Dunkin Dark.  Although I think they renamed it Dunkin Midnight recently.

I think there will always be a small subset of games released as physical medium, if only to cater to people like us.  We are already seeing new games programmed for legacy cartridge systems.  Sure these are small home brews now, but eventually it could be a fully formed niche market.  Just look at the comeback vinyl has made.

Ironically I think Kmart was the first store I ever saw used games in, and the first place I ever bought them from.  They had SNES carts in blue cardboard trays that were shrink wrapped.  I bought a copy of Act Raiser for 14.99 (I think) back in 1995.

Video Game Deals, Sales and Promotions / PS4 20th Anniversary Edition

Sony is releasing a 20th anniversary PS4.  It's grey like the original and has etchings with the PS shapes and the number 20.  Individually numbered.  Only 12300 will be made.  Details on price and how to get one will be given at the Play Station Experience keynote on Saturday.  I have a feeling the price on this is going to start crazy and get crazier.  Apparently in Spain it will be sold via charity auction.

So, who's going to fight over this one? ;)

Came here to say Baulder's Gate Dark Alliance but saw that was the first response ;D.  In addition Snowblind Studios made two very similar games called Champions of Norrath after they lost the D&D licence.

I noticed hat no one mentioned any shooters.  Prior to the advent of online multiplayer the best shooters let you kill your friends split-screen with some bots thrown in the mix.  My personal favorites were the Red Faction and Timesplitter series.  The third Timesplitters even had a co-op campaign. Red Faction 2 had the ability to use a usb mouse for aiming!

Basically we all agree that the site is awesome and those responsible are doing a great job! But any increase in any increase in organizational complexity is welcome! ;D

Site Feedback / Physical game counter

I love the pie chart.  Could there be a separate counter and/or chart for physical games, as opposed to digital, consoles, accessories, swag etc.?  I feel like the focus of most collectors is on physical games and it would be nice to have a quick count of how many you have.

Video Game Database Discussion / Re: Disney games naming convention

What do you think about Tom Clancy's?

Game Stop employee here.  This is a topic of interest to me.  As a collector and someone who obsessively alphabetizes things it drives me crazy that games in a series or family aren't standardized within our (GameStop's) system.  Tom Clancy is a perfect example.  Games like Hawx are in our system as "Tom Clancy's Hawx" and Tom Clancy's Hawx 2", but Rainbow Six Vegas and Vegas 2 do not have the TC in front of them.  To make matters worse, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 1 and 2 do not have the TC but Ghost Recon Future Soldier does, so it's not even standardized within the same series!  That's my GameStop rant of the day...

On my shelf the Tom Clancy Games are all together but my Disney games are not.  All the Tom Clancy games have a solid color spine and say "Tom Clancy's" prominently so they look good together.  Disney has a longer history and variety and a looser affiliation with some of the games.

Hmm.  Looks kind of like it.  Should have the triforce logo on it right?

I've always enjoyed Game Informer.  I don't know where people get the idea it's all about buying things from GameStop.  It doesn't encourage that at all.  I'm pretty sure their review scores are skewed but I think that about anyone who receives revenue from ads.  I don't pay attention to reviews anyway.  The best place to find reviews is amateurs on YouTube.

Yeah - if nothing else- GI does get some decent interviews, "best of"/"Top #___" lists & subjects, and articles on retro/"history of gaming" sort of things...

What he said.  Read it for the articles (like Playboy).

Wow he screamed a lot.  I was listing to an Air album in another tab and and it started playing "sexy boy" just as he jumped in.  It fit perfectly. :)

-Handheld Games (Gameboy, GBA, DS, Game Gear) - 6-pocket trading card binder pages, inside of a binder.

A bunch of people have already said this, but this is brilliant.  This is exactly the kind of idea I wanted to hear about.  Thanks!

I use this, it has room for a LOT of games.

Also cool!

General / Storage Methods

How do you store your games?

I'm keeping my older carts in plastic containers (e.g. Sterilite).  I'm trying to decide weather I should take the carts I have boxes for and keep them in the boxes.  Also I have all my manuals in ziplock baggies separate from the boxes.  I want to strike a balance between consolidation and preservation. What do you think?  Do ziplock baggies contain acids that will damage the manuals over time?
