This is just showing the gaming closet without touching anything. Almost everything is hidden. I can take more pics if requested.

Hands down, Super Smash Brothers 64.

I'll give him $300 for that lot. (trying to lower market inflation). I still have not used a virtual boy.

Classic Video Games / Retro Game Price Inflation
« on: April 24, 2012, 07:47:27 pm »
I have noticed that in the past couple of years video game prices for NES, SNES, Genesis Etc. games have started to rise tremendously on Ebay. It also seems that Craigslist prices are going up, too.

What could be causing this?

My thoughts: The internet and the amount of information that is readily available to anyone who looks for it. People see what games are going for, and will maybe sell theirs for a dollar above or below that price.

Ebay "Buy it NOW". People really do shoot for the stars when pricing their games.

I will stop there.

What do you guys think? Predictions for the future? Pros, Cons, etc.

I was also there. Did you guys ever spend time in the Classic Console Gaming room? I was pretty much there the majority of the time.

I loved the music on Rainbow Road in Mario Kart 64, that level was just fun!

I don't know if this counts, but Hyrule's Castle on Super Smash Bros 64.

Casino Zone on Sonic made me want to live in Vegas SO MUCH!

All Mortal Kombats were strictly forbidden. That, and any grand theft auto game. My dad would flip.

That was a great back and forth battle. I've never seen Tetris Attack before and now I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

How far did your friend end up going?

He got 2nd place. I think it was a 48 man bracket. That youtube account has all the videos from the tournament.

Welcome Mike! I'm the dude responsible for all of this so if you have any questions or suggestions just let me know!

EDIT: I see you've already made some suggestions. I'll address those when I get time. Thanks!

I absolutely LOVE this site! Thank you very much! I have a couple of websites I am working on. One was handed to me to help out (I haven't changed anything since responsibility was handed over) http://www.tetrisattack.org and my own project (which I have seriously neglected) http://www.drmariorx.com. If you have any small tasks I probably could help out here. I need excuses to learn PHP. It would probably be better if it were later, just so you guys know I am not some scumbag.

I might as well throw this out here just to break the ice a little more:

I am on the right. I had to play against my friend and roomate on the 2nd round. It was single elimination so I was sad that one of us would have to go that early in the competition.

Site Feedback / Re: Suggestions

Suggestions:
1.) Permissions to users who are trustworthy with edits. I make a few of them (I think 35 yesterday?) and I sort of feel bad throwing more busywork towards you guys to approve.

2.) IRC chat room, or some sort of chat room (I know it was already mentioned).

3.) Ability to pick and choose which games are displayed in the "Collection Image" for signatures. I think it would be nice to show your top 5 games instead of your latest 5 (mostly because my latest 5 should be updated and it shows some bad games I have, lol).

4.) Bio, or location display in everyone's profile page (ability to hide it).

5.) Keep being awesome!

I will fly out to anywhere to compete. I have been all over the country (even Hawaii) to compete in Smash and Tetris Attack. I really love those games. I don't even know how many times I have competed at this point. I saved all my plane ticket stubs, so I could check.

You are right, Delphine. Fixed. I still haven't played Earthbound. I remember starting it as a rom ages ago and turned it off when I realized it was an RPG. Soon I will test out RPGs again, I am sure they are great.
