Classic Video Games / Does anyone own any super rare games
« on: March 06, 2016, 11:51:38 am »
Buy super rare i mean games that you cant find on ebay or other stores. Could be a 5 dollar game or $5,000. A game like earthbound or little samson would not count because they can be bought easily if you dont mind paying crazy cash.

not a horror game but hen i was young the flood in halo used to really scare me.

It's a great start. Just be aware that sound emulation on the smash pack is pretty bad. I mean it's still playable but you will notice it.  But still a lot good game play.

the only game i have played on the  genesis before playing on the smashpack was sonic  :-\

I had a ps1, xbox, and ps2 as a kid. I had no idea that games like Chrono Cross, Final fantasy 7, Ico, Kotor, ninja gaiden just to name a few even existed. I was to buisy playing, Crash, Spyro, Halo, and fable.

The big thing holding me back is that my local retro store never really has games for it.

Yea i get it alot for games i wish i had as a kid. In particular a game "Grabbed by the ghoulies" was a game i  always wanted but never seemed to pick it up. I finally got it last year.

I feel like your arguing with me just to argue. I mean this isn't a hard concept to follow at all. Blue is mispelled in the branding, therefore a lot of people mistakenly spell it Blue-Ray, because that's how the word would be spelled in proper English.

...why is this so confusing for you?

Cant we all just get along?

Well also you got to realize the GameCube were not as popular as the PlayStation 2 or Xbox so it's not as widely available as those 2 and I feel people are just now seeing how amazing the GameCube's library actually is and are starting to get those games. As for N64 kind of the same reason + people who grew up with it now having disposable income. Basically the same reason NES & SNES prices shot up.

Yep, I remember I didnt want the gamecube (as a youngin) back in the day, because.... You couldnt play DVDs!, yes, that was a factor back in the day, and that is why i had a ps2 haha

That was big back in the day. The Ps3's blue ray was useless though.

What was useless about the PS3's Blu-Ray drive?  The system was cheaper than many stand-alone Blu-Ray players and the storage space allowed for games to fit on a single disc with uncompressed audio and video.  For an example of a game that benefited from the storage capacity of Blu-Ray, compare Final Fantasy XIII on PS3 and 360.  The 360 video was grainy as hell.

Edit:  Ah...I see.  Xbox fanboy.   ::)

Nothing wrong with the PS3's blue-ray. It's about Blue-Rays in general, they haven't been nearly as popular as DVD's.

It seems to me like Nintendo Consoles are the most collected consoles in the hobby. I understand that Sega and Atari has less of a fan base because they are out of the industry, but why are Sony and Microsoft less collected for hen say N64 and GameCube?

Mass Effect. Have beat it about 10 times at roughly 30 hours a play through.

For me its Retro for RPG's and other games based around stories. But shooters and sports games are definitely better on modern consoles.
