General / Re: Who else hates GameStop??!!

I don't hate them, but I don't go very often anymore. I do like to check out their sales at times, (some are fairly decent), and I did recently buy a new PS3 there, mostly because because no one else in the area had the one I wanted, (250gb Uncharted 3 super slim bundle, mostly for that year of PS+).

The new game that is opened policy is stupid, but I only buy new games there if they are factory sealed. I don't do preorders there anymore, I use amazon now for that.

I miss Funcoland.

I picked up the scream factory release of Prince of Darkness the other day, probably my favorite Carpenter movie, (or at least incredibly close to the Thing). I love the movie, but my wife hated it, haha.

Site Feedback / Password issue

Not sure if this should go here or not, but just tried to log in and it gave me an invalid password/username, even though my information is stored. I reset and changed it, but not sure what the issue was/is. I didn't receive any other password reset emails, and no one else else has been in my email. Just wanted to mention it.

Wish there were a Best Buy in my area.   ::)

EDIT:  Also, on a semi-related note, GameStop is doing a Buy2Get2 (online only) sale on their pre-owned PS2 games and accessories.  Not much to choose from, but I did go ahead and get Katamari Damaci, Mega Man Anniversary Collection, Devil May Cry 3 (Special Edition), and Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows - the latter two were free.

you got those from the online gamestop page!? Tell me the games was disk only or complete? I'm asking because I want to buy some games from there but I dont know if will come complete

They don't guarantee the case and manual when ordering used online. I did it twice, once I lucked out and got the case and manual when I ordered a copy of Shadow Hearts, and then I didn't when I ordered Metal Gear Solid 2.

I unlocked and started Phantasy Star 1 yesterday, (almost played Sonic and Sonic 2 for much longer, forgot how fun those were), and I like it so far. I am not very far at all, just left town and fought some battles to get a few levels. I like that enemies animate for such an older RPG, I don't recall any of the earlier Final Fantasies having that. Unless I am missing something, it doesn't really tell you were to go. I know I am looking for a guy named Odin, and there is a spaceport to the west, but I feel like I have missed something somewhere.

Anyways, looking forward to the series, I think it'll be quite fun, thanks guys.

I have some P3 paints I use for my miniatures, I think I may try to repaint her myself. She doesn't look like at all, mine at least.

Wasn't sure where to post this, sorry if this is the wrong place. I recently ordered two of these, Link and Tetra from Phantom Hourglass. I got my Tetra today, and man is it awful. The skin color is incredibly dark, and the hair color is a neon lime green. Not to mention the paint job on the clothes is terrible, with colors bleeding into others.

I could have sworn she was suppose to have a lighter skin color, and yellow hair. Anyone have this one and it looks like that? I'm worried my Link is gonna look terrible as well.

Well I ordered the 360 Ultimate Genesis Collection a few days ago from Amazon, (and it still hasn't shipped, now I remember why I stopped using them), really looking forward to playing these games, heard good things about the Shining Force games as well. I saw you have to unlock Phantasy Star 1, is this difficult to do?

How is the story across all the games? Pretty decent? I will pick up the Sonic Ultimate Collection for the 360, (don't have a PS3).

I know the first 4 Phantasy Stars are more traditional in terms of an RPG, I am just not sure if I should play all 4 or focus on just 1 in particular. I don't think the first is on the eshop, is it?

For a few years now I have heard really good things about this game, however have never played any of the series aside from PSO on the Dreamcast and Gamecube. Is it really as good as I have heard? Is there a specific version that is better then another? I see it in the Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection and I see it also on the Wii eshop. Are they identical?

Another thing, as I have never played the series, is it a better idea to start with the first? Does the story connect across the four games? I have heard mixed things about Phantasy Star III, is it as bad as people have said?

Sorry if these are silly questions, haven't played an RPG in a little bit, and I thought I would play one, (or a series), while I play Wind Waker and the other Zeldas.

If it comes to the Wii U I will definitely check it out. If not, then I will wait for a used 360 copy. I loved the first two in the series, had a crap ton of fun with them, especially since I thought I would not like the series at all.

Picked up Donkey Kong Jungle Beat with the Bongos for 14.00, I have always been interested in this game and now I see I can use a regular controller, SWEET!

Also found a small place down the road from my house that is kind of a gamers lounge, but they sell a few things. Met the owner, he was really cool, and snagged a copy of Spirit Tracks on the DS with case and manual for 20.00.

Modern Video Games / Re: Capcom is broke and dying

It would really suck if they shut down. Their on disc dlc practices are incredibly lame and stupid, but I have liked their past few games. I loved DmC, (my GotY still so far), though I understand why fans didn't, but hearing fans say things like "we'd rather not have another Devil May Cry then a sequel to DmC, just let the series die," is petty on their part.

And Resident Evil 6. Man, I really don't get the hate this game gets, even as a Resident Evil game. I am a fan of the series, (2 being my favorite), and have enjoyed all the games, (except 5, which was awful), and I love Resident Evil 6. It was is an awesome game. 4 campaigns, better partner AI, awesome graphics. This one is leaps and bounds better than 5 in every single way, (except maybe graphics, 5 looks better to me for some reason), yet fans hate on it left and right while saying 5 is good. I don't get that at all. I paid full price for RE6 and don't regret it at all. Just think of what Capcom could have done with this game, as in charge you 4 times for each campaign.

Though some of their things I don't agree with, (just sit on Megaman and do nothing?), I still think they make solid games and it is going to suck if they go under.

General / Re: Game Room Pics
« on: October 06, 2013, 10:58:13 pm »
Alright, well here goes:

Here is one angle of my man cave, (I suppose it isn't quite a game room):

And another angle:

Here are my consoles, though I have an NES, (barely works), and an N64, (no games):

My small Disney Infinity collection:

My wife and I have a Star Wars figure collection to the right of the Infinity stuff, couldn't get a full picture though:

Skyward Sword poster with a Gamestop The Last Story advertisement on top:

To the left of my tv console I have my World of Warcraft CEs, (I don't play anymore):

And then to the left of that on another wall is my book shelf:

Behind the couch is my case with my games:

Wii games:

My little Link with a few LE boxes:

Wii U games, (I order Tekken Tag Tournament 2 today), and my few 3DS games:

Gamecube games and 360 games:

My small Final Fantasy VIII shelf, (favorite JRPG of all time). I also have some little crystal red Coke figures, but haven't found em since the move:

Burger King Lord of the Rings goblets with the books, (my dads books actually, bought in the 60s or 70s, can't recall) on top of the case:

And last, my PC, (I do a little gaming on it, though not as much as I once did), and my 3DS xl:

And that is about it. I ordered two little Zelda figures that look to size with the Wind Waker HD Ganondorf, (I ordered Tetra and Link, though I think they are from Phantom Hourglass technically), and I plan to set them up between my Wii U games and my Gamecube games. Not quite as awesome as these game rooms I have seen here, but it is quite cozy. Sorry the pics are kinda big, couldn't figure out how to adjust the size.
