I now have Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate (3DS) pre-ordered, along with Gears of War: Judgment (360).

EDIT:  Yesterday I cancelled my pre-order for Gears of War: Judgment and transferred what I had down on it to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate, which is now paid in full.  After looking over some revealing (read: extremely disappointing) information on Judgment regarding campaign and multi-player, I'm no longer interested in the next Gears installment.

Just recently finished the Valkyria Chronicles series (didn't know it existed until recently) and have now moved on to Kurozuka.  Dark and effed up anime FTW.   

Honestly I forgot all about the Valkyria Chronicles anime also, I looked up Kurozuka and it sounds very interesting so thanks for adding 2 animes to my backlog now.

Hey, no problem.  ;p

I just finished Kurozuka last night, and I have to say it's among my favourites now.

Nothing.  I prefer film and movie franchises to stay away from my vidya games.  I can't think of a single game based on or related to a movie that was actually good, nor can I think of any that have the potential to be more than garbage.

Anime, on the other hand, is entirely acceptable to be translated into games.  There are several games based on/related to anime that were actually good.  Or take Gungrave: an anime that was based on a game.

I got quite a few of these at my Dollar Tree a while back.  The comics were Transformers, but then each of them had a Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers trading card (sa-weet!) packed in with it, all from the early-mid nineties.  I've been looking for more of these comic book packages since, but have failed to find any.

I still have Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 (360) pre-ordered and paid off... Who knows when that's even going to be released.

I'm starting Lost Odyssey for the first time.  Sank a ton of hours into Blue Dragon a little while back, so it's time to give the next Mistwalker title a go.

In all honesty, I like this option. But I do understand that some do like having this information tracked as well.

We've talked about this quite a bit but still don't have a clear answer on how we want to handle it. I personally wouldn't mind getting rid of them or at least adding some sort of filter. Hmm..we'll chat about this with the site staff and see if we can't come up with a solution.

I like having the ability to see all of the games I own for a specific system. I don't think deleting them all together is a good option. I have several repro carts and several homebrews. I know a lot of people collect them along with retail releases. Maybe you could just make a sub category for each? I don't know the solution that will make everyone happy, but I want to retain the ability to track them in my collection.

I agree with Darko.  Although I don't own any repros or homebrews myself, I can see how having a sub-category would be helpful to those who do.

I personally don't mind seeing them when I browse a particular platform's games.  It's actually kinda cool to see some that I didn't know existed.

Are you counting Xbox Live Arcade? Because that would make that list exponentially bigger.

I'm actually interested to know which XBLA titles are schmups.  Not for myself, of course, but for the boyfriend. 

I'm interested in that too. But wanted to keep the list to retail for a bit, before we add XBLA games to it.

My boyfriend's done this.  There are some small elements (mostly superficial) that's he's not entirely happy with, but it was his first one.  He's planning to build another one at some point soon.

... Vastly prefer the PS3 controller for fighters, though. I'm blown away that anyone can handle more than about 5 minutes w/ the 360 controller. I think it might actually take the award for the worst D-Pad I've ever encountered.

Y'know they released some 360 controllers with the transforming D-Pad, mostly for fighters.  Even my wireless Gears of War controllers have it...

This is exactly what I'll be doing.  Obviously both companies will have to make their case to me, the consumer, before I make a concrete decision, but I'm willing to bet that the current generation of consoles is the end of the line for me.  I'll work on filling out libraries for systems I currently own, get older consoles/handhelds I don't own, and even snag a PS3 (once it drops in price) at some point for some of its gems as well.

Funny thing is, I'm kinda OK with it. I mean, my current wishlist has literally hundreds of games on it, so it's not like I'm going to ever run out of shit to play. I can't even keep up with the games I already have ...

Exactly.  I'm very OK with it.
