed.

First off, I went to Nuuvem and got Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Bioshock Infinite for Steam for $13 in a special two for 30 Reals sale they were having. Yay regional pricing!

Then I got the Sniper Elite V2 collection at Gamersgate for $9.60. Out of that, I only needed the DLC, so I traded away the main game to someone on Steam for Papers, Please and Rise of the Triad.
And I traded those two extra games into a Bioshock Infinite Season Pass.

I'm not planning on getting anything else soon, I have way too much stuff now. :P

Hit up pawn stores for wii motes. You can probably find them for $10 each and in most colors. Also watch ebay auctions. I havent paid full price for any of my PS3 controllers between the two places (Actually havent spent over $25 on any of them so far).

You would think that and I read that a lot on VG collect where users check out pawn stores for stuff but honest to God truth.  Where I live, not a single pawn shop sells anything before the current generation consoles, or accessories.  No wii motes.  They do not sell controllers, cords, etc. separate from consoles.  Trust me I doubled checked them all to make sure.  Only Wii remotes are the one's they are selling with the actual Wii system.  And a few of them even said that within a few months, they are no longer selling Wii consoles or games anymore.  The only reason to visit a pawn shop where I live is to pawn something for cash.  For video game purposes, if your not buying an actual console, or a game for it, no reason to go.

I have talked to them about selling older stuff and they keep telling me that they would loose money because no one buys that stuff.

Have any of them actually been fun? Or even playable? The blur factor on that thing is so bad that it makes the original Game Boy brick look like an HD screen.

It's great if you're a masochist. The touchscreen is interesting and some of the board game-style games are actually playable. But other than that, it's an interesting little abomination of gaming history. Its small library and cheap prices make it easy to collect for, if nothing else than for a conversation piece.

Resident Evil 2 on the Game.com is reason to own the system alone and i am not joking in any way. it is amazing. So is an excellent version of centipede, but mostly resident evil 2.

I have played that. It was my first on the "to play" list when I got a hold of my buddies. And it has the same problem many of the Game.Com games have. The motion-blur on it is so bad that it makes the game practically unplayable. Still, it is impressive in it's own way being that the Game.Com can actually run the game at all.

Jealous on the Strikers find, I want that one for sure.

I saw Bust-a-Move '99 at Goodwill the other day for only $3.99 complete. Is it a sought-after game? I'm really not into Bubble Bobble series at all, so I had no clue if it is. I can pick it up for someone here if they want (and it's still there). Just pay me the $4 and shipping.

You actually spent money on a Game.Com game?!  :o

I've actually purchased quite a few of them.

Have any of them actually been fun? Or even playable? The blur factor on that thing is so bad that it makes the original Game Boy brick look like an HD screen.

OTHERversion of the game.com plays Resident Evil with little blur and that may be why you are having blur issues. Not saying it's completely absent but the picture is more crisp and smooth.

And what is "OTHERversion"?

The only game I actually played on the Game.Com that didn't have a ton of blur was this one puzzle game where you'd press a square, and other squares would disappear. The point was to get rid of all the squares on the screen. But I never quite grasped the patterns on it.

He means the system, the Game com Pocket Pro.

It's not really a find for me as much as it is for The Boy. I don't even put them in my collection. We found what I think are the only two Skylanders he didn't have (Not counting the brand new Swap Force characters that are on eBay, but I can't find in stores) and we got them for $6.88 together. He's pumped.

Wham-Shell and Sunburn

The Boy didn't get into Skylanders until last spring or so. We missed out on all the Spyro's Adventure guys. I've had to try to find the used. I say he has all the Skylanders, I mean he has at least 1 of each character. It could be series 1, 2, or 3. Or it could be like Chop Chop and Trigger Happy and we have to get all 3.

Yeah I dont mess around with every form of the characters unless it just happened to be something that came in a triple pack or whatever.

Are there any characters you are looking for? For some reason, Wal-mart and Toys R us here stock all 3 games of characters still.

