I thought about that, but I figured it might be better to keep all this stuff together.
Sweet.
Shouldn't this be in/under "site feedback", though?
I wanted to change the name for the following release:I thought that "The Hit Squad" was a subtitle, thus the correct way to list in the database would have been Rampage: The Hit Squad. I did not realize that "The Hit Squad" was a budget release. I have resubmitted an edit.
http://vgcollect.com/item/76859
From "Rampage" to "Rampage - The Hit Squad" in order to mark that this is the Budget re-release of the title, but my change order got rejected. When I check the Style guide I'm unable to see where I go wrong here. The titel of the game is "Rampage" and it's the "The Hit Squad" re-release of it. Comparable with for example the following product:
Could you clarify? :)

Lol, you guys ever get rejected edit notices for part of a listing that you didn't change? ??? I submitted new box art for A Witch's Tale last night, which was approved, but also got a rejection notice for description text that was already there & I didn't touch. :P Doesn't really matter, I've just had it happen a few times & was wondering what makes whoever checked it think I edited stuff I didn't?I have noticed this a few times, not sure why it does that ha. I have just been rejecting them.

Final Fantasy XIII released with the new PS3 logo. It would be strange if they used the old Spider-Man movie font logo for their Platinum release.

I guess what I am trying to figure out is why is there multiple versions of the box art? If there is multiple releases of the box art than there needs to be two entries of the game in the database. Is the current art in the database promotional or a custom box art?

I didn't see what it was, but most descriptions I see are usually not the sort that the style guide asks for. The description should be objective and focused on things like physical contents in a box, particular markings for the variant, etc. If it has any flavor text about the plot or hype, I usually just hit the edit button, erase the whole field, submit the edit.
Sometimes that stuff is also stolen from other sites (i.e. MobyGames, etc.), which is definitely a no-no on the site.

I just tried to submit edits to the N3DSXL - Black, but after I submitted the edits, it'd just refresh the edit page without giving me a confirmation of the submission. I'll try it again on a different browser, but apologies if you get multiple edits from me!I am going to be clearing out the edits in the next hour or so. I'll let you know if they went through.
Update: Still no go with another browser. Let me know if it's not going through at all (maybe I'm doing something wrong?) or if it's going through and the submission notice isn't showing up.

This isn't as much as an error as much as it is a basic question. (maybe it is an error. idk. ::)) In the past with Wii remotes being re-released with Wii U branding we've placed them under Wii U Accessories. With that line of thought in mind I created the Super Smash Bros. edition GameCube controller entry (http://vgcollect.com/item/65706) under Wii U Accessory. Makes sense to me especially since it doesn't have any GameCube branding on it at all. Looking through the GameCube Accessory category i found this: http://vgcollect.com/item/75883 (http://vgcollect.com/item/75883). Should this item be placed under GameCube or Wii U?Moved this over to Wii U accessory.

Missing items wouldn't really count as "listing errors." It'd count as a good opportunity for someone to add an upcoming title to our database :)
All items were created by users of the site, so if you see an item is missing, feel free to add it yourself (after searching/browsing first, of course ;) ).
Not sure this belongs here but I didn't want to start a new thread just for this. An edit was rejected and I just wanted to point out why I suggested changing a title. You have Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker and the edit I submitted removed the second set of colons, which is how Atlus has it on the sales sheet. It's possible the sale sheet could have an error though that seemed like the most reliable source.
Games with subtitles: Subtitle should follow the main title after a colon.
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Bionic Commando: ReArmed
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire

In January a user created an entry for the white (Japanese) Smash Bros GameCube controller (http://vgcollect.com/item/75883). I recently bought the Japanese release of both the black and white controller and was planning on creating an entry for the black Japanese one. Then I saw the entry title of the existing white entry. "GameCube Controller - Super Smash Bros. Japanese White Edition" That's a mouth full. I was thinking it could be named "GameCube Controller - Super Smash Bros. Edition (White) [JP], but that would be silly also. So I ended up translating word for word what is on the boxes.I agree with that, they are more elegant and simple, easier to find out in database.(http://i.imgur.com/N4rmUsA.jpg)Nintendo GameCube(http://i.imgur.com/L2Q0dQQ.jpg)

There is two Batman Origins in the Wii U (EU) section. This is the first, and then the second says '(PEGI Rating)' at the end of the title, but the first one also has a PEGI rating? so I am not sure how this is suppose to be, because the second does seem to have a slightly different cover, but there isn't a difference of the rating :)

They have different part numbers, as they are two different releases. The titles merely need to be fixed.
From what I can tell, the first one (68144) is the German version. So likely its title should have [DE] in it.
Second one (69402) appears to be the UK release. The "(PEGI Rating)" in the title should be removed, unless it is a variant.

