I remember watching MTV and MTV2 when they actually played music videos. Thinking about that, 3 Doors Down's Kryptonite was one of the first songs I've learned to play on my guitar! I'm with you on discovering rock genre around the millennium, before than I would listen to mainstream pop as kid.

Those were some of the early bands that lead me into the rock, than metal genre eventually. Can't say I listen to many artist of the 1960's below.  As for bands a few of my favorites throughout the decades are:

Once upon a time, I found this band called Metallica, and they're quite the hidden gem.

Here around where I Live near Rock City Detroit Michigan, Metallica was never hidden at all. In fact mostly all the 1990's and 2000's that is all my favorite radio station played at the time called 101.1 THE WRIF. yea Walmart sell all their albums at discount prices. My favorites include RIDE THE LIGHTNING. THE BLACK ALBUM, LOAD AND RELOAD. BUT,  I am not a fan much of Master Of Puppets and Kill Em All. and the rest of them. Now Mega Deth is pretty much forgotten around here and pretty much all else metal bands of the 1980's and 1990's.

People thought "Xena: Warrior Princess: The Talisman of Fate" WAS a terrible video game on the N64. but It is actually a whole lotta of fun.

Xena: Warrior Princess: The Talisman of Fate. IS an easy fighting video game, where you can have up to 3 computer teams. Including your own team and go up against lets say 5 players on a team max. or 4 human users players at your birthday party. or computers.

It's a sword fighting game with characters from the Xena Warrior Princess TV cable TV show of the 1990's. you can even be Caesar, and cheat by dropping a rock on someones head. or call on an invisible army to shoot arrows at your enemies. AND believe it or not you can avoid spam cheaters, if you learn to jump and duck but mostly ducking, and walking sideways to avoid the cheaters who want to keep cheating all the time.

General / DO You Keep GAMES Sealed forever or/and sell? or? Attend to Play them? and keep?

I only collect cheap used games mostly. because I find a used cheap game can be just a fun as a new game. I love the smell of unopened video games. But I don't plan on keeping my 3 sealed video games sealed forever. believe it of not I bought Medal Of Honor sealed for $under $15.00 american for the PS3 and that Game is awesome. I found it used, still sealed at a used video game market for an excellent price and that is an excellent game. Cracked case yes, manual yes, hole in seal yes, disc in mint condition yes manual in mint condition. apparently someone no longer want. original seal well no longer. I opened it and played that game because I don't want my games sealed forever. I buy video games to play them. not to profit or sell them. But someday I may share them with other people for free. I'll only sell them if I'm desperate again. for food.

I play to keep and keep on collecting just to have them because I know that physical   video games are rare period. don't let anyone tell you different. Physical copies don't last forever. AND sometimes in order to have something Physical  again you just gotta open a seal copy. Data is more interchangeable that Physical copies, at least some good data is free on ROM sites, also some bad and good data can be found on corrupt ROM web sites. They say that ROMS are illegal but what do you think a PS4 uses people? I guess if you PAY it's legal but even back in the 1990's hackers used to put viruses on PC video games (THAT MY PARENTS USED TO PAY MONEY FOR) and even the SONY PS1 demo disc is actually a memory card breaker i read.

Sorry to make so many topics Admin's I hope to keep the conversation going, and being a newbie I don't know if bring ancient topics back to life is a good idea. I got in trouble for that on a different forum. RUNNING SEARCH AFTER THIS POST.

Are you talking about "Rare Bucky"? That guy has like 20 copies of every game ever made, new and sealed, in unopened crate-fulls. I'd love to know how he got all of that. Seems really shady.

hmm never heard of him, but sounds like he or she is some selfish rich jerk

I only own 3 sealed copyed game and that is Banjo Tooie. but I took it out of it's paper box and left it inside a plastic bag hopeful to keep mildew of it

2nd is Mega Man x Collection for PS2 and Lego Marvel Heros for PS3 greatest hits. I just hevent's gotten to those games yet.

LOL a Japanese video game that is not in english for $500.00 and I need to know Japanese to play it successfully and I knew that. because of this joke I just created today of VG collect.