I told my son we would get Stink Bomb when it comes out Tuesday. Damn them for having the first one with the sneak ability come out after Christmas. Other than that, we've got a year to pick up one every other week or so. I'm sure something will be hard to find, but we'll just deal with that.

Yeah Im not pursuing all the Swap force the way we did Spyros/Giants. We have 4 of the actual swap characters and 7 of the new plain characters (including Pop thorn and the adventure set he has).

Btw, in case you get free, this Saturday is Skylander day at Gamestop. Here are the promotions : First 25 people get a free poster, spend $20 on Swap force stuff and get one of the Giant sidekicks for free, $20 off the starter pack (including the dark one), 50% off swap force accessories.

I live in Denver. We have a ton of game and thrift stores in the area, as well as places like Entertainmart and Go Hastings. We also have a decent flea market, but it's only good during the Spring and Summer months. I have been hunting for over 3-years and know of some really nice spots that few resellers or collectors know about. None of the games from my most recent post came from one of my untapped resources, but the pic where I found Earthbound and Breath of Fire II all came from a place barely, if any collectors know about. The games in the most recent pic came from a combination of a game store whose prices are all over the place, and a thrift store that is pretty well known around here. It also helps that I hunt almost every day. The Thrill of the hunt keeps me coming back :p

There are a lot of resellers around here too, but while their motivation is simply getting a quick buck, mine is the love of games, which I like to think gives me the upper hand. There are a fair amount of places in my area that have been ruined by resellers that were once awesome places to snag games, but losing those places forces you to become a little more creative when hunting games. I personally don't have kids or a family to worry about so I hunt quite often, giving resellers and collectors a run for their money when I'm out hunting :p. The whole thing is very exciting, and I love it.

I love the hunting part as well sometimes.  Sometimes, I dont even want to go because i know they've all been hammered by resellers.  Like when I found my 5 dollar virtual boy complete in box last month, I loved it then lol.  But overall, there is not much being creative where I live.  All we have is about 5 good wills and 2 thrift stores and I hit all of them early as possible at least 6 times a week on a good week and on a bad week, about twice.  I do have a good will literally 2 minutes away that I hit sometimes 4 times a day.  The other problem is due to resellers, most of my good wills will over price games to the extreme!  Sometimes I have seen mario/duck hunt for 20 bucks.  its crazy lol.

But if you are having all this luck, more power to you   :D  Keep it going and keep posting the good finds  :)  There cool to see and read about

It is unfortunate that resellers and some collectors can ruin collecting as a whole, especially if there are limited spots to hunt. Where I live is a big enough area where everyone gets a slice of the collecting pie, seeing how there are way to many places to look for games all at once. However, as I said there are specific places that are almost pointless to go because one or several resellers are there constantly combing over the games. Luckily there are other places to hunt though. Having to compete with resellers, and some collectors, depending of the collector, can be tiresome and frustrating, but it is that moment where you walk into one of "their" thrift stores or pawn shops and grab the deals that they feel entitled to that make it sort of fun. There is a guy in his 60s who is almost always at this one place I go hunting, and he specifically goes after the games that come in. One day I happened to be there right at the right time when they were about to place about 10 PS1 games on the shelf, most of them valuable and/or sought after. I grabbed almost all of them, and as I was checking out I saw the guy glaring at me from across the store. One of the finer moments in reseller revenge, but definitely shows that it is still possible with a little luck and good timing.

BTW, excellent score on the Virtual Boy. I know a place that is trying to sell a complete one for $150, so you did very well there!

Lol I am going hunting tomorrow (no work, yay!) so hopefully there will be some finds posted then. I am also working on cleaning my game room so I can post pics of it in the game room thread.

Well, today was weird.

I went to go pay our property tax today and after that was done, I went to a local mall to go get some groceries (there's a supermarket store there). I dropped by to check out their DVD selection since they sometimes have really cheap movies there. Well, there was a stand with a bunch of random budget CDs in there but it also said "Video interactive"... so I got close and what did I find?

VIDEO GAMES.