Just wanted to thank whoever's been approving my changes the past couple of days for humoring my OCD tendencies. I was going through my collection and noticed that some of the box art images were slightly narrower than the rest - I'm assuming because a little white space was left in the image. It was driving me crazy. :P<3
PS - there may be more, I've only gone through my Wii & PS3 collections so far. ;)
Went into the database and it's very weird - of the dozens and dozens, perhaps hundreds of Commodore 64 carts listed, only 5 remain in the C64 NA cart section, every other cart has mysteriously been transported to the cassettes category.

I apologize as I am not familiar with the Amiga at all, but what exactly do you mean by "they were not actual systems". I don't want to remove them without being absolutely certain as a member has them in their wish list.
The AmigaOne SE and AmigaOne XE were not complete computers. They were standalone motherboards. If we allow such products, then yes, maybe these could stay?
2. There is an entry for "NBA 2K10 10th Anniversary Edition" on the PS3. That should be deleted, because all of them say 10th Anniversary on it.

Found user necron99 who's basically creating new "Canadian release" entries for almost every game in their PS3 library (http://vgcollect.com/necron99/ps3). This raises the question: are the canadian releases any different than the US counterparts? If so how can we prove it? If it's just a product number difference (this is the case with modern nintendo games too) does that grant the game it's own entry?
The topic of inconsistent product numbers has been brought up before in THIS (http://vgcollect.com/forum/index.php/topic,5802.msg82986.html) thread.

They are different because of their packaging. They are bilingual. If there is a case where, say, a Canadian release's contents are not unique, then it should be noted within the description as to that fact. Same would go for the euro DS games as well. In some cases, not only the product number is different but sometimes the artwork is different. This is true of sports games, where a "fellow countryman" will make the foreign release cover rather than who was on the US version.
That user seems to have added the entries correctly (notably the artwork appears to be bilingual) however the style guide says you should use [CA] instead of (Canadian release) in the title.
LOL then lets put [US] in from of all our games than.

Gyromite Gyromite (5 Screw Cartridge) Famicom AdapterYeah I think this is something that should be put in the notes, rather than a new entry. Merged it with the 5 screw entry.
http://vgcollect.com/item/83820
I take issue with this entry because its a component of a product and not a products its self. The same adapter can be found in a variety of NES carts and not just Gyromite.
The name is also messed up. 1st: Gyromite Gyromite? 2nd: 5 Screw cart. -Weird since the adapters are only found in 5 screw carts, so there's not really a point in titling it like that. Additionally there's already an entry for the 5 screw version.

I would not make it into the Dutch release just because there are 40 in collection. When it comes to items where this happens, I expect that 99% of the people who added it have the release as in the title. Another thing to consider is that many people may have added it to collection when there was no picture and that many people may not scrutinize things like the barcode or item number.
You should change the box art to match regular EU release (or the cart or whatever) and then make a new item for the Dutch version.
Or, that is what I would do.

http://vgcollect.com/item/78308 (http://vgcollect.com/item/78308) Has a PEGI scan, should be a ELSPA according to the barcode.
Submitted edit with correct front art and rating.
I just rejected the rating... sorry about that. But the box doesn't have an ELSPA rating - it has a BBFC 18 rating (only used in the UK).

That's fine. I am still not 100% on identifying what rating labels are used where.

James Pond 3: Operation Starfi5h:
http://vgcollect.com/item/76431 -> European game with an American box image ....WRONG
Lufia:
http://vgcollect.com/item/81482 -> European game with Australian Box Art ..... WRONG
Secret of Evermore:
http://vgcollect.com/item/33464 ---> Wrong front box art (Australian version box art used instead of UKV)
Warlock:
http://vgcollect.com/item/84902 ---> American boxart for an European game
WWF Royal Rumble:
http://vgcollect.com/item/77235 ---> American boxart for an European release .... WRONG
Regarding Lufia SNES [EU], it seems to me that all releases are "big box" so if that is so, can we remove the Big Box designation on the DE and NL entries?

Seems they should have the English title followed by the language in brackets? because at the moment they aren't anywhere near the English counterparts in the alphabet. :)

I would leave as is, as the Style Guide does not specifically mention what to do with EU games like that. However it does show this as an example:
Dragon Quest VIII: Sora to Umi to Daichi to Norowareshi Himegimi
Which is not "English" either. I think the style guide is using the wrong term here. The aim is so that people aren't entering "Symbol" characters into the name fields and to use "Roman" lettering... I think the use of the term "English" is incorrect.
So as it stands, having "El Padrino" is correct, and having the alt-name (the godfather) to reference what the game is known as in other regions is also correct. The only problem is that now, technically, based on the Style Guide the game name should be Padrino, El. :p
Play Beyond Demo disc for PS3:
http://vgcollect.com/item/76929
I just picked up one of these on the side, although not the one pictured. Then I realise it is a pack-in item for the console... so there shouldn't be a separate entry for it but instead noted on the console description as to which Play Beyond disc came with it. Looking on Ebay shows there are quite a few different versions of this disc and I suspect they all have different part numbers.
@Telly
I accepted your edits :)
EDIT: Are movies allowed?