JOKE: what is an RPG or JRPG if you can't figure out what is going on? in the story line, at least?

I didn't buy that game why? because I rather buy another hack and slash in English.

Sometimes it pays good money to know Japanese for the ones who can afford to.

I played RPGS that keep on changeing the decicions and some of them will get you a game over people

Hey! the most chews and confusion on the market is making a really local place actually play the games first before selling them AND reading these forums on the internet.

 AND the honest forums, and not the stupid ones. heck this one guy is selling me $1.00 games AND he knows their good games because I told him and he already knows  . Some of the most rarer and hard to find games COULD BE FRECKLING HARD TO FIND BECAUSE THEY SOMETIMES COULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETE GARBAGE TO BEGIN WITH. 
 
#1: which is why they probably didn't sell vary well in the first place.
OR
#2: maybe they ARE good games but they didn't make enough or someone robbed the company or took all them and their house burned down

BUY WHAT you can afford. but try to get the common ones first if their still at a decent price that is.

the market is screwed up. I think the 007 Goldeneye for n64 should be re released because that game is a darn expensive yet COMMON and HARD to find video game in my local Area. BUT I played enough of that as a teenager so time to Move On OLDGAMERZ

If your into 3D arcade games there are some interesting ones.

If you like arcade titles these are not titles that one can call bad.

If you are a 2D purist I can imagine that one can hate the N64 but the good games aren't bad.

Than again the N64 is just another console to collect for, you don't need to focus only on N64 just another console to play some games on.

There are some gems on this system wich are allot better than average and to be fair haven't ages that much and still look great.

I actually have "Star Soldier Vanishing Earth" I always thought it was an american game. didn't know I ever owned anything that was official made in Japan, I do know it is in English. I think I only paid 10-15 US currency for it at a flea market vendor called "The Video Game Graveyard" it's seems in great conduction. in Fact I think it is one of the only shoot em ups on the N64 console

  well I collect video games period. I have over 1,000 only thing is my digital collection on VGcollect is far behind.

I go to a place where used games don't cost that much and they are in great condition. I am not rich but I have a  local flea market.

I love collecting compilations. in fact I like compilations more than individual copies because most have other ways of playing them for example Mega Man Anniversary collection lets you save your game and change difficulty and life setting on all the Mega Man Original series plus 2 games only released  in Japan prior to the series. Although I never play Mega Man X Collection yet in which includes all the Mega Man X games plus some newer ones also.

I pretty much collect anything that is affordable and I collect what I like. I own a bunch of consoles but not any of the Atari or Colecovision or Intellivision or so called dead 1980's companies and definitely not an Atari Jaguar. although I only own 1 Sega console. that is a Sega Genesis / Sega Mega Drive 2. I used to own a perfectly good Sega Saturn I got for free from trading in some unused things at a thrift shop in the middle of nowhere. I sold it when my vary old PS2 broke.

Classic Video Games / Re: Top Loading NES Question

Haha!  I do have an original NES, but it is giving me the red blinking light error.  Think the 72 pin needs to be replaced, but the Top loader is working fine.  Sad as the system did work when i found it.  (It was in a thrift shop, in the box, contains EVERYTHING include the dust cover, and i got it for 7 bucks as they had it tagged for half off that day!).

You really have 2 logical and simple choices in this situation athmaus!

1: you should try to clean all your NES cartridge tips with 97% Isopropyl Alcohol  and a cue tip and scrubbing them all with a cue tip (both sides) and scrub the top edge with a dry cue tip after. then blow on the cartridges to dry them. insert them into the NES turn them on.  and keep inserting and re-inserting the same game testing it with both the power and the NES reset button. (OR)

2: Get a Retro Duo or Retro Trio (a new one) BUT FIRST. *(CLEAN YOUR CARTRIDGES)* heck mine were so DIRTY when I first started collecting them not even my new Retro Duo would read them.  now all them read 

The Retro Duo cannot be touched by a dog or cat or anything while on or else you have a ruined game session. but that is why you should be carefull