Their price was $26 pesos (about $2 USD) but the store also had a 30% off promo on most DVDs. And the discount stacked on top. So I got four budget FPS games, PUBLISHED AND PRINTED IN MEXICO, for $20 pesos each. That's like six bucks and a half! They also had a few different two packs, but they were "casual" (hidden object) games so I left 'em behind since I didn't have that much money on me then. I -might- go back for them, just because of the novelty of them being printed in Mexico! (Come on, you guys know I collect weird stuff like that. Remember my obsession with 10 peso DVDs from last year? I still need to go get the last ones I still don't own... :p)

Edit:
Oh yeah, they also had Transformers DVDs! The older show? They had the same price, but they only had four or five episodes per DVD, and they're dubbed to Spanish so I said nah. Someone's selling a pack with all six volumes over here (http://articulo.mercadolibre.com.mx/MLM-437281926-transformers-6-volumenes-idioma-espanol-_JM), so they were sold in a box at one point... somewhere.

This isn't just your normal, run of the mill PS2 console. This is an NTSC-J console, or in other words a Japanese PS2. I have wanted one of these so, so, so badly for such a long time, however these things fetch insane prices online. Not only was this one boxed, but it is actually brand new. I felt a little guilty opening it when I brought it home, but consoles were not meant to be stared at, they are meant to be played. But the best part is I only paid $60 for this thing. I have been scouring the internet for import PS2 games since buying this this morning. As if I needed another group of games to collect for lol. Very excited to have one of these :D!

Lol I have a ton of games in mind, only problem is finding them for a decent price! I have been looking online all day since finding the PS2 for good deals on the games I want, and sadly I haven't found much. I was so close to bidding on a copy of Ibara this afternoon, but it was at $120, a little out of my price range at the moment for a single game. The two games I want the most are Mushihimesama and Sega Ages 2500 Treasure Box. Haven't been able to find then for under $45 so far.

Might as well add mine.  I went out with my brother looking for some Wii stuff and realized that a lot of the good games at gamestop for the Wii, are the same price as new retail stores.  So we went to Best Buy instead and they had Super smash bros. brawl for 30 bucks, while gamestop had it for 28 used so might as well get it new.  At the same time, best buy happened to have a sale going on so I got the wii classic controller pro for 15 dollars (wanted the black controller but all they had was white), and the mario wii mote for 30 instead of 40, so I took up the sale offers.

P.S.  I'm looking forward to it because even tho' people say it's a classic, I do own super smash bros. on the 64 and I have not played any smash bros. for any console at all so this will be a mystery.  I'm thinking of pulling it out on the 64 first.

For what it's worth, I think the SSB Melee is the best one.  That's the one on GameCube.  I don't really know why, I just think I enjoy it the most.  Don't get me wrong.  They are all great and a lot of fun, but I just like Melee the best.

Way back when, I played a lot of SFII.  I wasn't great, but respectable.  Then about the time Killer Instinct came out, shit got way too complicated with fighting games.  If you didn't memorize combos and movelists, you couldn't have fun with the game.  SSB was a simple, but fun fighter.  It's different for sure, but in a good way.

Heh funny you mentioned KI. I was a nut for KI when it was released. This was during my MK obsession days and this was one game that could pull me off. I think the memorization of everything was part of what I enjoyed. I never really got into SF or Tekken cause it always seemed like everything was mostly based on luck instead of knowledge of what was actually going on. It still feels like that when playing a MvC game now.

And a subscription to the brand-new (U.S.) Retro Gaming Magazine:

I think I just missed out on the first issue, however.

I don't know, it hasn't arrived yet. And since I just missed out on the first issue, and it comes out every 2 months, it might be a while before I can report on it.

I just got it because it's a cheap alternative to the awesome, but so expensive U.K. Retro Magazine.

It was $33 for a print and digital subscription together, or half that price for the digital subscription only. I got the print one.

Here's a link to the website (where you can subscribe):

And here's a link to the Kickstarter Campaign for it that's accomplished and over, but it gives a more detailed description; the main-site is still in development:

I LOVE WORLD RUNNER ! It's not a good game. It's not even fun, but I love it. This is one where the nostalgia takes the driver seat. I had this one as a kid and played the shit out of it. I love the catchy little ditty during the first stage. That game is so weird, it's awesome.