I attempted to correct, Fire Emblem Awakening (http://vgcollect.com/item/35657)'s title by removing the colon, as there is not actually one in the title. However, my edit was rejected. The lack of a colon was actually confirmed by Bill Trinen a long time ago via twitter, here is his tweet (https://twitter.com/trintran/status/300068890803859456).
The colon; the bane of the database.
^ interesting. i didn't do it. Funny enough its the UPC for the PC version. Go ahead and submit the old one

I read that Shovel Knight, the retail version, has been canceled for XBox One. Don't know if this is ok to post here.

A little while ago I made some listings for all the variants of Alundra, because the discs and inserts are a little different. I'm submitting an edit to change one of the name and description to fit in with the other entries, like how NES 3 screw and 5 screw carts have that designation next to both variants. Anyway, I thought I let the admins know beforehand :)I approved your edits :) Thank you for clarifying what you were doing in this thread.
This is what I'm editing

It should look like this (Name and description)

^ I rejected it because the image updated was significantly smaller.

That whole section (Interactive Figures) is a real mess.
Lethal Enforcers - The Justifier Bundle - http://vgcollect.com/item/30319 - Delete Entry
Reason: There was only one version for Sega CD (US) that came with the "Justifier" gun and has the official name Lethal Enforcers. Including an entry with a bundle name in the title is wrong. This entry should be deleted and the entry at - http://vgcollect.com/item/9434 - should be kept. I have included an entry in the "Description Field" saying how this version comes with the gun.

There is no such game as "Prince of Persia - Collector's Edition - 360[NA]". That is the name of Prima's Official Game Guide (ISBN 978-0-7615-6116-3). Furthermore, the displayed photo is of that guide!!!
The following are incorrect game images:

I believe if you look at "history" on the item page it will tell you who submitted which edit/ who made the item originally. Not sure if that's the answer your looking for.

It isn't. I only know the manual way, which is to look at the user's inventory and see if they made the entry.
I noticed that N-Gage [NA] got placed in with the new Atari 5200 section when I was looking at browsing. Thanks :)
EDIT: Also, I don't know if this is transitional leftovers, but it seems like there are some Virtual Console games that are in limbo now without a platform attached to it?
Here's one, I imagine there are others like it. I submitted an edit for this one.
Sonic the Hedgehog (Wii Shop)
http://vgcollect.com/item/14724
The Sum of All Fears - PS2 [NA] does not exist. The PS2 version was only released in Europe. It was released only for GC, GBA and PC in North America. That listing should be removed from the database. Also, http://vgcollect.com/item/72051 is showing an image of the European release. This is what I was thinking, but if I was wrong and somehow it had a small release or something.
http://vgcollect.com/item/92637 -> a blank Assassin's Creed 2 (yes 2 and not II ;) ), good for delete i think since no one have it in their collection (and since all version are already in the database).
As collection can be on private, you never know if someone is hanging on to it.

Oh i didn't know that (nor that private collection existed before that post :-[ ), thanks for the information and sorry for the staff if that game is not an error then.

Please remove the following entry from the database:
http://vgcollect.com/item/65658 (http://vgcollect.com/item/65658)
Rationale: This was never sold as a stand alone item. It always came bundled with the Commodore 64 when you bought it new, therefore it shouldn't have it's own entry

Its been brought up before that pack-in items can be tracked as separate entries because you can (now) buy them on their own. I suspect this may change in the future once the database is changed so that you can specifically indicate that A item came in B package.

The discussion in the thread below seems to indicate that these items should not be kept in the database?

Besides, if you search for "power supply" you only get 3 responses from the complete database. Should we then massively add all the power supplys for all the other systems? :)
http://vgcollect.com/item/29045 and http://vgcollect.com/item/29046 should be moved to Intellivision (EU), as they were only released in Europe
As i expected i get slapped for posting here, because i upload images with shrink wrap still on, and the wrong images stay in the database.

Is it possible some of the wrapped items have a reflection?

There will always be some reflection, see the links above. But do you want the right picture, or a picture that was made before the game came out? Some don't care but my ocd does.
I submitted an edit on the 28th for Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel - Lionheart Edition (NA - Vita) filling in a bunch of the info, which was accepted. SilverBow sent in an edit a couple days later filling in the barcode & box text, which I didn't add, but in the process he deleted my description which told what was included in the special edition. So I just submitted another edit to re-add that. Here's the listing:Sorry, but when I submitted the box text, it made your Description entry redundant. Besides, according to VGCollect's "Style Guide", your information is a verbatim quote from Amazon's promotional description, and thus, could be considered plagiarism and not allowed. I apologize again for taking the "Style Guide" too literally.

Well, Amazon doesn't write those description burbs, they come from the publisher. Anyway, no harm - I like having the field filled in even if it is somewhat redundant.
Another correction - Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures (NA - PS3) has the back cover image in both the back cover & media fields. Plus, I'm pretty sure I see a watermark on it in the bottom-right corner: http://vgcollect.com/item/22602
