Classic Video Games / Re: DuckTales Full HD Remake Coming!!!
« on: March 28, 2013, 10:10:32 am »
After learning of the remake and seeing the trailer, I've had the Duck Tales theme song stuck in my head every single day since.
I had never heard the song before and it has also been stuck in my head all week... I don't know many of the words so all day in my head I just hear DuckTales Woo-oo! :-\

Definitely won't help you to get it out of your head, but the announcement trailer includes all the words to the song along the bottom of the video.  Watch it and at least then you'll have the whole song stuck in your head.

You're welcome.  :)

After learning of the remake and seeing the trailer, I've had the Duck Tales theme song stuck in my head every single day since.  It's been nearly a week and I absolutely cannot get it out of my head!  Oh well, there are much worse songs...

Also, FACT: Life is like a hurricane.

Marketplace / For Sale: Strategy Guides
« on: March 27, 2013, 07:54:29 pm »
So I have a stack of strategy guides sitting around, some of them I've had for a long time, and I've decided to get rid of them.  I have no shelf space for them, and I don't use them anymore.  Buy a few, buy them all -- make me an offer, or if you have something/s I want in my Wish List, make a trade offer.

All of these are listed in my collection under "Strategy Guides", so if you're curious about what the cover looks like or other general info, take a look.  I've listed the condition of each guide below, but if you have any other specific questions, feel free to post here or send me a PM.  :)

My Collection/Strategy Guides: http://vgcollect.com/ko1ru/strategyguide
Here is the list:

Borderlands - Bought new.  Good condition.  Slight wear to the front and back covers.  Pages are in great shape.
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia - Bought used.  Good condition.  Bought with slight bend in mid-spine.  Pages are in great shape.
Destroy All Humans! 2 - Bought used.  Good condition.  Slight wear to front cover.  Price sticker on front cover.  Pages are in great shape.
Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII - Bought new.  Good condition.  Slight wear to front and back cover.  Price sticker on front cover.  Pages are in great shape.
Elder Scrolls III Morrowind (The Morrowind Prophecies) - Bought new.  Great condition.  Smaller than standard strategy guide.  Pages are in great shape.
Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition - Bought new.  Great condition.  Slight wear to back cover.  Pages are in great condition.
Fable II - Bought new.  Good condition.  Slight wear to front and back cover.  Price sticker on front cover.  Pages are in good condition.
Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition - Bought new.  Good condition.  Crease in middle of front cover, slight wear to front and back covers.  Pages are in good shape.
Final Fantasy Origins - Bought used.  Good condition.  Slight wear to font and back cover corners.  Price sticker on front cover.  Pages are in great shape.
Final Fantasy III (DS) - Bought used.  Good condition.  Slight wear to front and back cover corners.  Price sticker on front cover.  Pages are in great shape.
Final Fantasy VII - Bought new.  Good condition.  Slight wear to front and back covers and spine.  Pages are in great shape.
Final Fantasy VIII - Bought used.  Good condition.  Slight wear to front and back covers and spine.  Back cover has a crease in top corner.  Pages are in great shape.
Final Fantasy IX - Bought used.  Good condition.  Wear to front and back covers and spine.  Slight tear in back cover.  Pages are in good shape.
Final Fantasy X - Bought new.  Good condition.  Wear to front and back covers.  Pages are in good shape.
Final Fantasy X-2 - Bought used.  Good condition.  Slight wear to front and back cover.  Price sticker on front cover.  There is writing on several pages (checkmarks, x's, etc.), otherwise they're in good shape.
Final Fantasy XII - Bought new.  This is probably the one guide I have that's in the worst condition.  Front and back cover are almost ripped from spine, and spine is in poor condition.  Price sticker on the front cover.  Pages are actually in good condition, but are starting to pull away from spine.
Final Fantasy XIII - Bought new.  Mint condition.  Pages are in perfect shape.
Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone - Bought used.  Good condition.  Slight wear to front cover.  Price sticker on back cover, barcode sticker on lower spine.  Pages are in great shape.
Kingdom Hearts - Bought new.  Good condition.  Slight wear to front and back covers.  Pages are in great shape.
Kingdom Hearts II - Bought new.  Good condition.  Slight wear to front and back covers.  Pages are in great shape.
Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria - Bought new.  Slight wear to front and back covers.  Pages are in great shape.

Look what was in my mailbox today.

The reason my wife was so against me going to that dude's place to buy an $80 copy of Earthbound is she already had it on order.  She won't give me a whole lot of details, but says "It was listed wrong and wasn't near what Earthbound usually goes for".  The others were just bonus, but the only double is Shatterhand. Anyone need a copy?
She's probably not being entirely truthful, but it was nice and I'm tickled shitless to have Earthbound in my collection.

Awww, that was sweet.  :)  Congrats!

General / Re: Newer releases and their (lack of) paperwork.
« on: March 27, 2013, 05:11:36 pm »
Oh this makes me so mad.  Game packaging is so cheap these days, especially with those "recycled" cases that Erk mentioned.  DmC has to be the worst: not only does it not come with a manual - or any other paper insert - but it also has one of those thin, stupid recycled cases.   >:(

I think it would be worth noting in the description if a game's release lacks a physical manual.

Modern Video Games / Re: Gears of War Judgment

Oh, don't get me started...  I could go on for days about all the things I'm pissed about as far as Gears 3 and Judgment goes.  I'll save you guys the rant and simply state that Gears of War is no longer truly Gears of War.   :-\

But... EVOLUTIONalfkafl;kaf.

I feel like this is a series that's gonna go the way of Skinny Puppy, where you've got some fans who eat everything up, and some who actually have taste and know when shit dun got broked.

Ha!  That's a great comparison!

According to this panel of gamers, I have no taste in video games...

Nah.  There are plenty of people who do like Gears 3 and even Judgment, and that's fine.  I'm just not one of 'em.  :)

Hmm. Too bad my local GameStop has a horrible DS selection to begin with. :(

Same here :(

Me three.  :(

yea, but they won't promise you the gamecase and manual online if preowned.......

This is worth noting.  I did order some games from GameStop online a while back when they were doing B1G1 PS2 games - luckily nothing was missing from any of them.  They do issue a "warning" of sorts that mentions this very thing with online purchases of pre-owned games, so you do kinda buy at your own risk.

Hello again guys!  Back after a brief absence.  I do that, though: I'm active for a bit and then disappear for short periods of time.  Not to worry, I always wander back at some point.  :)

Welcome back!  Now back to talking about me  8) ;)

 ::)  ;D

Y'all been busy up in her' over the past few weeks... I'll have to catch up on the bulk of it tomorrow.  I also have a stack of strategy guides I'm selling that I'll be posting as well.

Off Topic / Re: Favorite Fast Food
« on: March 26, 2013, 07:36:58 pm »
On the topic of burgers and the quality of meat. The Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri area has a fast food place called Braums, which is pretty good. Just not my style of burger. Braums won't open stores a certain distance away from their farm due to shipping the food and how quickly real food spoils. What I think is nice is that their farm gives tours. One of the few fast food places that let's the public see where the food comes from.

I imagine a few people on this forum are familiar with Braums. I'm not a fan of the fries though. I think they are just Ore-Ida fries.

I've never actually eaten Braums' food.  I've only ever gotten their cherry limeades.  They're pretty good, I guess, but Sonic's are slightly better (Happy Hour FTW!).

On a side note, I tried the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos the other day... They're not bad, but I feel like I need to drink a litre of water after a few because of all the sodium!  :P