So then huge, but not as huge as say Oblivion or Skyrim? Because I never ran out of things to do in those games. I mean, I eventually completed the main quest, expansion quest, and all the guild-questlines. But there are still sooooo many random quests and random guild bounties and stuff in those games that you can always go back and find something else to do.

Its worth it. It did have some issues thou. I think they released a second one that was a fixed version with DLC, get that one.
The original had really poor fast travel and the draw rate sucked at times.
However.. The combat was amazing.
The story was nothing special thou. I think I put in about 100 hours.

I didn't like Dragon's Dogma. There was so much damn dialogue to trogg through. And then once you did, it seemed the gameplay was a bit too linear for an RPG. Action-RPGs are like my all-time favorite genre, too, I just couldn't get into it.

Yeah, this would be the first time I played it. It's not bad. Wonder if they could re-release it(I believe Square made this) for 3DS with the 3D feature. Anyway, I got it boxed with sleeve but no book for $10.

I got Digital Devil Saga 2 and SMT: Soul Hackers recently, which makes me really happy :D  Along with an expansion pak for the N64. Now I only need to find a cheap copy of Majora's Mask and I can finally try it. I do have the Gamecube collector's edition, but since it crashes often, I'd rather go for the original game.

I'm also going to buy Super Princess Peach tomorrow from a kijiji ad, I can't wait. Guy sells it for $20, so it's worth the 3-days-wait in between each of his e-mail answers  :-\ I've been e-mailing him back and forth for over a week now, just trying to set a meeting.

The Boy's good fortune strikes again.  I took him to GameStop since I thought the Stink Bomb Skylander was coming out. He was going in there to get a new Skylander. He was pumped. Well, no new skylanders at our GameStop. He was noticeably bummed. He sucked it up long enough to ask the lady if she had any of the little Skylanders Sidekicks. She says, "Come back I'm a couple of days. My manager will be back. I think he had some left from the Skylander Day Saturday."  The other girl in there says, "I know where that box is!" She ran to the back and came back with a box of promo stuff.
I asked how much they were. The girl replies, "We were giving these away. You can have one."  My son starts digging and finds the 3 he didn't have. I'm telling him to pick one. Then the girl asks "Do yo have this one?  What about this one?"  We came home with 3 new sidekicks. Now, I can never bitch about The Evil Empire again.

TL;DR The nice ladies at my GameStop gave my son 3 Sidekicks and a poster. He was pumped.

Made me smile :). I'm happy for your son, glad he left with what he wanted!

90% of my problem with Gamestop is the company itself, not the employees really. I have met some intolerable Gamestop employees, but also have had friends that have worked there that are super cool. Glad someone nice was working and hooked your son up :)

This very comfortable looking controller for the N64 that I'm hoping will help me overcome the barrier that is the N64 controller for me:

Just wanted to say that it already showed up today, a couple days later. And it immediately just felt right in my hands. I'm VERY happy with this purchase. The N64 controller has always felt very awkward and clumsy feeling to me, and I've REALLY tried to get used to it, too. So this should make things much more enjoyable for me.

And luckily the thumbstick was undamaged (that's always a concern for me when buying any N64 controllers).

Was it just the box? (That's cool enough on it's own as long as there isn't cat poop or ketchup on it from being in a dumpster). Or is there an actual N64 in there?
Title: Re: January 2014 - Recently Added to Collection/Recently Purchased

@Burningdoom

I actually got it before it was thrown away. I saw the box sitting in a tub with several other random items towards the front of the store and so I immediately asked an employee how much it was. The employee told me it wasn't for sale because it was returned as defective. After telling me they were planning on throwing it away (box and all) and tried really hard to convince him, and later his manager to let me have it. At at one point I even offered $10 for it. However because it was their store policy they refused to sell me it. Because the system inside it, and not the box itself (obviously) was defective, I was able to convince them to give me the box and inserts, while they kept the N64 to dispose of. Walked out of there with it for free and was super happy :)

So the short answer is that it wasn't in the dumpster, but on its way there. And no system, but I have two N64 consoles, my Pikachu one and my original grey one, so I'm putting the grey one in it and putting it on display in my game room.

