Title: UPDATE - HTTPS / SSL Now Active
Post by: jason on December 01, 2016, 12:05:22 am
Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know that we have switched VGCollect over to HTTPS. If you notice any issues, please let us know.

Thanks,

Jason

Obviously security is a good for any website, but is there any particular reason you chose to use SSL certificates? It doesn't seem terribly common outside of sites that deal with confidential data or financial transactions.

Even tho VGC doesn't hold any financial information, it still transmits user account data, passwords, etc. It's quickly becoming the standard to use SSL on any site that has user accounts. In fact, in the very near future Chrome will warn users that a site is insecure if they are on a login screen that isn't https.

Not sure if this has anything to do with the https, but editing gives me a old html page.

Thanks for pointing that out, fazerco! Also, thanks for the confirmation @ignition365!

This should now be fixed. If you are still having issues or notice anything else, please let me know.

Thanks,

Jason

Yes, that auto fill for publisher and developer doesnt work.

Doesn't this create many more variants of the same publisher? Or am i the only one who has this?

I'm noticing that as well - doesn't auto-suggest from the approved list of pubs/devs.
