I did a quick search and didn't find any posts. Of course, we're months away, but since the 3 days sold out in less than 2 days, I figured I'd ask if anyone else is going. I purchased my 3 day the day they were available and I'm glad I did. Single-days are still available. I know it's not the best for many, seeing how if you don't live in Boston or near-by you have to pay for accommodations; I luck out because I live in Boston and less than a stones through from the T.

If anyone is planning on going, maybe we could do a quick meet up. I'm sure a group picture would look good for the site, but I'd love to talk games with other collectors. Like I said, it's a ways away, but if you're interested post here.

General / Any suggestions of places that make sew-on patches?
« on: July 15, 2012, 11:08:59 pm »
This is strange, but I'm looking for a place that makes video game patches or custom patches to sew on to backpacks. I have been carrying around my Timbuk2 more frequently in preparation for my Sager laptop to arrive (yay!) and I'm looking (and haven't found) a place that makes patches related to VGs. I'm specifically looking for a Dreamcast (red) swirl, but I'd be interested in in some 8-bit or 16-bit characters like Simon Belmont (from SCV4,) Bill/Lance from Contra, or pretty much any character from Street Fighter II.

Seeing how my laptop will be plastered with Minecraft decals, I doubt there'd be room for anything there, though I may get a DC Swirl logo or some Street Fighter decals for it.

Recently--no, but I do have a few good finds ever since I started collecting again.

I purchased a Model 2 Saturn CIB for 25 bucks once. I was pretty excited although I already had a model 1 Saturn. I also found a copy of Ikaruga for the Gamecube for 5 dollars, not very rare, though it is uncommon and since I love shmups I was happy to buy it. I also found a loose Super Metroid in really good shape for 3 bucks and Banjo-Tooie CIB for 4 bucks.

Probably my rarest find, however, is the sealed copy of FF7 I picked up. Let's just say that the coffee I had while shopping was more expensive.

I was going to take pics and show you my controllers ... but all my stupid batteries are dead at once.

My controllers just hang from the tacks that are used to keep my posters on the wall. I even have a 4 score and a Satellite hanging on the wall. They are easily accessible and are sort of decoration when not in use.

I'd still love to see if you can upload a picture. I'm still stuck with plastic pins.

Does anyone else have a suggestion?

I've had this problem for a long time. I haven't found a good way to neatly display my controllers and/or keep them readily available. I'm one of those people that frequently plays multiple consoles, and its messy to keep my controllers out. Normally I use velcro ties and plastic bins to store my controllers, but I have long wished for a way to have my controllers on display without having to stoop to hiding them until use. I like collecting weird controllers, some of which I'd never use, but there are many unique 3rd party controllers that I like to have out so people can "feel" them or see how awkward they are.

If anyone has any tips or question, please post!

Does anyone have a list of games that came with bonuses, specifically posters? After picking up some genesis games here and there, a few of them, specifically the sports games, have posters. Does anyone have a list that includes what games have posters?

I'm really curious about ToeJam & Earl, because I'm not sure if the poster came with it or if it was a promotional item.

Site Feedback / Suggestion: "Compare" view mode
« on: May 07, 2012, 10:26:56 pm »
I think it would be a cool idea if when looking at another user's collection if you could do a "compare view" where you can easily see overlaps, what you have and what they have. You could have one tab for each of the three mentioned categories, and within those tabs, you can have the platforms.

I had this idea while talking to another member, and they mentioned they were interested in some NES games that I have that they don't. I only have 50 or so, but they have almost 400, so sorting through the pages is tedious.

Anyways, keep up the great work everyone!

And on a separate note, is there a donate button somewhere that I'm missing?  ::)

The part numbers are different, but they seem to be the same entry.
