Meh I still think the Genesis Sonic games aged better than Mario, but then again I'm a huge Sonic freak and grew up playing Sonic more than Mario. (Mario isn't bad, but isn't as good as Sonic IMO.) Anyways yes Sonic Team had nothing to do with Sonic Boom, Big Red Button was the company behind the epic failure known as Rise of Lyric for the Wii U while Sanzaru Games worked on Shattered Crystal and Fire and Ice. (Both were better than Rise of Lyric but Shattered Crystal isn't all that great. Fire and Ice is the best Boom game for sure.) Also trust me when I say that not all of us are crazy, I stay clear from the part of the fan base that makes all the strange fan art/fan fiction. The thing is with Sonic there's lots of different styles that the games have gone through since the Adventure days. Heck even back in the 90's there were some questionable Sonic games. Sonic Labyrinth is one of the most hated Sonic games because it takes away Sonic's speed and it came out during the classic era. I still agree that Sonic gets way too much hate. Other franchises has had their share of poor games too but no one mentions them.

My username is theravenfreak because I'm completely obsessed with Raven from Teen Titans. She's the girl next to classic Sonic in my avatar. I've had a crush on her since I was 13 years old, and well that crush has never gone away. :V So when I joined Sonic Retro I came up with the name Ravenfreak, and now I just use this username everywhere.

I got a top loader NES with 13 games for $70 from one of my co workers. Typically I see Top Loaders go for over $100 with no games on Ebay, so I had to snatch that up. I only wish that it came with the dog bone controller, it did come with two controllers though.

I'm currently listening to the Mid Boss theme from the Mega Drive version of Star Cruiser. This game has a pretty epic soundtrack.

While I'm mainly looking forward to Mania, I'm still looking forward to this. I love Sonic the Hedgehog, always have and always will. I think it's cool that they're allowing people to make their own characters to play as. While I've never had a Sonic fan character before, creating one for this game alone doesn't bother me. People honestly are overreacting to this IMO. It's still better than that strange Mario + Rabbids crossover game that was leaked today.

I know this topic is a bit old, but the Sega Retro page for this barely has any information. Apparently Tianli made a few other models besides this one, and they also made Game VCD players as well. Pretty cool to see one of these! The company is now defunct, so their website is no longer on the web. (Though it may have been picked up by the wayback machine... and it'll be in Chinese anyways.)

I personally don't have a issue with repros, especially if the official release of the game is way too expensive. For example Musha on the Mega Drive is way too overpriced IMO, so if you were to buy a repro of the game I wouldn't blame you. Also repros of games that didn't make it to your country is fine in my book likewise with hacks and homebrew.

Well since it's 9:15 p.m. here that means my two days off of work are now over. It sucks but hey I have to make money somehow! I typically get Mondays and Tuesdays off, along with my girlfriend.

I've recently added Evolution 2 and Judge Dredd: Dredd Vs. Death to my collection today. I also purchased another PSP for my girlfriend since her old one wasn't working right.

I've been playing Pokemon Black 2 lately. I've never completed the game before, so what I did was transfer all my Pokemon to Sun version and started a new save since I haven't touched the game in about two years. I have my first badge already, but I'm training before I take on Roxie.

Hey everyone my name is TheRavenfreak! Feel free to call me Raven for short if you wish. I've been obsessed with video games since the age of four, with my favorite video game franchise being Sonic the Hedgehog. I also like to ROM hack for fun, but I mainly just modify the Master System/Game Gear Sonic games. I've been meaning to keep track of my growing video game collection for a while, and finally started working on keeping track of it today. Since I also love forums, I've decided to join the forums as well. My favorite video game console is the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, with Sonic 3K being my favorite game on the console. I also love cartoons, with Teen Titans being my favorite. Anyways I've rambled on for too long, nice to meet everyone!

The last anime I watched was Pokemon, episode 14 of Season 1. It's the episode when the gang first meets Bill. I don't care for the newer seasons of the Pokemon anime all too much, but I mainly just play the Pokemon games.