Feels a little heavier than my other NES games, wonder if it's one of the ones that may have the famicom converter inside.

I would drop $5/10 at a time every 2 weeks or so and I just made the last payment today. Its so cool! I never thought I would actually own a CDX but Im pretty happy to have one now. Looks like I may be in the market for another line of games.  ;)

I backed it when the Kickstarter was still live. Got my name printed in the back and all that jazz. Looks like they have the first issue available for $8.50 shipped on their website.

Between that one and Jack Bros. I blew my game budget for at least the next three or four months.  :(

Just ordered this awesome 3DS/DS game case from Club Nintendo! I got the Legend of Zelda set. Comes with 3 different covers (3DS, Zelda, & Mario). It should go along very nicely with my new 3DS XL.  8)

SEGA GENESIS:

StarFlight
Super Hang-On
Sword Of Vermilion
Toxic Crusaders

Plus, other Sega Genesis games that came with the lot that I wasn't interested in.  Not a bad haul...

Picked up Sniper Elite on the XBox. One of the rarer games to find. I found it for, what I thought, was a steal. Turns out that the price of the game has gone down a lot. So, I paid around market value. Still psyched to knock off rare games when they are under $20.

Ah, Indianapolis 500.  I had that back in high school and we had a study hall after lunch that was in the computer lab and we were completely unsupervised, so I put Indy 500 and Scorched Earth on the PCs in there and that's what we did after lunch when I should have been doing homework.

We eventually just quit trying to race and would drive the wrong way on the track to see how big of a crash we could make when we hit the oncoming cars.  It had a great instant replay feature with different camera angles -- so we had a ton of fun seeing who could create the biggest or best crashes.

Whoa!  Had a VERY generous friend clean out his parent's basement, and hooked me up with a WINDFALL of gaming goodness.

60 NES carts.  Only a few dupes, and some great selections in there that I didn't have. Came with 5 boxes in really nice condition (metroid classic, zelda classic, time lord, sky shark, and startropics)

12 Intellivision carts

7 NES carts

2 NES consoles, an N64 console, and an Intellivision which seems to be in pretty good condition.

Woo!

Yup, no manual is perfectly normal. I went to the internet too to confirm haha, especially since the wrapping looked like it was resealed (I'm not a pro yet on identifying resealed boxes). I thought someone had bought it to use the Club Nintendo code (it was during the SMT+Fire Emblem promo for a $30 e-shop card), but in the end it really was brand new.

I figured afterwards that they might have omitted the manual since there's the guidebook included.

I checked too lol. I read about the seal job. Seems weird it wasn't y fold sealed. This one was used (not sealed) so I don't have a code redemption card, so most likely they redeemed the code. No biggie for me. I got it for 31 dollars lol.

Yeah, it was heat-sealed, and nowadays that seems to happen 99% of the time when they're resealed, not when leaving the factories. That's weird, but eh.

So my heart got broken the other day when I was at the Good will.

So I went to the DVD section and grabbed Halo 2 complete great condition for the Xbox.  I did not have any Halo game so I was happy.  It was 6 bucks.

However, when I walked to the register to check out, I  noticed the cashier had the following gamecube games behind the counter:  Super mario sunshine, Mario Party, Luigi Mansion, Zelda Windwaker, some baseball game, STar Fox Adventures and Paper Mario.  I asked her if I could get them but she said some one already got them he just went home to grab his wallet and come back.  So the man eventually came back in as I was in line and he paid 15 bucks for all those gamecube games.  All those were on my wish list and I was heart broken and I was going to cry when I walked about the store    :-[ :-\ :(

If I only I came to the Good will 30 minutes earlier.

