4. Batman: Arkham City (2011) [PS3]
Completion Requirements:
•   Finished the game 100%
•   Finished Catwoman DLC 100%
•   Finished Riddler’s Revenge DLC Maps 100%
•   Finished Harley Quinn’s Revenge 100%
•   Completed the above on normal and hard
•   Obtained Platinum Trophy

I beat the main story of this game last year, but I completed it fully as of today so I figured I put enough time into it to add it to this year's list. My thoughts remain the same, this is such an awesome game in every respect, especially for fans of Batman like myself. I look forward to playing Arkham Knight in the future and even revisiting Asylum and City through the Return to Arkham series.

3. Mega Man 4 (1991) [PS4]
Completion Requirements:
•   Acquired Wire and Balloon upgrades
•   Defeated final boss

I've been gradually playing through the Mega Man Legacy Collection over the past couple years and completed this one today. I think Mega Man 3 is my favorite, but this game is great also. I think the robot masters are harder to defeat even with the weapon that plays on their weakness compared to the first three games.

2. Super Mario Odyssey (2017) [NS]
Completion Requirements:
•   Collected 999 Power Moons
•   Purchased all hats, outfits and souvenirs
•   Completed capture list
•   Acquired all music
•   Reached rank 50 in Luigi’s Balloon World

Game #2 of 2019 is finally completed! I've been playing this since Christmas time and I absolutely love this game. The graphics, the locations, the best 3D Mario controls I've used, and an amazing soundtrack have all made playing this a great experience. I'm almost tempted to say this game might finally dethrone Super Mario World as my favorite Mario game, but at the bare minimum it's my favorite 3D Mario game. I've been having a rough time this year at work and in life also, so this game has been very therapeutic for me over the past 4+ months. Nintendo games have always done this for me anyway. This is a bucket list game for sure if you haven't played it.

Tip: If you want to purchase all the hats and outfits, play Luigi's Balloon World. It's by far the easiest way to rack up coins. I didn't figure this out until I'd spent many hours grinding coins in bonus areas.

Downloaded Mortal Kombat 11 on PS4 yesterday. I haven't had a lot of time to play it, but I'm really enjoying it even with the little time I've spent so far.

I play guitar pretty seriously aside from gaming/movies/anime etc. I used to be into weight training a lot also, been trying to get back into it but my job takes a lot out of me so all I can do is the lazy stuff

1. Overcooked (2016) [PS4]
Completion Requirements:
•   3 stars on all levels in main campaign
•   3 stars on all levels in Lost Morsel DLC
•   3 stars on all levels in Festive Seasoning DLC
•   Obtained all trophies

Yay, I finally finished a game in 2019. This game was a lot of fun and shows how a simple concept of cooking food and running a kitchen as the core gameplay can be entertaining. I played this co-op with my brother. It's probably more fun as a multiplayer game than single player. Recommended.

The most early stuff I grew up on was like the Transformers and GIJOE movies, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

After that, a lot of what I watched was basically the "Disney Afternoon", so Ducktales, Tailspin, Darkwing Duck, etc...

Then it would be like Nickolodeon shows, so Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy, all that stuff...

And after that it would be mostly Cartoon Network, so Dexter's Lab, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Powerpuff Girls, and then like Toonami for my anime stuff.

And there are others like the Batman Animated series among others strewn about.

We had nearly identical experiences, haha.

I also watched the Looney Tunes cartoons a ton back when the Bugs Bunny Road Runner show was on.

I'm in again. I started halfway through the year last year so we'll see what I can pull off from the beginning.

This year I'm going to focus on games I've never beaten or even played, especially newer games, since I ended up replaying a lot of games I have beaten before last year. For each game I'm also going to decide on "completion requirements" for when I can add the game to my "completed" list and I'll be posting those in future posts as well. I also made a resolution to learn how to play fighting games proper, so I'll probably have 2 or 3 of those I'll be playing all year

I loved the new Halloween. If you grew up with 80s slashers or like horror in general, the new one does the original a lot of justice. Can't wait to get it on UHD Blu-ray.

These will probably be my last games for this year. I just started Breath of the Wild which I got for Christmas and I'm not finishing that anytime soon.

22.   Ratchet & Clank (PS3)
Here’s another game I’m revisiting via the Ratchet & Clank Collection after years away from the PS2 hey-day. This game is just as fun as I remember and the game is ridiculously funny as well. Great gameplay and replay value as well since you can replay the game with your equipment from the first playthrough.

23.   Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3)
Played this on 360 years ago and went through it on PS3 last year, but officially completed it by doing the Joker challenge maps I didn’t know existed just recently. I love what this series did for licensed games and demonstrated that they can be awesome and not just a cash grab. I’m glad to see that trend continuing with the likes of Spider Man on PS4. It also helps that I’m a huge Batman fan

I like pretty much all fighting games, although I can't stand unbalanced BS boss fights. I especially like the new Netherrealm games.

Got some time off from work to pound out a few more games before the year's over!

20.   Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)
Nintendo upped the challenge with this game compared to the first Galaxy, which I particularly like. I think I like the first one better for its soundtrack and the worlds you visit, but I do love the challenge this second game offers. This was another fun one to go back to after a long time away.

21.   Super Mario 3D Land (3DS)
Funny story with this game, I actually played through this in 2017, but I was looking at a guide for it and learned there is a final level that appears after you get 5 stars on your save file that I never played. So I went back and truly completed this one and that last level was a real troll. To give you an idea I started playing it with 411 lives and had about 350 by the time I beat it with both Mario and Luigi.

Anyway, I love this game even compared to others in the Super Mario series. I really like the 2.5D setting for Mario and want to see more games like this and 3D World in the future. There’s also a lot of levels to play, especially post game. I highly recommend this one.

My gaming resolution for 2019 is to learn how to properly play fighting games. I've always loved fighting games for the character designs and martial arts, but never really learned the science and math behind playing them. Hoping to change that this year.

I finally got some time away from work, so I can play more games.

18.   Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (PS3)
I’m replaying a lot of games I used to play from my childhood/teenage years. This is the remastered Sly 1 from the PS3 collection and it’s still just as great a game as I remember. I love the soundtrack, too. I only had a couple problems with the platforming occasionally not connecting when I hit triangle to use interactables, but not a big deal, still a great game 

19.   Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (PS3)
The PS2 had SO many good games. Here’s another I replayed on the remastered PS3 collection of the Jak and Daxter series. It is still fun to play today. I also love the humor in the game (Daxter in particular XD). This is a nostalgic game especially for me because when I played it as a teenager, I wished I was in the game’s cozy world instead of real life. I’ve matured somewhat since then, but this is a fond game for me because of how therapeutic it’s been over the years.
