Title: Konami Files a Patent For TurboGrafx-16
Post by: burningdoom on December 07, 2016, 12:48:38 pm
Konami just filed a patent for TurboGrafx-16...If Konami is relaunching it, making an NES Classic version of it, or just using the name to make a new console; I'm excited whatever it ends up being!

Now we need to wait and see what happens, didn't resisted the temptation and read the IGN article and the last part is hilarious:

Code: [Select]
Whatever Konami has in store for the TurboGrafx trademark, it can't possibly be as heartbreaking as the Metal Gear Solid 3 pachinko machine.

I hope it is a NES Classic style console. Would love to see Star Soldier and Blazing Lasers on a console again. Would buy for sure if they did this.

Please let it be a quality plug & play. I'd buy one.

These are both on Wii Virtual Console. I own them on there. Hell, most of the best TG-16 games are on there. I also own Gates of Thunder, Lords of Thunder, Neutopia, and Dungeon Explorer on Wii.

True, but would love to see them on a plug and play like this with a TG16 controller.

There's a big difference between copyright and patent.

There's a big difference between copyright and patent.
There is also a slight difference between a copyright and a trademark.

Quote
The Difference Between Copyright and Trademark
While both offer intellectual property protection, they protect different types of assets. Copyright is geared toward literary and artistic works, such as books and videos. A trademark protects items that help define a company brand, such as its logo. For example, Acme Publishing Company can trademark its name and logo, but would copyright books and videos that it created.

So people are going to buy Konami's things even after Kojima and Silent Hills?