Wow, that guy got such a deal  :o Game hunting is often a matter of timing. I had an awesome 1 foot high, talking with lights, Megaman figure snatched right in front of me by a reseller at the flea market last summer. It wasn't in perfect condition, but it was still awesome-looking. The reseller's been trying to sell it even since, for $50. Fifty freaking bucks. :(

I was shocked that one of my 2 local GS stores:

a). actually *had* one,

b). hadn't 'gutted' it & that the whole thing was still sealed & minty, and

c). I was pleasantly surprised when/that it wrung-up @ $19.99 (because, I thought that the price on the shelf said $39.99)  ;D

I picked all of these up for dirt freaking cheap at GameStop today, when I was just browsing:

-AC/DC Rock Band Track Pack (PS2)
-Duke Nukem Forever (XBox 360)
-Spartan: Total Warrior (PS2)

I'm the most excited about Spartan: Total Warrior, because it's by Creative Assembly and published by Sega, the same as one of my favorite overlooked bargain-bin games: Viking Battle For Asgard.

Yeah, I'm not real upset about missing out on the Symphonia LE because it was pretty 'figurine-heavy' (I'm more of an OST + art book kind of guy) -and- iirc, it was >$100 for the LE.

I actually cancelled my 2 pre-ordered So Park LE's & decided to just get myself a standard version; since - after giving it some thought, I realized that there just wasn't anything that came with the LE that I really wanted enough to justify the LE's price tag of $85 each.

@Bobster & Karyann:

(re: "being late to the party") -

It's really not that big of a deal...since a party can't really start until *I* get there anyways!

Yeah, I'm not real upset about missing out on the Symphonia LE because it was pretty 'figurine-heavy' (I'm more of an OST + art book kind of guy) -and- iirc, it was >$100 for the LE.

I love both figurines and soundtracks, so the cute figurines were totally a plus for me, especially since there aren't many in limited editions. It's really a pity that soundtracks aren't usually sold as a "standalone" in the west, though... Damn do I LOVE listening to video games soundtracks  :-\ I would seriously buy a lot of them if only I had the chance to. And I don't mean buying them on itunes, because first of all I hate itunes with a passion, and second, as a collector, I always prefer physical copies. I really wish they would bring us more soundtracks.

Haven't had much luck on the physical side, but on the digital...

GOG:
The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav - free GOG key from a developer giveaway at Reddit.

Steam:
Alpha Prime - from the Bohemia Interactive Humble Weekly. Free from a friend.
Star Wars: Empire at War - traded some TF2 items for this.
Teleglitch + Guns n' Tunes DLC + some soundtracks (Humble Roguelike Weekly) - $3ish after selling off my dupes
Castle of Illusion - $4 after getting a discount on a sale at GamersGate
Gravity Badgers + Ballpoint Universe: Infinite + Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut + Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa's Rampage - $2, yay Indie Gala
Sanctum 2 Season Pass + DLC Skin Pack - $2.20ish
Star Wars: Jedi Knight Collection (Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith, Star Wars: Dark Forces) - $5. This is still in my inventory.

I also traded away that duplicate Deadpool copy I got because GameFly sucks, and so I got 10 TF2 keys, which I've been using to get other games that are sitting in my inventory:

Hitman: Absolution Professional Edition
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II
Ninja Blade

Edit: Oh, right! I forgot. I got The War in Heaven, some weird Christian FPS thing, for two bucks a little while back. Still new. :P

I just got Rhythm Thief: The Emperor's Treasure for $20! I can't believe how much it goes for on ebay, I'm happy I could get it for lower. And also just got Atelier Rorona: Limited edition, the box is a bit damaged but the game is still sealed. And man, that artbook is pretty! I was pleasantly surprised that it's hardcover. I don't know if they usually are, but hey.

Naw I'm just kidding.  Let me tell the truth before she reads this and gets mad.  She is actually the one who left work one night, went to the good will and came home with my virtual boy that time.  She's awesome  :)

Nice, I love mine. If you get a Master System controller (which are compatible on the Genesis), then there is pretty much zero difference between playing the games on it or the Master System. Or you could just use the better Genesis controllers, which also work on the Master System games.

