Classic Video Games / Re: Anyone collect sealed video games only?

If the game has a cult following, or got high praise, but had limited copies (announced) or an announcement of sales floppage, THAT s when you by multiple sealed copies for the game. Especially when it slightly goes down in price temporarily before the spike.

When and end of a game or console cycle starts to come in, like the 360 and PS3 now, although some prices are already rising, THIS is the ONLY time where you can get games which will be worth 10's of 100's for like less than $20. Sealed and used, whether in store or online.

I don;t understand the GBC comparison, the GBC was an (ill) though out new system with completely different specs, and was a far step up (despite, like the original GB being horrible inferior to the competition)

The New 3DS can't be compared to the 32X either. Because the New 3DS is going to cancel out the older models regardless of whether it has 100 exclusive games or 20. This revision was basically made to make t seem like a new system to extend 3DS life and play back 3DS games. While killing the original 3DS lines, and the 2DS which technically is already dead.

Most of the actual upgrade is buttons too. Power is 20% more and only maybe 10% of that will actually show, look how bad Xenoblade runs.

See the above is what I was talking about.  The install base will split in 4 ways.

This is a very odd choice given that the 3DS XL revision was already a hit on the install base and the 2DS which didn't sell that well, made things a bit worse. In fact, I thought the point of that was moving away from 3D, but now they have a 3DS with better specs, More buttons, and exclusive games?

I think some people may just wait for the real next handheld by Nintendo.

But you cant play the demo on a pc lol. I mean ground zeroes.

Updates with prices. These are not final. (except the phones.)

there was a Namco one for 360, PSP, Wii and DS

Midway Arcade Origins for PS3 and 360

Konami Classics (Vol1) for 360

No museums in those games.

I grew up and own many of Namcos multiple classics. But ever since the end of the Playstation 1, Namco (Actually the Gameboy and N64 versions didn't have one either IIRC) has never put an atmospheric museum in their NM games. I know I may be ranting about a small thing but the museum had history of all the games, remixed soundtracks based on the games music or sound effects, extras like the Druaga Comic book in Vol.3, it was amazing.

Now all it basically boils down to is press X on the game you want. Nothing as atmospheric, interesting, or educational. In fact, I think Multiple companies should try (although a different take on it) making their own Museums too. Midway, Capcom, Mattel, Coleco, Activision, Sega etc, instead of just making a list you can select, or at least put some interactive educational material somewhere that's optional.

With todays graphics a museum could be AWESOME. Not only that, you can add more information and extras in todays games then back then. It would basically be a dream come true.

Hello, I'm new here, how's everyone doing?

As you can see, I am a huge fan of Namco and their Druaga series. It's sadly pretty niche so I don't meet people often who know about the games. But at least I play all the Namco classics so I'm sure people will know at least SOME of them!

Some of my favorites include Toypop, Pole Position, Rally X and others.

Nothin wrong with two topics if there's a month in between I reckon.

Classic Video Games / Your favorite Megaman Game?
« on: August 28, 2014, 10:52:06 am »
What is your one most liked game in the entire Megaman Franchise?

For me, like most people who have continued to play through numerous spin-offs, originals, and remakes, always go back to picking a game from the Megaman X Series as this is where Megaman peaked in terms of story, gameplay, and design.

I would place my hand on Megaman X4 as the greatest Megaman game of all time. The gameplay was solid and fun, the game requires fast reactions and to use the layout of the stage  to your advantage or you would pay the consequences... or get killed by some drill thing. The Voice acting was a bit mixed even in the original Japanese version (which runs slower for some reason?) and I have dipped for this game multiple times, getting the original and the greatest hits release on the Playstation 1, getting the Saturn version, buying all 3 X Collections on the Gamcube, Xbox, and Playstation 2, PSP PSN store before they removed it quietly, and now it has been announced officially for the PSvita PSN store a couple days ago! I can't wait to play the game on my beautiful OLED screen.

I'm torn between the two since they both excite me quite a bit, but also have this inflated hype feel around them. The announcement Bungie made about how many planets you can visit and only one area per planet kind of hurt my personal hype for it a little. MCC has really focused too much on Halo 2. I'm not sure if the other games in the collection has as much effort put into them. Did they fix up Halo 3 along with the resolution boost to 1080p? Or did they just stretch it? How about fixing up those textures in certain areas in Halo 4? And Halo 1 isn't the same remaster as the 360 game I Hope?
