My Copy of Project Justice, Tech Romancer, and Fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves is likely the pride of my collection. They are CIB with flawless cases and discs.

Lunar 1 and 2 for the PS1 are also cool and CIB but the boxes are just toast. Vanguard Bandits and Elemental Gearbolt are CIB and very minty. Alundra 1 and Thunder Force V are loose but they were cheap and they work.

Last is my Sega Genesis CD 32X. Just having the voltron of gaming assembled and working is pretty cool. I guess I can add Kolobri and Knuckles Chaotix to the list. Even cart only they aren't easy to get and the carts I got are nice and clean.
,
That said I have some fairly rare stuff for Saturn but it's because I cheaped out on loose discs.
Albert Oddessry, Dragon Force, Mega Man X4, Legend of Oasis, and Marvel Super Heroes. Night Warriors is box and CD only.

At the end of the day I just want the game in good working order and so a lot of my games are loose, incomplete, or have label damage.

Slims do tend to work last longer. And I am not and never been a fan of disc drives are auto opening in consoles. So that makes me one of the few that likes the super slim PS3 over the slim too. Paranoia that the system will eat my game. lol

Here in the the US I would say that the sixth Generation Dreamcast/PS2/Xbox/Gaemcube is the most recent console retro generation.

You know you don't need the spacer or the clips right? The clips was just some stupid FCC stuff that they made Sega do and while the spacer makes it LOOK a lot better the 32x will work fine without it.

also if you get a third party 32X connector cable online make sure its 8 pins on it and not 9. If there is 9 pins it means it was made with the 5V pin and you will have to snap that pin off so you don't cook your 32X/Genesis.

Good Luck!

The first one is my personal favorite and I still go through and play it to this day along with star tropics. That said the best one to start with would be 8. That is agreed by a lot to be the best and one of the more accessible entries in the series. The 7 remake on the 3DS isn't a bad choice ethier.

Actually Sega Genesis and Sega Dreamcast aren't too bad either. While both have their high end titles..there is a lot of cheap fun to be had on both systems. For Sega Genesis start out super cheap with "Six Pack" Has six great genesis games on one cart. On Dreamcast get things like Sonic Adventure 1, Sega Rally ,and Virtual Fighter 3tb. PS2 is a good system as well and lets you tap into the whole PS1 Catalog if you get lucky.

Finally don't fear the "Greatest Hits/Player's Choice" Lables. Yes they are ugly as sin we know. But chances are a Greatest Hits Re-print is going to be a lot cheaper than the original label and you have a decent chance of the game being something you actually want to play.

Anything worthwhile from the House of Mario isn't gonna come cheap. Even the most average NES and SNES games go for 10$ USD and up these days. More sought after titles can get into the 50-60 range fast.

Saturn, only on Sega's 32 bit console can you see people selling lots of sports games for 80 bucks..and getting it easy. I look for US Saturn to be the next Neo Geo.

Finally if you can find a working system, Atari 2600 games are cheaper than dirt.

Got one of the heavy hitters off my Dreamcast list in a trade.
Tech Romancer and Capcom VS SNK. Im really excitied about Tech Romancer as it is hard to find even on Ebay.

the SNES to PS1 era. My best friend and I were still playing the older systems well into the PS1/N64/Saturn Eara. Lots of hours on countless games and systems swapped between us. The Sega Dreamcast was also a very fondly remembered time.

Classic Video Games / Re: Has a game ever put you to sleep? No joke.

No Man's Sky did it to me recently. Not because it was boring per se, but it was just such a chill and relaxing game I just kind of drifted off. I also tend to fall asleep playing racing games. I get Highway hypnosis from racing games apparently. =P

My god, what did they do to that Dawn of Sorrow box? That is one of the most awful reprint boxes I have ever seen. The best seller labels are better than the yellow murder stripe on Gamecube games however.

Funny thing is we are getting a HD remake of FFXII next year and it's the Zodiac Job System version that had tons of content added..you know if FFXII wasn't a huge game already. I'm excited for it personally.

As
I don't believe a backwards compatible PS3 can play PS2 or PS1 games from another region unless you have a launch model.

A backwards compatible PS3 will only play PS1 and PS2 games for the region it is made in. So a NA Backwards Compatible PS3 will only play NA region PS1 and PS2 games. Also interestingly enough the means to region lock a PS3 game is supported on the PS3 if the developers wanted to do it but since Sony didn't require it, most didn't bother to do so.

One of the best features about the Playstation family of systems now days. Any system can play games from any region with a few oddball expections. The PS3, PS4, and PS Vita are all region free. I think the PSP is too but I'm not 100% sure.

Retro Speaking my copy of Lunar Eternal Blue stands supreme as my all time favorite. Best collectors edition of my modern games was my copy of Guilty Gear Xrd. Nothing special about it really but I had to pick something. Limited collector editions don't get me excited now days. I don't get them unless they have a soundtrack CD

FFXIII isn't really as bad as people make it out to be. I actually enjoyed my time with it and XIII-2.
