Well we went out with $50 cash and got 7 games and a GameBoy Advanced for a total of $40

I think we did ok. We also met a guy that said he had a warehouse full of older stuff he is trying to get rid of. We are going to take a trip out there probably Wednesday.

Lol I sold an old electric mower and got $60.

My Daughter and I are planning to go out this week and look at thrift stores in the area and I found a place called Found It Electronics I have not been too yet(who knows we might get lucky).

well and i would only want a cart that was a color Nintendo never used for that system so its obvious, and yes i have seen the etsy.com ones that are customizable as far as cart color... ill skip the all in one cart....I would rather buy a repo cart once a year. And shoot if i ever find a legit "little samson" cart that thing is going in an airtight display box.

I use emulators on newer consoles playstation and newer but 8-bit and 16-bit just isnt the same. Give me original hardware and a tube TV.

As far as emulators I am actually making a Gameboy Zero(gameboy with a raspberry zero in it) and a NES PC(mini ITX mobo in a old broken NES)
Both in various stages atm just time and money on those.

And I get both sides of the opinion...I had already made up my mind it was more of to see what people thought...and there is no wrong answer.

I do emulation on some but its not the same as having a cart.

And shoot we are going to stick to the $5 and under games for as long as possible...but you never know when you will come across that "Little Samson" in a big box of random carts. Lol and having a cute little girl at a flea market asking for a game might just get it cheaper.

I also had the though of looking a garage sales for that box that someone just wants to get rid of or estate sales. Or even buying a big lot and keeping what we need and selling or trading the rest.

But $400-800 for a game no thank you. ill get the $30-50 repo...

My daughters and I are in Dallas/Fort Worth and was wondering if anyone in the area may have some good suggestions to find some cheap Cartridge games.
We are just starting so I don't want to spend more than $5 per game unless its a very rare game.

Any suggestion would be great, we are looking to go out at least once a week to look for stuff.

The game I first remember the most was Alley Cat for DOS, we had a 286 growing up.

We also had a Apple II with the green screen and my parents have pics with me with some ABC game...but dont remember that myself.

Hi, my name is Matt and my daughter(Novi) and I are going to start collecting cartridge games and game systems. We plan to start with NES and SNES.

I plan to get at least 80% of our collection in person, for example trade someone locally, pawn shop, thrift stores, flea markets, or meet up with someone in a parking lot i found on craigslist. I want to avoid ordering on Ebay or stuff like that because again its something i want to get my Daughter, and starting young at 5yrs old and eventually my 2yr old daughter as well. Kinda a father/daughter bonding thing. That is the hope at least.

Look forward to shareing with all of yall what we find and maybe even trading with yall once we start getting duplicates.

So I plan to start collected all cartridge games and consoles. I have a handful of games NES, SNES, and N64 from growing up. And my though was to collect with my daughters.

My question is about Repo carts on very hard to get and find games. Such as Earthbound, or really any other cart that goes for outrageous prices. My though was when I have the extra money to get the Repo cart in a different color so I have the games and complete set to play. And later if we come across a really great find get the real thing...but I have no intention of paying more the $50 for a rare title and to me $50 is high(probably wont be using ebay much).

So what are yall's thoughs using repo carts to supplement your Original carts. (i only intend to get the repo carts in a color the original carts were not sold in)