I think the only game that won't work with a PBC is F-16 Fighting Falcon (and it's no great loss, believe me)
Also some games will only work with SMS controllers, like Carmen Sandiego I believe. Can't remember how many others but I don't think it's many

Lastly, it's designed to fit on a Model 1 Genesis so Model 2's and 3's are physically incompatible.

yeah I pretty much got it to save a little space and to make good use of my model 1

the manual says it's the Cartridge of F-16 fighting Falcon

and the games it list that only work with a SMS controlelr are
Great Volleyball
Shanghai
Alien Syndrome
Wonder Boy in Monster Land
Carmen Sandiego
Montezuma's Revenge
Bomber Raid

and I guess it's a good thing I have a model 1 and that my Model 2 has the 32x & CD attached to it ;D

NES
Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom (boxed)
Super Pitfall (found at a pawn shop)

Wii U
New Super Mario Bros U

...and a lot of common N64 titles, ten of which I already owned.

Waking up is ALWAYS a GOOD thing...especially when you consider the alternative  ;)

btw, Karyann -

Do you ever dream in English?

I've dated a bunch of girls that had a language other than English as their 1st/"main" language & I've always found this to be interesting...

I can speak more than 1 language -but- I've never dreamt in any of them - only in English.

I only remember dreaming in English once, and that was during an immersion where we were camping/hiking for a few days and speaking only in English. It was really fun. Now that I think about it, I miss these activities.

Second game of the year!
This time it's another new game for an old console, that being Redux: Dark Matters on Dreamcast, the limited edition which includes Dux 1.5 (whatever that is).

This was a kickstarter game, and probably the worst-managed kickstarter I've been a part of, and frankly I didn't think I'd receive the game. The project managers never gave us updates unless we complained about their silence, the project was delayed over a year with no reason given, and at some point they separately sold things that were supposed to be Kickstarter-exclusive... and the final box is just a standard DVD case, when the preview image showed a different-looking box.

Disappointing project, hopefully the game's good.

I just think of Jay from GameChasers and his hatred of Star Trek.

Have you ever seen the movie "Fanboys"?  It's exactly how I feel about trekkies.

This is the 2nd time I've quoted Highlander tonight: "There can be only one". No trek is good trek.

Star Wars is the only real galaxy and you guys know it!   :)

I think the original Star wars trio is great ... everything from the 90's and on - junk. The opposite goes for Star Trek. The original series is junk ... everything from the 90's and on - great.

So I'm confused Turf.  Are you with me and the Force, or are you with some stupid man that just does nothing but sits in the middle of a space ship ordering others while wearing random color shirts with some kind of combat symbols that are very confusing?

I took from your video you were Star Wars but you made a comment earlier about being a Trekkie.  You said there can only be one so which are you?

I feel this has to be posted right now and remind people it's okay to lie about Jar-Jar

Video was hilarious and very entertainment and I finally got to see what that guy looks like.  I've seen hundreds of reviews but never seen his face; however, Am I the only Star Wars nerd that actually thinks episodes 1-3 are still good movies and Jar Jar is a great character?  I mean, he played one of the most important roles in episode 1...

Yes, you are the only person on this rock floating through space that likes Jar-Jar Binks. George Lucas still owes me an apology for that.

I never even joked about being a trekkie. That is something a man never jokes about. I was talking about sin2beta's pun. That is one thing I'm always onboard with.

I'm sorry.  I went back and read it and sorry I misread it.  I for some reason was thinking you wrote that.  I read too fast.  I apologize.  Dont be mad at me  :-[

But yea, that's code.  I was never even pretend to be a trekkie even if I lost a bet

While they pale in comparison to the originals I did not find the prequel trilogy to be as horrendous as I was expecting it to be.  Liking Jar-Jar is inexcusable though.

I will say that if it wasn't for the prequels, I would have never gotten the GF to watch all the Star Wars movies. We started with Phantom Menace and slowly worked through it.

Personally, I enjoy the prequels. You get to see Jedi in action on the movie screen! I'll always love the originals a bit more, but dammit I hate what Lucas did to the Jabba's Palace scene...
