General / PSP games to soon be valuable
« on: July 06, 2012, 11:58:28 am »
I don't know about you guys, but I have a feeling that some PSP games will explode in value over next 3-5 years. They are so dirt cheap right now, you may want to pick up some of the obvious ones that may be worth money. Plus, a lot of those games are actually really good.

Got tactic ogre: Let us cling together for $8.99 complete at Gamestop. Jeanne D'Arc is like $8 as well.

Just got a feeling that some of these games may be worth a good penny in future. Post any titles that are worth money right now here if you know of any =)

General / Last Chance for 'Last Story'
« on: June 24, 2012, 07:30:39 pm »
If you haven't reserved it already, go reserve the last story for Wii.

You will get a limited edition version, with awesome box art. There is a limited run on this game, and it is a cult rpg coming out toward the end of a system's life cycle. This has VALUE written all over it.

Perfect example - go look what Xenoblade used is going for on eBay. The artbook pre order is selling for about $20 and the game used is about $40-$60.

Last Story will have less copies and a one time run for LE. Good investment to buy two if you ask me.

Thoughts?

Classic Video Games / Who knows what this is worth?
« on: June 24, 2012, 01:16:30 am »
Hey all -

found this at a garage sale, filled with some classic NES games and booklets. Also came with a mint NES. Truth is, I bought this for the chest - seller said it was a bundled sale - and I just cannot find this anywhere.

Any info - such as what the official name of this thing is - would be appreciated. Mainly bought it because of the Nintendo logo in lower right. And it was a good deal - one of the games inside was Sqoon!

General / Please help!

Hey everyone -

Fire Emblem is my favorite SRPG of all time. I specifically bought a 3DS for this game. However, there are no plans to bring it to the United States.

Please help bring Fire Emblem: Awakening to the United States. Just like this Facebook page, please? And help spread the word if you're a fan.

Thanks!

General / Who deleted your epic save file?
« on: April 04, 2012, 12:58:37 pm »
Was it the Mad Katz memory card for your PS1? Or maybe it was your roomate?

Either way, I'm sure we've all lost that epic save file. Mine was FF7. I did everything in that game. I could kill Sephiroth  without even touching my controller. My guys were that bad ass.

I accidentally deleted my friend's Madden season and his way of paying me back was deleting my FF7 save file. Ugh. At that point I had the save file for several years, but still. Madden save file is less than FF7 Ultimate save file!

General / Future Consoles and Banning Used Games
« on: March 28, 2012, 06:04:50 pm »
So, if you haven't heard, the new Playstation has been dubbed the "Orbis." Like the new XBOX, the system is said to block used games, only allowing you to access content with your gamer tag. Through paying some sort of fee, you can access this content if you were to get it used. All of this is from a "source with knowledge of the matter" so this could all be untrue.

As games move toward digital distribution, I wonder what kind of impact this will have on our collections. Will physical copies of games go way up? Or will less people buy these new consoles and convert to PC gaming? I for one see myself buying less games, maybe avoiding the consoles all together if this is true.

The funny thing is, I rarely buy used. The only time I get used is when I discover a game far after it has been released. Either way, I get fired up when I read this sort of stuff. Do you know how many crap, short games come out? And developers expect us to pay $60+ for them and be stuck with them?

In the end, I just see my future children selling my entire collection to Pawn Stars for $50 and feeling like they got some sort of deal lol.

Thoughts?

General / Why you should buy Xenoblade
« on: March 27, 2012, 12:48:01 pm »
I've never played Xenoblade, but friends of mine who have rave about it. They say it is similar to FF 12, my favorite FF ever.

Anyway, the game is coming out in the US this April. The only place selling it will be GameStop. My local Gamestop, which is a very busy one, only has 10 preorders. 8 if you exclude me and an employee that works there.

So, why should you buy this game? Like Suikoden 2, it is coming out at the end of a system's life cycle. It is a cult RPG that will have a limited release (only people who preorder get one). The price for this game is bound to go up. May be worth checking out.

Also, hold on to your Mass Effect 1s, as the price for this game has gone up, too.
