Title: What iconic character do you think should have had a video game but never did?
Post by: marvelvscapcom2 on August 30, 2017, 11:32:53 pm
Is there an iconic celebrity or character that never made it into the video game or arcade world that you feel would have made for an awesome game? :D.   Here are some of my picks :)

1. Evel Knievel (As popular as he was in the 80s i'm suprised there was never an 2600 or NES game centered around him :).  I wasn't alive yet but I know it would have made for a lot of 8 bit fun and nostalgia :D)

2. Floyd Mayweather Jr. (He is a very popular boxer and undefeated at 50-0. One of the best defensive fighters to ever live. It is pretty shocking that no boxing games or companies have come out to license out real boxers like Floyd and some of the other popular boxers to play as like the fight night games used to.  Or even a Punchout spin off with him as the final boss would be funny. It would be really fun :) )

3. Flash -  (Flash has one video game for the Sega Master System but he's one of the more popular DC characters. While he does have one game, I really think he should have had many more and on Nintendo or PS consoles too :D )

4. Goldilocks and the Tree bears ( Along with many other childhood stories that never made it to the joysticks, I really think as an 8 or 16bit adventure it would have been fun to avoid the angry bears and have stealth missions where you have to eat their porridge and such :) )

If some of these already exist please let me know because I might be wrong, I am not too deep into niche consoles but I am only going off licensed releases.  Homebrews and PC games don't count.

What are your picks for the number 1 person who never got video game time that you wish did :)

1. Evel Knievel has a game on the GBC at least, I just got it relatively recently.

2. This surprises me, he's only been in 5 video games, and they were 2000-2005... way before his popularity spiked.  For a man who makes a shit ton of money, he could make a good chunk more doing a licensed game.

3. I think any Flash games would suffer from the same issues Sonic has.  I certainly have very little interest in a Flash game.

ANYWAYSSSSS

I'd love to see Waluigi get his own game.  I'll think more on this.  I'm sure there are tons of characters I'd love to see get their own game.

I know I was disappointed when Cowboy Bebop never made its way to the states, same thing with the various Sgt. Frog games.

I know they planned on localizing the Cowboy Bebop game on PS2, but it was cancelled. All the voice work had been done too, and the cast was all wondering what happened to it.

I know.  I had been looking forward to it, I think I even preordered it at Gamestop/Funcoland/EB Games whatever it was at the time.

Flash has a Master System game, an original Game Boy game, and a GBA game.

It would be cool if it resurfaced some day :)

I would love a Birdo game, she never had (?) a game where she was the main character and I honestly think she's one of the most interesting character from the Mario franchise.

oh OH OH! Kill la Kill was so good, why didn't it get a game of some kind?!  I believe there was an interview with Kenji Saito of PlatinumGames a couple years back that they would be interested in making a Kill la Kill game.

Now Little Witch Academia is getting a game... and that's it, splendid

I would kill (pun intended) for a Kill la Kill game. Especially if it was Platinum Games.

Birdo was introduced as a boy who thinks he is a girl and want's to be called Birdetta/Catherine, and is usually considered/referred to as a female character in most of the games she has been. She's never referred to as a he (except in the game she was introduced). Even if she's a boy (or even transgender), she clearly has a feminine appearance so idk why i'd call her a he.

I think someone needs to make a good werewolf game. It's perfect for an action game. At times your character would be able to morph into wolf form and tear some shit up.

Check out Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness. I can't comment on if it's good or not, but I know you can morph into a werewolf.

It's not that good.  It's that shitty early 3D.  You're better off hoping someone makes a good werewolf game.

I might like it. I'm one of the few that actually liked Castlevania 64.

But yeah, I was thinking more of a modern game.

Another icon that hasn't received a game yet:

Vicki Gunvalson.

Flash Gordon.

Has there ever been a game with Flash Gordon? Even some obscure Sinclair or C64 game?

The Flash from the early 20th century serials could be a possiblility, but I personally would prefer a game based on the 1980 movie. I envision it as a side-scrolling action platformer, similar to the SNES Super Star Wars series, just not as brutally difficult. Since in the movie he's a quarterback, maybe he could attack by throwing footballs (that's American footballs to y'all across the pond :) ). End level bosses could include Klytus, General Kala, Prince Barin, and of course the final battle against Emperor Ming. There could be a couple of vehicle levels too, like flying a rocketcycle or taking control of Vultan and DIIIIIVing on the ship Ajax with Queen's music playing in the background...that would be awesome :D
